  1. Question to everyone: What's your favorite scary movie? Because I am a big horror movie fan, I have seen MANY horror movies and I have alot of favorites. The scariest movie ever for me is the Exorcist. I will not watch that one alone. I love just about any and all Vampire movies. Some really "suck" but I still like to watch them. I like all the originals of Halloween, Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I met and spent 2 hrs. talking to Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) several years ago. He's a pretty normal guy considering who he plays in movies! I even got to wear the movie used Freddy Krueger razor glove! Very cool! I like the Hellraiser series....Pinhead is the coolest. Love, love, love American Werewolf in London!!! Can't forget the original Night of the Living Dead (and many of the sequels). I get a kick out of zombie movies like Resident Evil and the Evil Dead series. I like odd, indie horror films too like Gingersnaps, Zombie Honeymoon and the Blair Witch Project. And of course, still the best...the old, original Dracula, Wolfman, Mummy, Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon. Gotta love those old black & white films. As requested, here is a link for Kitty Litter Cake Enjoy!
  2. Isaboo...love your pumpkin carvings, especially the Phantom ones! Swannie...my mom made all my halloween costumes too. One year I was the Flying Nun (us oldies will remember this tv show) complete with the winged habit! Another year she made a full body Snoopy suit complete with a sign that read "Snoopy For President", again us oldsters will remember this slogan! Great memories! One of my favorite things to do at Halloween is make fun and disgusting Halloween recipes! Because my daughter's b-day is on Halloween, I have made many of these recipes. Mostly the "nice" ones for the school kids, but I have made some of the gross ones too! My all time favorite is Kitty Litter Cake! If you make it right, it REALLY looks like a cat box complete with kitty poop!!! I have made it for work parties and I just love to watch people's reaction to seeing it! Here are several links to Halloween recipes and party ideas.... 4. Calling all Halloween Ghosts and Goblins! Do you love Halloween? Do you get excited when the stores begin to fill up with Halloween candy and decorations? Do you count the days until you can visit the pumpkin patch to pick out just the right pumpkin? Do you already have your Halloween costume? If you love Halloween as much I as I do, then let's celebrate together by posting your favorite Halloween recipe, special decorating or costume idea/picture. Post where your favorite Halloween haunted house is and why you like it! Don't forget to post your favorite Halloween stories/experiences! I'm sure we all have a ghost story or two to tell! I will begin with a website that has alot of interesting information and links to the history and more of Halloween! Halloween.com Enjoy! PatKay

  6. Check out this fun site to find out.... Number One in History Mine is "Mack The Knife" by Bobby Darin...Jeeze, I'm getting old.
  7. Thanks Ladies! I have been to 2 Walgreens, Target, Wal-Mart and even a 7-11. I even asked my hubby to check the Walgreens he was going to yesterday and they didn't have it either. He is cool with my Gerry obsession so he would pick it up for me if he found it. I guess I will have to try Borders or Books a Million. They usually have every magazine imaginable.
  8. I still can't FIND the October issue! I have been to several stores and they all still have the Sept. issue w/Beckham. Where have you found your issue? PatKay
  9. Kelly, heard about the flooding in Morris. I hope you and your family are ok. Please post if/when you can. PatKay
  10. From KittyPro: I'm sending out this message to a bunch of you just in case you're wondering how we fared through Hurricane Ike. Some of you had expressed concern, and I thought I'd just send out the word that Larry, the girls and I are all OK. Our back yard looks like a bowl of spaghetti with all the downed power lines, and the front yard looks like a jungle with fallen limbs everywhere, but the house only sustained a few lost shingles and none of the cars got hit or crushed. I'm writing from Fort Worth at the home of my mother and father in-law. We lost power at about 3 am Saturday morning, and I wouldn't be surprised if repairs are not made for a week or more. So, we left Houston yesterday afternoon, headed west, and then north in a rather round about route to miss the main path of the storm, and got here at about 10 pm last night. Life without air conditioning was pretty unbearable even for one day, so we thought it was best to leave until power gets restored. The storm was incredibly scary! The rains were heavy, but it was the winds that were truly frightening. It was howling, literally. You could feel the walls shaking. I think my neighborhood got hit by at least one tornado from the looks of all the huge trees that are down. Directly across the street, a 100 foot pine tree was literally ripped up by the roots. It fell across the front yards of THREE houses across the street. An immense Sweetgum in the yard behind us was snapped in half like a twig. My Redbud tree has totally VANISHED! It's just NOT THERE! Every utility pole along the easement at the rear of our lot is snapped off at the top. Amazing! There are trees everywhere - across streets, on top of houses, on top of cars. You could hear the snapping of the trees and power poles as they got hit, and sounds almost like sonic booms when they fell. It was terrifying. But, we were so lucky. We're all OK, the cats are all OK, and as I said, our property is a mess but sustained no severe damage. I'm glad we had a place to take refuge here in Fort Worth. Still, I am anxious to get back home. We'll have to wait and see exactly how long that will be. The last I heard, they were not allowing people back into the city yet. No one tried to stop us from leaving, though. LOL! I only have a S-L-O-W dial-up connection here, and I can't get onto the message boards, so if some of you would perhaps pass the word along to any I might have missed that we are OK, that would be great. I will try to get someplace in the next few days that has high speed wireless so I can check in personally. I hope all my fellow Houstonian friends made it through the storm OK. Cheers everyone! I'm happy to be alive! Hugs, Pat (kitty) Thank the Lord she and her family are ok. Continued prayers to those still affected by Ike. PatKay

