  1. Dear Gerry, A few stolen mements on a friend's computer - Happy happy birthday!!! Last year was good, I hope this year will be "perfect"! I'm also a Scot a long way from home, so I know that you may miss family and home today of all days - well, there's always Christmas or Hogmanay (I hope you make it home this year) I hope you have a great day. You have deserved every ounce of success you have had so far and I wish you - actually, I just deleted the word tons, it felt dangerous - I wish you just the right amount of success to make you happy. With love, Sorsha
  2. Hi Gals! Very long time no post!! Well, I was in the middle of updating avatar and personal page, when my poor computer decided it just couldn't keep on and literally went blank on me - it was nice of our friend to do his best to save it for me, but it just didn't make it .... At almost the same time, I got Shingles - and that turned out to be no fun at all!! I think I'm now over the worst, but I'm still not at all back to normal, really tired and a bit wobbly even going to the supermarket. As the nearest cybercafe is 40 minutes distant door-to-door, you can see why I haven't been around recently .... and my friends are not very happy with me when I spend more time on their computers than I do talking to them .... My loooovely friend with the PC brought it with her to visit today. I can't possibly take the time to go back and see what's been going on since I was last here, so I'm just posting this and then I'm going to switch off. I don't know when I'll be getting a new computer, not before Christmas at the very earliest - I'm so sad not to be able to come here and communicate with all of you ... Sue, you and Dan are never far from my thoughts, my love and many hugs to you both. Tracy, you too, sweetie. I hope that your brother is doing better and that your Dad is with you for a very long time still. Lisa, lots of love and the very best of luck with your writing - I know you'll do well, even as I'm typing this!!!! So Hugs and hugs and hugs to everyone else - Cassie, I'm not sure if you are almost there or not, but good luck and I can tell you that Cancer babies are just lovely!! I'll post when I can - love to you all Sorsha xxxx
  3. Solen, congratulations!!!!! Turkey has just won their match in the Euro!!!
  4. Just a feeling - don't look back, it's a waste ... Those are words I use/think so often I love your poem!! to GALS!
  5. No need to worry. I know a LOT of moderators log in as anonymous. Many members log on as anonymous simply because the more popular "belles of the ball" get inundated with PMs whenever they log on. LOL He would have to be registered member in order to log in as anonymous. To our knowledge, he has not "joined" the site. (But man, wouldn't it be fun if he did!) Also, whenever "google.com" is listed as online that is an indicator that someone is viewing the site via google. That is to say someone has searched "Gerard Butler" or the likes and has clicked the GALS link which has been generated as a result of the search. Also, unless Gerard has successfully registered as a GAL, made at least 12 posts and has convinced us that he's an Over18 GAL, there's no way he has access to the Gutter and/or Over 18 areas. (As discussed here, until the Over 18 section has been "unmasked" by an Administrator, you don't even know it's there) (I say "GAL" because our PAL members are so far and few between that we "know" most of them. Regardless, even if he had Over18 PAL access -- he would only have the "unisex" O18 section available to him and not the GALS-only portion of the boards.) I suppose it could be POSSIBLE he's a "cloaked" member, but I doubt he has that kind of time. I'm sure your secrets are safe. Thanks Holly, I don't go in the Gutter or else I'd be really cringing right now at such a thought being possible!!!! But thank you for putting our minds a bit more at rest ......
  6. So now whenever I see "1 Anonymous User" at the bottom of the page I post on, I'll always wonder and tremble just a bit!!
