  1. Thanks very much all! June I can't believe your cross stitching. I cross stitch too, but I can't imagine trying that. Although I did do Snow White and all seven Dwarfs. I too wish that Gerry could see some of my drawings. A lady in England took one of my drawings to the opening night of The Bounty Hunter. She wanted him to see it and sign it for me - how wonderful is that? But he got called inside before he got over to her side of the crowd. She did, however find a picture of him, with my picture in her hand in the background. Pretty cool! Sam Hi Bonnie, yes this is a drawing and I used an HB pencil and a graphite pencil.
  2. WOW and WOW! That's fabulous work. I can't imagine the patience you must have. I've done many counted cross stitch pictures and I know how long it takes. I'm very, very impressed. Your work is wonderful! Keep it up and please post some more. Sam
  3. Thanks very much everyone. It's lovely to post my drawings here and get your reactions. Some people just don't get why I keep on drawing him, and I know everyone here absolutely "gets" it. For the record, yes it's real not a photo. Although my goal was to make it look exactly like the photo. Thanks again, Sam
  4. Wow! What an entrance! Welcome. That's a fabulous drawing. The details you've put in his eyes is amazing. Thanks for sharing your talent! Have you done any more? Sam
  5. Thank you very much! I'm still giggling like an idiot from reading your IM's! That's so funny! Can I say here that I truly wish that I had "nailed him", but perhaps that saying too much! LOL! He has such a wonderful face! Not perfect, but perfect never the less. Lines, gray hair, fleck of brown in his eye and I could wax poetic about those lips! I don't think I'll ever tire of drawing him. And if I ever do, it's only cause I've stopped breathing!! LOL! Thank you again, your IM's just made my night! Sam
  6. Hey Gals, Gosh it's been a long time since I posted anything. Summer has kept me busy and away from my sketch pad. I was at TIFF and met a whole lot of other Gerry fans and was once again inspired to get my pencil sharpened and get back at it. A fellow GAL, Bailey, asked me to draw this picture. Sam

  10. Heidi, I received your thank you in the mail. It was a wonderful surprise! Thank you very much. It's good to know that my "babies" will brighten your day!

  11. Thanks very much! Excellent subject matter so I really can't go wrong!! LOL! Sam
  12. Agnes, Thank you very much for the dedication! I'm so glad you went back to the drawing board, as it were! You couldn't have come to a better place for encouragement and appreciation! I would never have come this far without all the GALS! Welcome back!!!! Can't wait to see more! Sam
  13. This is my very first Gerry commission piece. I'm not sure why the picture is so fuzzy when you click on it, but I've tried several different ways to attach this thumbnail and they all turn out the same. If anyone can help me with this I'd appreciate it.

    Guess Who

I'm just glad to be able to contribute! I've a friend whose little boy was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer when he was 2. He spent almost a year at Toronto Sick Kids hospital and another two years on medication. He is now 8 years old, but his cancer could reoccur at anytime, he is the only one from the group of children he spent time with at Sick Kids who is still alive. The doctors can't give his parents any sort of time frame because no child has ever lived this long. The harder we kick at this devasting disease the faster we'll find a cure!!! Sam