    Halloween

Isaboo, love your pumpkin carvings! Halloween is a big deal in my house mostly because it is my daughter's birthday! We are pumpkin carvers too except we carve several real pumpkins because we like to bake the pumpkin seeds. I have used the carvable ones too for decoration in the house and in the kids rooms. Knight Phantom, thanks for the pics of the Phantom pumpkin carvings. I think I am going to try to carve a Phantom one for my bedroom too!
  12. Dear GMCL's, Please say a prayer for Kittypro, Vanessa and all the other Texas ladies who will be affected by hurricane Ike due to make landfall in their area sometime tomorrow. Several of them will be hunkering down and riding the storm out. Pray they are safe and their losses will be minimal. O Gracious God Who created the earth and all that is in it, Thou didst give us so many blessings; Indeed, Thou didst fill the world with so much beauty, bounty and no end of wonders! We ask Thee now to save Thy people from nature's fury, from storm and flood and raging fire.
  13. Annette! There are ladies in Wisconsin who are Gerry fans and they are part of the GMCL group. We are a group of fun loving ladies from all areas of the Midwest who love Gerry and get together often. Feel free to join our thread and/or one of our gatherings. Here is our current thread... GMCL thread. See you on the boards! PatKay
  14. My husband's cousin works at the Pentagon and thankfully was not there on 9/11. This April when my family and I were in Washington DC, she took us for a private tour of the Pentagon. It was a very moving and surreal feeling to see the memorial they have within the Pentagon and to stand in the same area that once was destroyed and people lost their lives because an airplane was flown into that building. My thoughts and prayers are with those affected in any way by this national tragedy. God Bless them and God Bless America!
  15. That certainly was 'different'!!! Gerry looked so tall/big compared to everyone else. Funny stuff...thanks for posting!
  16. I have to agree with you on this. This certainly was not a mob. I was recently at a Jonas Brothers concert and when those boys were walking to their bus they were MOBBED by thousands of screaming teen girls! OMG it was site to see and these are just 3 boys under 21 yrs. old!!! Anyway, I think Gerry handled himself quite well by making the comment he did. She may not have caught it, but he was letting her know she violated his personal space by touching him so he was going to violate her personal space by squeezing her t*ts. What's good for the goose is good for the gander! Did anyone catch his other comment to someone he signed a picture for? He said he signed about 16 things for that person. Must have been one of those autograph selling hounds. Considering everyone Gerry sees around the world, he is quick enough to remember someone he has signed for before!
  17. Gerry just cracks me up! Only Gerry could come up with this comment to a fan! You gotta admire the guy for putting up with fans like that.

  19. Dawn, I am sitting her laughing at that comment by Bennett about being the "hottest" person in the room! Way to go Bennett!!! I am glad to hear that Bennett recieved another clear MRI and I will pray that he continues to do so. I understand your concern about the continued MRI's but it is a good thing to keep on eye on things. My daughter has to get MRI's once a year because of her cyst and while I do not look forward to them, I know that if anything changes it will be seen sooner than later. Congrats to Bennett for getting his license! I know I can't tell you not to be stressed because I know when my daughter gets her license I am going to be a basket case! Thank you for the updates and please know I am keeping Bennett in my prayers for his continued good health. PatKay
  20. NEWS: LAC will NOT be filming in Chicago. LAC to film in Philly Thursday, August 28, 2008 Frank Darabont To Shoot LAC In Philadelphia Frank Darabont To Shoot LAW ABIDING CITIZEN In Philadelphia Published by Rich Drees at 2:48 pm under Coming Soon, Directors, On Location, Writers Frank Darabont's next film, Law Abiding Citizen, will be shot entirely on location this fall in Philadelphia. The story centers on a string of murders taking place across the city being masterminded by psycopathic genius who is locked behind bars. Gerard Butler will star as the prosecutor responsible for the psychopath's incarceration who is racing against time to stop him. Exciting news for those of anyone who is a follower of Darabont's work and for any film fan living in the Philadelphia area. And if you're like me, someone who lives in the Philadelphia area and is a fan of Darabont's movies, it is a double win! Philadelphia and the surrounding region has certainly seen its fair share of film and television production recently, with numerous smaller projects as well as bigger productions like M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening, which was released this past summer, and the upcoming Marley And Me, Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones and Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen all having used the area for location shooting. Looking towards the future, Shyamalan is currently planning on shooting his next film, Avatar: The Last Airbender, in the area and talk continues to circulate about a full-fledged production studio being built in the near future.