  7. Oh, that is so beautiful - I'm glad I have kleenex in the house! I can't see quite straight to type! I think a lot of us here have found just what you describe - so many of the women here are strong, sweet, wonderful characters, who do live life on purpose, I feel very fortunate to have come here and discovered that .... and proud to "know" so many, although the ones I'm talking about, typically, probably won't recognise that I'm talking about *them*! Soul friends, it's truly a lovely thing ... once again, many of us have found that here.... Your poem is one of the most beautiful I've ever read. Living life on purpose is how we should all live but alas only a small percentage of us do it .. I can't type any more right now, but thank you so much for sharing this with us, Cheri. I'm typing this immediately after reading your post, and might not be very coherent, I hope I am, because I really want to thank you properly for sharing this with us
  8. Thanks Green Eyes! Well, I'm glad we got that cleared up "from the horse's mouth", as it were .... (if the comment is true) Yeah, me too Frannie, I wish the media would get the real story out there - my blood started to boil when I read that other "Spy" article!! LOL!! So the moral of the story is girls, if this ever happens to you on a date, find the waiter and ask "Did he pay and leave?"!!!! Mind you, if you're in a pub you'd have already paid when you got the drinks, so that wouldn't work .... Oh, well it all, just swallow your pride and wait!!!! LOL But isn't that just typical Gerry? Adorkable! It always looks like he has so many friends everywhere .... I love that about him! And I'm glad I got the story right from the very beginning
  9. hi! How could *anybody* not know she was gay? So much publicity over all that with Anne Heche etc etc .... Maybe it was before ...? Anyway, I felt so sorry for the waste of a good interview opportunity there .... I'd love a double kiss from him - I do that all the time, living here but it would be sooooo special from Gerry!! LOL!!! Mmmm soft beard .... I *have* to say, I adore your Frannie Siggy!! I think that's one of the photos I'm always going on about when he is soooo relaxed and happy looking in Italy! Off to bed for me .....
  10. Nope!! Never a freebie!! LOL!!! I posted here a while ago and *had* to stop, because of the "no freebie" rule!! LOL!! And I was having such a goooood time!!!! LOL!! I *really* wanted to finish up the week with a couple of days in Bora Bora, in bungalow over the ocean ....... *sigh* ......... Have fun you single GALS, have fun ..... !! Funny you should mention *that* drink, I had a "Sex on the Beach" a couple of weeks ago! Verrrry yummy! With a view on the Eiffel Tower, all lit up and and then it sparkles every hour, on the hour, for ten minutes - we saw it sparkle twice, I never get tired of watching it, I'm like a little girl every time it starts up .... LOL
  11. !! I had
  12. Now you've all got me watching youtubes!! Lisa, you want Beo, I got some Beo for you : http://youtube.com/watch?v=5h3GPtS4U7M This one kills me EVERY time I watch it - if I need a laugh, I watch this!
  13. Hi Ballerina, welcome to GALS!! I just love it when he is "enthusiastic" like that! So over-the-top cute *sigh* Well, I've never seen Vin Diesel being "Vin Diesel", so I can't comment on him really, but if he's Riddick and I need someone to save my a** in the 25th Century, It wouldn't be Buck Rogers I'd scream for!! Maybe she just felt she wasn't woman enough to handle Gerry - understandable for some, I suppose!
  14. Hi Deb! How are the jeans? Thanks for posting this, I had it squirrelled away!! (as in put away and forgotten about, like squirrels do sometimes ...) I love when he goes all serious when he gets asked if the law degree came in handy - and then, as he remembers, he gets that wicked smile on his face!!! Too cute!! I wish I'd seen him and the band perform .... There's the Men's Health interview in the list of "related videos" on the right, which I love too What was *wrong* with Ellen Degeneris when she interviewed him? Or is she always like that with her guests? I've never seen any of her shows ..... It was not pleasant at all to watch, something somewhere was just not right .... and Gerry was just lovely, as usual ....
  15. Just a little something that made think of Gerry *immediately* I saw it!! I'm not sure if this thread is the appropriate place to put it, but here it is anyway : http://msn.match.com/msn/article.aspx?arti...6&GT1=26000 I would say that Gerry is well over the 336 hour mark already, just from his film work!!! *sigh* Now we all know what to do next time we have a headache .....
  16. Those youtube links won't work for me! Anna, the more the merrrierrr!!!! Eurostar is great - sooo much easier and quicker than using planes between Paris and London. I can get to my daughter's flat, door to door, in not even four hours! I love it! Lisa, I think too that you need a bit of wind down time ... I think you're sort of on the edge of the pool, just about to take the plunge, you need to take some metaphorical deep breaths and do some relaxation stuff before diving off. BTW, I'm sure the water will be just fine!! Pilar, Woman!!!! I cannot get the feel of a soft beard out of my mind!!!!! EM, I just posted in the Gerrycall thread, that I'm getting to have more and more the feeling that Gerry *does* peek in here and that I just don't know how I feel about that - this is what I mean!!! LOL How could I ever look him in the face (like *that* would ever happen - but you know what I mean) when I write such things? I'm all squirmy and embarrassed here just to think of such a thing LOL .....
  17. Hi Bénédicte! Super! No, we'll go to Laduree sur les Champs or Mariage Frères au Foubourg St Honoré, depending on whether you like coffee or tea! Angelina's is awfully pretty but the staff are pretty awful! How did your son's French go? Thank you for the invitation too - and thanks for the wedding wishes!
