  1. Our Forum is in need of funding for updates. Therefore, some of the items are not working, such as notifications for threads. There is no work-around at this time. Since GALS is run by volunteers with real life work and other demands, it will take time to resolve.
  2. This week we celebrate GALS' SEVENTEENTH anniversary! Thankful for Gerry who inspired Dr. Em (Dayna) to start GALS - creating a FANmily to celebrate all things Gerry! We wouldn't be able to continue without your support, so
  3. It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear lugerry (Lu)/Barbara Oryl passed away this week. She was a long time member, known and beloved by many. Barbara (Lu) was a regular at the GALS Conventions and participated in many of the activities. GAMES forum was her favorite area to 'hang out' in, and she was always one to share a fun story or joke. Barbara made many friends via GALS. She was able to travel as far afield as Alaska and Scotland and always had a wonderful time. She treasured these friendships! It meant the world to her to have her galsfriends keep in touch with her, especially during her last few years. She met Gerry her story: http://www.gerardbutlergals.com/forums/topic/25556-my-gerry-wrap-up/ She always said that the best thing she ever did was discover Gerry, who opened up a whole new world for her to enjoy. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. Rest in Peace dear Friend.

  5. Barbara has many medical problems and a long way to go to, but despite all this, she still has such a positive, fighting spirit. She is in the Rehabilitation center in New Jersey, and bored! She'd love to hear from her GALS friends. If you have the time, you can call the Spring Hills Post Acute Care in Woodbury, NJ - her room phone is: 856/345-1270. Barbara reads through the Facebook posts when she has the strength, and really appreciates the messages. She asks that we please continue to send good thoughts her way, and prayers! Thanks all! ~Barb
  6. Barbara/lugerry is asking us for prayers 🙏 . She is having significant health issues and with her heart. She has been in the cardiac intensive care since the end of May. Barbara is in a lot of discomfort and misses being at home. Please keep her in your prayers and send some love and good vibes her way.
  7. Are you all now getting notifications? We had a software update mid week, which Dayna installed. I checked the permissions for the Forum and all is in order. If there are still problems we'll put in a help ticket, please let me know.
  8. There has been an update to the Forum and unfortunately we no longer have the option for the Chat Box. Hoping to have one eventually!
  9. Tomorrow is Gerard Butler GALS 15th Anniversary! Thanks for all who have helped us grow into a friendly and fun FANmily, celebrating and sharing our love of Gerry. Thank you to Gerry for always being so supportive of GALS, and all his fans. And, of course, thanks to Dr. Em, Dayna, who founded GALS as a gathering spot for all our Gerry love.
  10. Our dear galsfriend lugerry/Barbara is in need of some prayers. She's run into some trouble from a previous surgery and is asking for the strength of the Prayer Brigade. Good thoughts and a note on her FB wall or here, will lift her spirits, too! Thanks, GALS, it's great to know we can count on all of you!
  11. Stay safe and healthy during this trying time of Covid-19 a little 'old' humor!
  12. Hey Gals! Our head gal, Dayna, is having gallbladder surgery on Monday. I instead of flowers the Mod Squad is going to PayPal her some cash and a card with prayers included. Let's show our love to Dayna Jennifer St, Giles is coordinating this, so If anyone wants to join us, please send via PayPal to: Jenniferstgiles@gmail.com Considering how rough things are we know just how much every little bit counts. for anything you may be able to send. Prayers, good thoughts and well wishes for the surgery and a speedy recovery are very welcome and appreciated by Dayna
  13. Rayna has contributed that her Browser Notifications showed "not allowed" I don't know why anyone's settings would change. Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, etc) have had security updates and new versions recently, so perhaps the settings were inadvertently changed. It didn't occur to me that that could be the issue, since the example I posted - from my own account - showed Browser Notifications Allowed in a green box with a check mark. Thank you Rayna for noticing yours had a RED box That is a setting each person has to adjust on their individual devices - go into browser security settings and choose "allow notifications" for GALS. In Firefox (which our site is designed for): Tools/Options/Privacy&Security and then scroll to Permissions and go to Notifications click on Settings and if www.gerardbutlergals.com isn't listed, you can add it in the entry field. click "Save Changes" and it should be good to go. There have been updates to Firefox and other browsers, so perhaps that's when it went astray. I'm not sure, exactly, but the Notifications are going out from our server (screen capture of our ACP) . I hope you will be able to get it adjusted and start receiving notices! Thank you, Rayna!
  14. Hi Barbara. I'm one of the GALS who plays the Quotes game, and we are having problems with the email notifications. I suddenly started getting them again a couple of days ago. My co-players are still not getting notifications. I went into my settings and found something that says "Browser notifications disabled." Could this be the problem?

    Thanks for your help.

      Yes! Thank you!

The example I posted - from my own account - showed  Browser Notifications Allowed in a green box with a check mark. You're the only one who noticed, I guess, LOL!

I'll add this to the post on the Forum.

I hope the other gals will be able to get it adjusted and start receiving notices!

      Again, thanks! :ty:

      Thanks, Barb.

I use Chrome, and my settings aren't like the ones you show here. I am getting emails, but they are about 2 hours behind. We're managing by sending each other an email alerting that we've posted. That way we keep the game going. Maybe all this will be cleared up soon.

      Thanks again!

      Rayna

  15. An update: Dayna worked with the teams at InVision and InMotion on the weekend (our Hosting and Forum providers) Dayna and the team have found that there is nothing amiss in the settings. The email functions are working, so we're at a loss as to why you and some others are not getting notifications. (Both Dayna and I are still receiving our emails from the Forum Notifications.) Dayna reset the server and ran maintenance protocols. It appears to be a 'bug in the system' and we're hoping if others have problems a patch will be issued to resolve. The posting time issue was resolved by the reset. My only other thought (and this works for me when I have issues with adding content to our gerardbutlergals.com site) is to clear the cache and cookies on your computer. I have updated the links on 'how to' on the forum post here. We are sorry for the frustration and will continue to look into resolving it. We appreciate your feedback. Best, Barb
