  1. Where have you been?! I hope things are going well!

    Spot

  2. I was only able to watch a bit of the first segment but I'll be back when real life quits tugging at my sleeve. He certainly continues to look wonderful doesn't he? Thank you so much for taping and uploading what must have been a really fun time! Alice can't wait to see that to which you are referring in post # 2! Questions, pictures? Hhhhmmmmm. Ardeth
  3. Oh yeah I remember that! There was someone (several actually!) on the floor in front!! Whatever happened to it (them?). Who originated the photo? (I miss my mind terribly!) Ardeth
  4. Hello Luthien and Jill4675, I noticed your posts were your 1st & 3rd (or was it 4th Jill?) respectively!!! That makes you pretty new. How wonderful that you've found your way here! I think you'll find this is an amazing site that you'll enjoy yourselves more and more each time you come. Take care. Ardeth
  5. Holly I can really understand what you must have experienced. If you did anything less than sob it is a miracle! It WAS a spititual experience because it was so emotionally charged with wide and deep dimensions. It wasn't any one thing, well maybe . . . a Gerry THING  but really it is such a rich experience because it's him and all of us and all the relationships with one another NOT to mention the dimensions and appreciation most of us have learned to have for ourselves as well. He's inspired such self exploration and discovery that allows all the rest. I'm rambling and crying a
  6. Dear, Dear, Dear Holly, Jen, Susan and Stef!!! Thank you ALL SO MUCH for the transcript, the videos, for it ALL!! It was such an amazing experience all by itself but as life tends to do it has begun to fade a wee bit in our minds (at least a bit for me . . . Madam my memory is like Swiss Cheese) or we begin to question what we heard and saw and felt and this is like a second, no that was the vids & pics but another chance to begin to reclaim a part of something that was so amazing!! Thank you doesn't even begin to touch the kindnesses and generosity you have all shown . . . again! L
  7. What a GREAT sense of humor you have Marcia!!!! Glad it's been set free!!!! You will be welcomed here ALWAYS!!! We Gerry fans LOVE to laugh!! Ardeth
  8. OK so this is an aside to a serious issue but Bethy the instant image of Gerry doing a "Preparation H" commercial gave me the giggles! Leave it to you to help us all smile. Thanks for the levity. Marcia, I can empathize with what you've expressed though I have not gone back and read the history of the posts leading up to this, what I consider a pretty serious topic, acceptance. I find it anxiety provoking still, as a relatively outgoing woman in middle age, to be the new kid on the block. I'm also part of GB.net my first Gerry home, and McHeathers a cute little group started here in
  9. Uh, sure.... And the sky is pink, the grass is blue, pigs can fly. How can a tall, graceful, handsome man who radiates life's energy be inconspicuous?? :laugh4: Well, actually you are correct there. My friend is the one who noticed this "hot" guy standing over there but didn't know who it was at first. There was just no "aura" about him that made him look like a celebrity. Does that make sense? It makes perfect sense. He didn`t have the attitude or the entourage. He is one special person :inlove: ...and what is also amazing is that we are all so happy for you, that you g
  10. Oh my GOD you're not just kidding!!!!! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PIC STEF???? The Vatican should use him as their recruiting poster boy! There were NEVER priests that looked like Gerry when I was growing up!!! Well . . . Father Virgil Funk . . . but then he got disillusioned and became very boring!!! Maybe if there HAD been one I'd still be practicing it today!! Holly I'm with you too girl!! :: Ardeth P.S.Growing pains are OK . . . cuz then you get to grow!

  12. Bonnie Anne, You articulate so well so much of what you feel so deeply. Reading your postings always touches my heart. Thank you for sharing this journey in which you find yourself. My guess is that Jimmy understood more than you know and probably did not fault you for your decision as a very young child. Hugs and love to you Bonnie Anne. Ardeth Kristine, Welcome to GALS and the phenomenon of being a Gerard Butler fan! His "effect" on our "affects" is what first brought us all together and has created something far greater than our individual selves. You are NOT weird but part of
  13. Susan, I just send in a contribution as well. Use it in whatever way you think best. My heartfelt sympathies are with christinarenova and her family and I will keep them in my prayers as well. Thanks for the information. Ardeth P.S.Is there some way we could tell other new members about this fund? Until I read what was written as the latest post on the first page of the Forum I did not know it existed. I clicked on it where it said "Sunshine Fund" out of curiosity. I bet there are others who like me are pretty new and might want to know. Just a thought.
  14. Like Dyanicess I had no idea there even were such speculations or discussions elsewhere! Sometimes living a limited media life is a good thing! I totally agree with you Dr. Em and GALS that Gerry's private life is his alone. However . . . who was even looking ANYWHERE but at THE MAN himself that night anyway? I mean . . . REALLY! ? I also agree with songbird, sbchild4 & becozy and with whomever else said that after seeing him in person at the Convention, with all the courage that must have taken him to face us all when that sweet baby was so nervous, I would just do anything to suppo
  15. OK Stalow, I can understand your frustration totally! Have you watched the videos Susan Sporran made? Most, not all, of what Gerry said was on there. Also the one by I've forgotten who, of Tonya is here somewhere as well. As wonderful as Gerry was, and I will be a devoted fan FOREVER because of his appearance (if I had had any doubts before this that is) was how much I enjoyed meeting and began getting to know some of the other women at the convention. The generosity and caring, the intelligence and spirits of the other Gerry fans was as moving as anything THE MAN said himself! That was