  18. I can't wait to see these films, especially Burns of course! Gerry was so enthusiastic whenever he talked about it in interviews, he'll be really happy to be doing it, I'm sure....

    post Vegas Blues

Hi all! I'm so happy for you all that such a great time was had!! All your photos are super! Thanks for posting them and your stories so quickly so that all us non-Vegas GALS could participate a little bit in the fun! We all now know who *never* to ask a ride from!!! What a great way to start off the new turn to your life, Lisa. I loved that photo of you with G Kennedy!!! And Moira too! OMG!!! You had a threesome!!! LOL!!! Congratulations to all of you who won things, brava Kitty, *great* vid!! I hope your um *cough* feels better!! Deb, JEANS!!! I'd have them altered to fit me, if I were you, and probably never take them off again, except for washing from time to time, until they fell apart from old age LOL!!! I know I had more to say, but I'll have to go over all the posts to find out what I forgot .... Good luck everyone whp has the PVB's! Thanks for all these great memories that you are sharing with us!
  20. Or maybe she thought that *he* had left *her* in the lurch - I would have wondered if it had been me, and he'd disappeared when I came back from the loo .... Either way it's sad! LOL! No really it's sad!! OK I'm sorry , I'm a nasty person
  21. Hello GALS! Well, my head is spinning from reading the posts of the Vegas stories thread! What a time you all had! I'm so happy for you all that it was so verrrry cool!!! Such great photos from so many of you already!!! And Sara (and Mary) who got so close and yet ended up so far - that was so frustrating to read! I hope your leg isn't too painful and heals as quickly as possible .... Swannie, your new song is so very beautiful.... I can't wait to read your book, good luck with the re-write! Being at Vegas 2008 really seems to have had a profound effect on some of us, Swannie, Lisa (well you had already made your giant leap, Brava!), Susan and Alice, to name a few ... I think someone already said it, but I'll say it again, in more or less the same words : "Thank you Gerry, for giving up being a lawyer and becoming an actor!" Because of our initial admiration and love for this man, we've met so many other women from all over the States and indeed, all over the world - and then so many of us "take flight" in so many different ways, inspiring and encouraging each other to find "our purpose" or to continue in "our purpose" if it had fallen by the way, or perhaps just to realise that we haven't found it yet and to start the h**l looking for it !! LOL Once again, it has been said so many times, by me and others, but I just *have* to say it again, this really is a very special place and I sooooo hope that Gerry realises that about GALS and knows that just by existing, he has caused so many things to happen, like a pebble thrown into a pond, his "ripples" have far reaching effects! Over twelve thousand dollars!! Fantastic!! OK Peggy, no Drambuie for you then!! I'm sorry I mentioned it.... but now I'll think of you every time I have one (Scottish way, neat!) and smile about a lovely lady I "know" who has a lot of courage (Thanks again Gerry!) Bénédicte, I loved your photos! As I said in the last floor, please, laisse moi savoir la prochaine fois que tu viennes à Paris, on pourrait prendre un café ensemble si tu as le temps?!? I know lots of really nice places ..... EM, Could I have a "Gerry Kiss" please, they look delicious, but it's their name that attracts me the most Actually I would like lots and lots of Gerry kisses ..... Yes, you guessed I'm not talking cookies any more Anna, I'll be thinking of you and Sue on Friday then, I'm going to go to Galeries Lafayette to try to find the exact shade of pashmina (fuschia pink) that I need to go with my dress for the wedding in Lebanon this summer. The dress is sleeveless and I'll need something for covering up a bit in church, before the reception - unless everybody is going to wear something different in church, which has just crossed my mind.... AAArgh! I'm going to have to find out .... I'll be getting my shoes for the dress in GL anyway, going to wear them a few times at least, have to break them in for the reception - all that dancing! My dress is black with a fuschia pink underdress that shows at hem, neckline and straps, So I'll be taking it with me to get the right colour of pink and I'll probably get black patent but if possible not strappy sandals, but definitely and unfortunately with heels, (In what will be perhaps an outside restaurant at the hotel with about 90° weather, I think I'm going to have my work cut out for me, to find something that will be comfortable for the whole afternoon and then the evening too!) I hope your spa weekend was lovely! So, welcome "home" everybody from Vegas, here's to purpose and empowerment! Hugs to all!
