  2. Our second favorite funny Scotsman Craig Ferguson got married over the holidays! Congrats to him and his new wife! Craig Ferguson Gets Married
  3. Boy, it has been a regular Gerry Marathon for me yesterday/today! Last night/early this morning POTO was on and I HAD to watch it! It wouldn't be New Years with the Phantom. Then today both 300 and PSILY were on and of course, I had to watch them too. The hubby finally watched PSILY and now he knows why I am always during the movie...so was he!!! He's real softy, so I am not surprised. Dear Frankie got to him too. I can't wait for RNR to come out on DVD. I only got to see it once at the theater and I wanted the hubby to see because I think he will like it. A real "guy flick" as opposed to a "chick flick" like PSILY. No tissues required!
  4. Wishing all the GMCL's a Happy, Healthy and Properous New Year! :hearts: :hearts:
  5. Eva Larue of CSI: Miami. (see post #1) Was that there before???? I loved her on All My Children. Thanks! Lisa Lisa, of course it was. Didn't you see it??? I'm just messing with you...your post reminded me that I forgot to add who the quote was from so I went back and added it.
  6. On page 76 of Life & Style Weekly Magazine, under Film Reviews, Eva Larue of CSI: Miami mentions Gerry as "Who's Hot right now". Who's Hot right now: "The guy from 300, Gerard Butler. He's sexy as hell. I love that rugged manly-man, guy's-guy thing." There is also a small picture of Gerry as Leonidas. Looks like 2009 is going to be a very good year for Gerry!
  8. It is good to know he is going home for the holidays. Hopefully he will get some rest and enjoy himself. He might even put on a few pounds with his mum's Christmas pudding! Not much he can do about the razzi's. They are all vultures. But at least this one had alittle decency. Thanks for posting.
  9. I was looking up some holiday hairstyles and I found this article and thought it was interesting. Personally my hair is shoulder length but I have worn it short in the past. I found I do get more compliments with longer hair. Also, I prefer longer hair on men as long as it is kept well. What about you? Why do Men Prefer Long Hair? Women spend a great deal of time, money, and attention making their hair as attractive as possible. While this energy is often spent in order to make a woman feel more confident, it also serves to make a woman more attractive to men. Fashion and beauty magazines offer tips and advice on how women can make their hair as appealing as possible to men. While all men vary in preferences, the majority of men report preferring long hair on women. "I think men like it because it's more feminine," explains one college student. "I love to run my fingers through my girlfriend's hair." Hairstyle preferences are often thought to be a result of cultural norms and expectations. According to this theory, men's preference for long hair is due to the fact that long hair requires substantial commitment of money, time, and daily care. Such factors would indicate that a woman has a good financial status, self-respect, and concern for her overall health and well being. Men may find longer-haired women more attractive because these characteristics are desirable qualities in a partner. However, this preference for long hair goes beyond social or cultural expectations for women's beauty. Research has demonstrated that there is an evolutionary reason for men to prefer long hair to short hair on women. According to evolutionary theory, features considered attractive by the opposite sex serve as indicators of reproductive fitness. Experiments and observations have demonstrated that a woman's hair plays a major role in how men rate a woman's attractiveness. The quality and length of hair serves as a marker of genetic strength and overall health. Several studies have demonstrated that men find women with medium-length to long hair more attractive than shorter haired counterparts. Men also rate longer haired women as healthier and fitter than shorter haired women. In one study published in the research journal Human Nature, researchers found that women who had originally been rated by a test group as being less attractive were rated far more highly when shown with a longer hairstyle. The experimenters concluded that longer hairstyles increase women's attractiveness in part because longer hair helps to disguise less desirable features. Long hair tends to make the jaw line slimmer and less prominent and draws attention away from undefined cheekbones. Also, as described by many men, long hair also contributes to a more feminine and youthful appearance. Of course, men are not ruled by evolutionary biases and many men report preferring short hair to long hair. Shorter hair that is healthy and lustrous is better than having long hair that is damaged and unkempt. Whatever the length, maintaining your hair's healthy appearance is the best way to ensure your partner