  1. The Trailer can be seen here http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=machinegunpreacher&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  2. http://www.hollywood...eaturing-224505 A new poster for The Weinstein Company's Coriolanus reveals a dramatic face off between two leading men, Ralph Fiennes and Gerard Butler. The film, based on a play by William Shakespeare, follows Caius Martius "Coriolanus" (Fiennes), a powerful Roman general, who is at odds with the city of Rome. When he seems the esteemed position of Consul, he lacks the votes and love of the public needed to win the title. His anger at the public's dislike of him causes a riot that leads to his expulsion from Rome. Coriolanus is forced to turn to his sworn enemy, Tullus Aufidius (Butler), for the help he needs to take revenge on the city. Fiennes, who makes his directorial debut with Coriolanus, is familiar with the play because he was part of a stage production that was directed by Jonathan Kent.
  3. Thanks Lisa for sharing all the stuff you are hearing on the grapevine
  4. It has been confirmed by Zac Simpson that MGP will premiere in Toronto at TIFF on Sunday 9/11 Machine Gun Preacher WORLD PREMIERE at the Toronto Film Festival on Sunday, Sept 11th. Opens in NY and LA Sept 23 and wider markets Sept 30 and it will now be a GALA
  5. I'm totally fine about it glad it went to Kris. It's not often I'm sensible in my decisions but something stopped my trigger finger with seconds to go
  6. Well done Kris it was indeed well deserved. Sorry to have to make you pay £1200/$2000 for it though but it is for a good cause and we know it's going to a good home. I was killing myself laughing as there were 80 bids but only about 4 bidders in total. Most were in my name as it comes up automatic bid if a bidder does not outbid you. I was glad to see the King Henrik Larsson got £1200 too it would've been so wrong otherwise Moira
  7. http://justjared.buz...ing-coffee-run/ Gerard Butler chats on his cellphone as he picks up a cup of coffee and the Los Angeles Times on Sunday morning (August 14) in Malibu, Calif. As he was picking up his goodies, the 41-year-old Scottish actor stopped to talk to a police officer and have a friendly conversation! Earlier in the week, Gerard partied the night away at the Playhouse Nightclub in Hollywood. Gerard recently signed on to star in the FBI thriller The Bricklayer! Gerry will be playing a rogue former FBI agent, and has also signed on to co-produce the film! In Gallery!
  8. I'd like to think he wore both on each half so it's a win win for both him and the person who wins the public auction. I too wondered if it would automatically be laundered before despatch as I expect it would be quite filthy. I expect some would want as is but might not get the chance.
  9. Nordic Girl I did see a tweet from Celtic Bhuoys that said Gerry bid £20,000 on the shirt he wore at the game. If true there may have been a separate auction from the public one going on and Gerry is very generous. I had this confirmed from Celtic Charity Fund. The players had 2 shirts in the dressing room to wear (one for each half if they fancied) - we took this precaution as we had a feeling they might swap one of them at full-time! I have no idea if Gerry only wore one shirt throughout the whole game and just signed his spare for the public auction or actually did wear both. This may be a stupid question to those of you who have bid on items of Gerry's clothing before but when supposed "worn by" stuff is auctioned off do they launder the stuff first??. Just curious to know whether Celtic will send all the shirts as is. Moira
  10. Not sure if this has been posted but Gerry's shirt is up for auction http://www.celticcharityfund.org.uk/auctions/auctionindex Moira
  11. I for one are furious he didn't see fit to join in with the exchange of tops at end of match what does he have to be shy about after the dressing room pics Moira
  12. I was amazed at his stamina. He's obviously very fit. It was great to see it live. I was glad my seats were where they were as I had an awesome view
  13. A trailer has appeared on You Tube for Coriolanus. Looks like it's for UK http://www.youtube.c...be_gdata_player Moira scotsmanstuart added the International Trailer http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=76zzEx9EYgA
