  1. Izabetta contacted me tonight to let me know she is getting married on St. Paddy's Day!!! I want to offer her and that hunky man of hers my most sincere congratulations! And since I'm half Irish and you are getting married on St. Paddy's Day, Sis... May St. Patrick guard you wherever you go, and guide you in whatever you do and may his loving protection be a blessing to you always. May you have love that never ends, lots of money, and lots of friends. Health be yours, whatever you do, and may God send many blessings to you! Love you Sis!!

  4. I think the face of fandom is changing personally and we have to realise the Gerry of POTO, the struggling actor, isn't there anymore. He evolved into a star and we, the fans, made him what he is today in a way. Deep down, Gerry, the man, is the same we always knew and loved, but his career is not what it used to be and will never be that again. Why dwell in the past? I don't see this as a sad thing. Far from it. I think we need to embrace what he has become and be proud of it. And we have to look forward to what he will evolve into in the future as well. Frankly, I think the craze that followed POTO was quite excessive. I don't think, other than Elvis or the Beatles, any other actor in the beginning of his career had to deal with such a huge wave of adoration. Now we do see that for younger actors like Robert Pattison. Thank God Gerry was older when he had to face the adulation of the fans. He was better equiped emotionally than the young ones who are now facing this phenomenon. You know what gets me? We tend to always refer to POTO as Gerry's best role when in fact it wasn't. Far from it. Yes it was full of emotions and Gerry does play the tormented soul like no other actor can, but composition wise it left to be desired. When we take a step back and look solely at the roles he played, I think the Stranger and Clyde were two characters that showed off Gerry's range alot better. He was intense in both roles, subdued, yet solid and deep for the first one, and tormented, obsessed and insane for the second. I'm looking forward to what he choses next. I have no doubt he will continue to entertain us for many years and we have yet to see the full range of his talent as an actor. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing him play a dramatic role.
  5. Reported on Twitter today : @gerardbutlernet Gerard Butler asked by fans about Burns outside the '09 GQ Men of the Year Awards & says "it will happen." I guess Burns is still on Gerry's agenda!
  6. Dear AbandonThought, This brought back so many memories for me.. You see, I was stuck in Law School a few years ago too. I never wanted to be a lawyer but my family had high hopes and so I went into that field. I was miserable and in debt up to my neck after a year as well. I just reached a point where I couldn't take it anymore and I ended up quitting. It was the most difficult decision of my entire life and probably one of my darkest periods! I left school for 6 months. Went to do odd jobs, flipping burgers, etc.. After 6 months I went back to school. I had no idea what I wanted to do, so I thought I'd go in political science. I did get a degree in that field and another one in journalism and foreign languages. To this day I have never regretted my choice to quit Law. And my family understood after a while and today they agree that it just wasn't what I was supposed to do. I now work as a press attaché. I write speeches, press releases, organise public events for a politician. Although I do like parts of my jobs, it's also very demanding and stressfull. I'm now working on becoming a writer, something I should have been doing all my life since it's a passion. But you know what.. I don't regret my past experiences. If anything, it taught me that life is a succession of trials and mistakes and that we learn and grow from each one of them. In the end, you get to know yourself and then you can work on making your dreams and aspirations come true. Gerry realised it sooner than most of us and actually reached out to make his own dreams come true. And he succeeded! Danielle
