Does anyone know anything about TMJ?

Mine has be so bad these past two weeks I can barely eat.

The left side of my jaw is extremely deviated. I have a mouth guard for at night b/c I grind.

It hurts ALL day, I take pain medicine and it doesn't begin to touch it.

I haven't been able to eat very much so I'm shaky, faint, and feeling nauseous.

My dad knows, but I can't really do anything until I'm out of school.

It hurts so bad. Worse than any migraine I've ever had.

I really sympathize with you about the TMJ pain. I am a grinder too. Have to wear mouthguard at night too. Do you spend a lot of time bent over your laptop sitting on the bed? This really puts the pressure on your jaw if you think about it. I think it is better to sit at a desk not over a laptop on the bed, etc. During the day try to consciously keep your teeth apart. Putting tongue in roof of mouth will separate the teeth without looking silly. Just a few tips that help me. Hope they can do you some good.

I'm so sorry to hear about your jaw pain Bailey. I know you have a lot of problems with your jaw. Try to relax your jaw by letting it hang open. Close your eyes and relax the muscles in your face. Relaxation will help along with a pain killer like April suggested. Lay on your back if that helps you relax your jaw better. It will take a while but it will help with the pain. Without realizing it pain causes your body to tense up and that makes you bare down on your jaw. That's not good. I wish I could give you more help.

Yes, I know my siggy and avatars are gone!! Photobucket has been maintaining my albums all day and I have written them to PLEASE check my account out and see why I can't get into it by now. They have evidently messed up my links. I just hope they haven't lost all of my siggies and avatars

Make sure it's an anti-inflammatory pain killer like Ibuprofen or Advil. Just taking tylenol won't help the inflammation(I learned the hard way

When you sleep try to keep your neck straight! I tend to sleep with my neck bent and boy do I pay later.

Chondroitin is a joint supplement! I think I love whoever invented it lol!

I hope we are giving you some tips that will help you.

Kathy, I hope your PB account is working soon. I have heard of this happening to other PB accounts. . . . It seems PB maybe doing updates; they don't updates everyone at once, but sort of rotate through servers/accounts. Thus only some people are affected and others are not. About two months ago, I had similar problems one day, but the next day everything was fine. :confused:

. Very frustrating, but hopefully soon it will be resolved.

Bailey, sorry you are in pain. No advice, just hugs and concerned thoughts.