  14. Here is a link to my FB for all the photos I took last night. It was a brilliant atmosphere at Parkhead and great to see Gerry look so happy fulfilling a childhood dream. He got a great reception. I was impressed with his stamina to last as long as he did. We know he's playing a former Celtic player in PTF and no doubt put alot of hard work into trying to look believable as a football player. I thought he put alot of effort in last night and should be very proud of himself. My FB is only open to Friends of Friends so some may not be able to access. Barb i believe already posted links to my You Tube footage which I had only posted to my twitter account before jacking it all in for the evening. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150289580163433.352382.810433432 Moira
  15. Thank you Suzie and Barb for re-iterating those things. Moira
  16. Gerry I'm proud of you you know the way to the HFPA heart and a good chance of a nomination is to schmooze away They even had you open the show you'll go far in 2012 Moira
  17. Ginny while i agree with you to an extent he happily posed for those pics. If they are taken by the papz he didn't mind or wouldn't have posed like that. He unfortunately has no control over pics taken from afar. Moira
  18. When I saw these pics I thought surely they can't be taken yesterday as he looks heavier in them than at the game last week and very healthy indeed. Like you said if the next pics that surface show him with short hair then that's it solved. Moira
  19. I didn't think they were actually referring to his on screen persona, more that he is being known more for off screen stuff than his on screen performances. Gerry has been very smart trying to not be stuck in any one genre as that will lead to career longevity. Regardless of his movies critical successes or sometimes lack of he has often been the best thing in them. The upside with critics and moviegoers alike not rating you much is you have the potential to blow them away with a performance. I think this could happen with MGP for Gerry. He is very understated in Coriolanus which is what is required so I hope that role too opens the critics eyes that he is very talented. Moira
  20. Where do you find these things Brenda??. Some great pics Moira
  21. http://blogs.indiewire.com/thompsononhollywood/2011/07/29/stars_working_double_time_at_toronto_2011/ GERARD BUTLER Butler is an old Toronto hand; Dear Frankie screened in 2004, Beowulf & Grendel in 2005 and Rocknrolla in 2008. Butler’s two Toronto entries are true redemption story Machine Gun Preacher (Dir: Marc Forster, Co-stars: Michelle Monaghan, Michael Shannon, Madeline Carroll) and Shakespeare’s Coriolanus (Dir: Ralph Fiennes, Co-stars: Fiennes, Brian Cox, Jessica Chastain, Vanessa Redgrave, James Nesbitt). OSCAR HOPEFULS Who among this gang will be due for some awards consideration this year? Fassbender is already in line for Jane Eyre, although either of his Toronto films could supersede that early 2011 release. Much depends on how Shame and A Dangerous Method play in Toronto; both directors could go too far to the dark side for mainstream Academy voters. Gosling is on a roll; hit Cannes genre-film Drive could help to push him into contention for Liberal Academy-fave Clooney’s The Ides of March, which boasts some of the same right stuff as Good Night and Good Luck. The Academy smiled on Alexander Payne’s Sideways, but The Descendants needs to score with critics and audiences in Toronto to achieve the same goals. Both of Mulligan’s roles seem small and supporting. As for Butler, while he is a skilled and sensitive actor (Dear Frankie), Academy actors will need to get past his larger-than-life persona in order to take him seriously. Thus far he’s been nominated for MTV and People’s Choice Awards (300) and Razzies (The Bounty Hunter).
  22. Gerry was one of many celebs attending a footbal match with Manchester United at Red Bull Stadium in New Jersey last night. Could be checking out the competition if he is indeed playing for Celtic on August 9th http://www.gettyimag...Type=image&ep=3# edited: And the pics are in the gallery
  23. Mirin it's quite common for independent films to be released on limited release to get buzz going before going on wide release. I'm thrilled both at TIFF, more so Coriolanus as I think it needs a big push. What better platform to showcase and get Pre award buzz than at one of the best most prominent festivals Moira
  24. Sue MGP is now out in UK in November if I recall rightly. Coriolanus isn't until 20 Jan. It would not surprise me with Gerry producing MGP if they decide on Glasgow again.