or potential partner's will appreciate the beauty of your hair. In the past, women were often expected to cut their hair short once they reached a certain age. A woman over 40 is often pressured by female friends to get a shorter haircut that is considered more "appropriate" for her age. Given the preponderance of data indicating that men prefer longer hair, why do women feel this pressure to go shorter? It is possible that since these women already have a partner and children, they feel less pressure to maintain a hairstyle that is considered indicative of reproductive health. However, recent changes in cultural norms have led to an increase in long hair amongst women over age 40. An important factor is that many women are marrying later in life and waiting until they are older to have children. Fashion magazines have become more inclusive and less concerned with perpetuating age stereotypes. Several magazines geared towards middle-aged women, such as O and More, show a diverse range of models, including older women with long hair. The popular television show "Desperate Housewives" boasts a number of over-40 women, all who have long hair. Fashion's current emphasis on ultra-feminine styles is also believed to contribute to this increase in hair length. By seeing longer-haired women reflected in popular culture, women feel less pressure to follow old-fashioned expectations of what is considered age appropriate. Despite these changes, many women prefer shorter hair and often have good reasons to choose a shorter style. Numerous women experience hair loss or thinning as they age, and a shorter hairstyle is often more flattering and helps hair look healthier and fuller. Whatever length you choose, keeping your hair healthy and well cared for will ensure that men find your hair attractive. While men may report preferring long hair, it takes more than long locks to make a great relationship.
  10. I finally watched PSILY on HBO. I knew it was on earlier in the month but I held off watching it. I like the movie well enough it is just hard for me to watch. It was nice to see Gerry as Gerry again. I forgot how gorgeous he looked in this movie. I think if I watch it a few more times I might be able to get through it without a box of tissue.
  11. I am sorry to hear this. Prayers and positive thoughts for Craig and his family. PatKay
  12. Beautiful decorations Bonnie! I just love the colors in the room. My favorite pic is the last one...something about the lighting! Happy Holidays, PatKay
  13. I was just reading the 11/28 issue of Entertainment Weekly and found that 300 was #50 on their list of the 50 Sexist Movies Ever. Here's what they had to say: 300 (2007) A band of 300 impossibly buff Spartan warriors led by King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) battle the Persian empire with swords, shields, and tiny leather codpieces. Sexiest Moment it depends on your tastes, really, so long as they aren't subtle: You've got a lithesome female Oracle gyrating in mystical mist, nude Leonidas making sweet love to his queen (Lena Heady), or just the truly awesome spectacle of Butler's abs. I was surprised that they would consider 300 a SEXY movie! We all knew that already but it was nice to see others appreciating all that gorgeous beefcake!!!
  14. What a goof but you love him anyway! He is lookin' might fine in those pics!
  15. DivaHeather (Heather) - Dec. 2nd PCLady (Jackie) - Dec. 19th Stacie-in-Nebraska (Stacie) - Dec. 26th
  16. Thanks for this info! I was so disappointed that RNR was out of the theaters so quickly. Now I will be able to watch it anytime I like!
  17. This is Great News! With Xmas, my son's b-day and another convention I go to every year, I didn't think I would be able to sign up before the deadline!
  18. My daughter completed most of the puzzle before I saw it. Seems she knows alot about Gerry and his movies. I wonder why!
  19. OK, I'm going to this movie for sure! I admit I would not be seeing this movie if Gerry wasn't in it, I am not one for rom-com's, but it actually looks funny and of course Gerry looks GREAT!!! Love the baseball cap! Thanks for the link!
  20. Goofy hair or not, he is and always will be the most gorgeous man I have ever set eyes on!
  21. Of course they are going to include the hot, new guys coming up in Tinseltown. They are trying to expand their readership. By throwing in guys like Robert Pattinson (22), Zac Efron (21) and Kevin Jonas (21) they are assured that more copies of this magazine will fly off the racks. I know because I got my copy and my 14 yr. old daughter wanted a copy of her own too! Normally she would not pick up a People Magazine. She'd rather read Tiger Beat!
  22. Oh Boy, this does not sound good to me. I am having a hard enough time picturing Jennifer Aniston in prison let alone singing. Please let this just be a "rumor".
  23. SQUEEE....Gerry, Hugh, Robert...what more can a women ask for!!!
