A few laughs to lighten the day!

    GETTING OLD:

I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People get out of the way much faster now.

Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers.

I didn’t make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row

I decided to stop calling the bathroom the “John” and renamed it the “Jim”. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Old age is coming at a really bad time.

When I was a child I thought “Nap Time” was a punishment. Now, as a grownup, it feels like a small vacation.

The biggest lie I tell myself  is ”I don't need to write that down, I'll remember it."

I don’t have gray hair; I have "wisdom highlights"! I’m just very wise.

If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would’ve put them on my  knees.
Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven’t met yet.

Why do I have to press one for English when you’re just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway?

Of course I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice.

At my age “Getting lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I came in there for.

Actually I'm not complaining because I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don’t have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don’t have a curfew. I have a driver’s license and my own car The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant. And I don’t have acne.

    Life is great.

I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can’t remember their names.

Now, I’m wondering: did I send this to you, or did you send it to me?

I love each and every one of these, Lu...still laughing!! :rotflmao:

  2. I'm voting London Has Fallen off this week.

Regarding Gerry's chemistry with his leading ladies, although POTO was and always will be one of my very favorites, and I thought the love story of Erik and Christine was portrayed beautifully by Gerry and Emmy, the fact was that there were certain restrictions placed on their interaction due to Emmy's age, which may or may not have affected their portrayals in some ways. In PSILY, I thought Gerry and Hillary had great chemistry together, plus the love portrayed between their characters was a more mature and stable love, in addition to the passion they felt for one another, so I'll go with PSILY!

  3. I'm voting "Olympus Has Fallen" off.

For the Immunity Question, "POTO" has the best plot, hands down, imho! I fully acknowledge that my opinion might be biased by the simple fact that POTO was the movie where I first discovered Gerry and will therefore always hold a special place in my heart! :phantom:

Last night, one of our neighbors who works at the Catholic church a couple of blocks away, said that we could park our cars overnight at the covered parking at the church's school administration building as long as space was available and we moved our cars before the start of school this morning. We gratefully took him up on it! The storm came through as predicted around 2am and lasted for a couple of hours at our house. We got up at 6:30 this morning and went and got our cars. I didn't hear of any hail anywhere in the area, so I guess we didn't need to park at the church overnight, but better safe than sorry. I'll remember that for the next time hail is in the forecast.

So glad the storm turned out to be much less than anticipated...much easier to deal with that than the other way around! It was good of your neighbor to offer you the "safe zone"...like you said, better safe than sorry!

Susie...so sorry to hear about your allergy struggles...I suffer enough from them to know how lucky I am that I don't suffer as much as a lot of other people do, if that makes any sense!

And now I'm heading over to vote somebody off the island! :D

  5. Wow...it's been forever since I posted here! Like so many others I've defected mostly to FB, but GALS will always have a special place in my heart so I really want to start spending more time back here when I can. I desperately need to update my siggie, that's for sure! I should really learn how to start doing my own...Also, sounds like you had a great weekend, Elissa!

  6. Wow...I think I'm making it just under the wire this time! I vote to give chauvinist Mike Chadway the boot...and let's send Jack Rusoe to exile...he's just a nice guy scientist trying to get home to his little girl...gotta admire that!! :)

  7. Okay, for starters, I'm voting to boot Dracula :drac: off the island, just because...well, let's face it, he SUCKS!! :p

For immunity on Exile Island I'll vote for Creedy, :creedy: since he was cremated so early on in the movie, and my heart was broken! The rest of the movie wasn't the same after that, imho...

Did I do it right, Elissa? I've played before, but only a few times, and it's been a while, so I want to start playing more often!

  8. It's been a while since I checked in here at GALS, so I was alarmed to read your initial post about Reba's cancer, Swannie, but so relieved to know that things have turned out better than you originally thought they might for her! I will keep Reba and your family in my prayers that things continue to go well for her! How I love hearing good news...and don't we all!
