  1. OH NO! That makes me so sad that Simon is closing the doors. I will have to get there one last time before he closes. What a shame. I have already started promoting for next year on Zany's Phantom Phans FB page, and have been receiving PMs asking about it. I will also very gladly and heartily promote it on GBI, which I did but not as strongly as I should have. I think we need to not wait until September to promote it. If our numbers are up next year, location won't be an issue I'm guessing. Susan, I do hope you know that I wasn't criticizing at all. I don't know the ins and outs and wasn't taking numbers into account. I completely understand that aspect of it now. But I'll put my thinking cap on and see if I can think of any place that might be as accommodating and welcoming for our Phanaticism. LOL HUGS
  2. Such a great article. I really love it when Gerry opens up a bit. I hope that when my sons are older they speak of me with as much love and respect as Gerry has for Margaret. Lisa
  3. The night was wonderful, as always. HUGE to everyone who helped put everything together and make the night PHANTASTIC. The biggest to Susan and Cheri who work so hard to put everything together for us to have a wonderful night filled with Phantomy gifts, the cake and a great time, and to everyone who provided the great raffle gifts. I'm sure we raised a nice amount for the charities, and that's the important part of the event. I do have to say that I wish we were in a restaurant that accommodated us in one room. We weren't really able to mingle and talk to other fans, etc. Having one table in the middle and then the rest of us put in the booths makes it less of a fan event and more like just a dinner. Perhaps Shin (I bet Simon would love having us) or another place could be looked into for next year? Don't get me wrong, it was a great evening. It just would have been nicer to get a chance to talk to other people, and being in the booths don't allow for any mingling - and neither does our little corner even if we did walk around. Also, it's very difficult to hear who wins which raffles when Susan has to be all over the space instead of being able to be at the table with the gifts. Such a shame the Garden closed, but I know there are other restaurants that would better accommodate our needs. This is just a suggestion, not a criticism at all. I love the Phantom Pheast so no matter where it is I'll be there ... but I think a better time would be had by all, especially those who have never been to one and would like to meet other people than the ones we already talk to. See you all on November 10, 2012 - no matter what. Lisa
  4. That's a pretty good price, too. I thought it would be more. Definitely in the budget for a great cause. Lisa
  5. Well that was misleading! You can only see it says Ireland if you LOOK FOR IT! Well, sorry about that ...
  6. Has anyone else seen the IMDb thingy showing MGP being released on November 4th?????? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1586752/ Could this POSSIBLY mean it will be more widely released then?? Lisa (who used way too many ??????)
  7. Holly and Dayna for the explanation. I feel a bit better about the whole campaign, and will continue to support MGP, GALS and Deborah in our efforts to get MGP in more theaters. It doesn't completely take away my skepticism, but I'm part of a team and I will do whatever I can to help Gerry and MGP. If it works I'll be dancing in the streets. Lisa
  8. I agree, I think someone is playing us for fools with this YOUTUBE business. If Relativity does not want to distribute the movie wider all of the clicks on a YOUTUBE video won't make a bit of difference. We can't advertise it ourselves and that is what is needed to get the word out. We are too few in the big picture. ~HUGS~ Kathy I agree. Something isn't right, and I hope we're not being made to look like fools. I don't know what to think of this whole thing anymore. I'm just very grateful I got to see it, but I know SO MANY people who want to but can't. It's truly a shame, and in the long-run it's Gerry I feel the worst for. I'm still holding out hope it'll come up here, but it doesn't look good. Lisa
  9. CNN has a transcript of the interview up: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1110/09/pmt.01.html
  10. I thought the same thing when I watched it. I'm really glad he's speaking out about it. I think a lot has to do with the respect Piers showed him. I liked this one like the interview he did with ..... the guy who interviewed him that was a politician (I can't think of his name). Intelligent and worthy of Gerry's time. Lisa, that was Mike Huckabee, a former Governor and he is also a Minister. ~HUGS~ Kathy That's him! He was also in the 2008 Presidential race. I really liked that interview he did with Gerry. Thanks, Kathy!

  12. If that's true, hopefully someone can come up with the full interview. Thanks, T! My source is reliable Lisa. She is a UK fan. I am gutted because I was at home and I thought about recording it again but my husband is understandably getting fed up with the Gerry thing so I didn't want to bring it up again on the one night we get to have together. :-( Well, that'll teach ya! LOL
  13. If that's true, hopefully someone can come up with the full interview. Thanks, T!
  14. I really really enjoyed this interview. Gerry genuinely laughed many times, he delved deep into his thoughts about filming MGP, and he handled the silliness with the class he oozes. I was sorry to hear the Barbados pics changed his "life" as he said, but we all just want him healthy and happy so more power to you, Ger. My favorite part was hearing that he STILL has a thing for Monica Belluci. Lisa
  15. If this is something Gerry wants, then I want it for him. Other than that, I can't get on the Oscar wagon just yet. If he gets nominated, hell yeah I'll be rooting for him and making an Oscar party to watch, but there's so much more before then. The GGs, the SAG Awards, etc. I'm looking to the award season with cautious optimism. I can only put out the vibe of whatever Gerry wants, I hope he gets it. Lisa
  16. We're in the "news"!!! http://www.examiner.com/film-in-toronto/gerry-butler-s-fans-launch-campaign-support-of-machine-gun-preacher
  17. I just had a thought ... it worries me a bit that there are so many posts on You Tube from people who have seen it and loved it. If the idea is to get it seen in more theaters, I'm wondering if that would hurt our chances? I would like to see more posts by people who HAVEN'T seen it and want to - thereby telling Relativity how much it needs to be in more theaters. Am I off the mark here? Lisa
  18. OMG we blew it up! Now I can't even get ON You Tube. No, the numbers haven't changed, but I think that's a cache/cookies thing. Anyway, can't get on just yet ... I think THAT sends an awesome message right there. Lisa
  19. I like the new title, and the idea that Fox 2000 is backing it. I'm really looking forward to this film.
  20. I'm there! I have goodies for the raffle, but not sure about the goodie bags yet, Veronica. I'll let you know. What is the address of the Vista? I need to find a new hotel for the weekend. Thanks! Lisa
  21. I'll be there with bells on and goodies for the raffle. Lisa
  22. Hey Frisby. Yes that's the right one. We had a chance to talk to him about that book after the Q&A on Friday night. He spoke very highly of it. Lisa Hey Lisa, Wow you spoke to the man himself! Sounds like an interesting read. It has obviously had a big impact on him. I must admit I find some of those "spooky coincidences" in life fascinating so maybe there is more to them than we realise. So happy for you that you got to speak to Gerry you lucky lady I am now going off into a dark corner to "visualise meeting him someday"!!! x It wasn't just me. A group of us who were there together. Yes we are all very blessed and lucky, but then so is he to have such wonderful devoted fans.
  23. I see The Lion King as being in the #1 spot. What am I missing?
