  1. Interesting! I never knew there was any intention of doing an Outlander movie. Regardless of who gets what part, it should be an exciting film. I doubt it will be widely received by anyone that is not familiar with the book, unless they use A list celebrities.
  2. I would choose Raoul for Mondays through Fridays and the Phantom for the weekends.
  3. You've said it all right here. I'd only add that it was a very emotional film.
  4. Can I pick the deleted scene where he was at the travel agent and he "practiced" his death by falling in the floor? No? ok, then I pick the scene on the road when he first met Holly.
  5. Nim's was my first official Gerry movie! I loved it. I took my kids to see it the day it opened. And when one of my favorite songs played at the end, I nearly fell out of my seat.
  6. I bought 300 on DVD because it was on sale for $13.99. I never did see it in the theater. I wasn't too excited about this movie. It was hard for me to take it seriously. I enjoyed the special effects and some portions of the movie. But the battle scenes were too much. I think the best part of the movie was this line.... "THIS........IS.........SPARTA!!!!!!" And that's about it. I did go see "Meet The Spartans" before I saw 300 though. So that may have been why I couldn't take 300 very seriously. A friend of mine said that her favorite part of the movie was the red capes. lol....The whole movie got even weirder when Xerxes showed up. I mean, how creepy was that character? ick.
  7. It's worth saying that the more elusive he is, the more intent the paparazzi will be in seeking him out. That's show business, I guess. He can't walk down the street alone anymore. Or he could devise a strategy for times when he finds himself swarmed like that. He could point in a direction opposite of him and say to the paparazzi, "LOOK!!! oh wow! Is that Bono?! Bono from U2?!" And when everyone's attention shifts to the place he's pointing at, he can run like hell.
  8. This is brilliant! Being sober no doubt helps to keep the Hollywood scene in proper perspective. Because Hollywood is chock full of bull. lol... I can't keep up with all of his movies! He's a busy man. I like Madonna too. And not simply because I live in the town where she was born. Which is also the namesake for that tartan clad band "The Bay City Rollers." Whoa......I'm having a 6 degrees of separation moment right now.
  9. That's good news about UofM Flint! My hubby isn't too keen on it! But the Flint campus has the Computer Science classes! Ann Arbor is nice though! I've been downtown there for a theater concert. I have to say that I'd rather fly out of Flint Bishop than Detroit Metro any day of the week. lol.... Keep in touch! We'll see what comes up around August then. :)
  10. oh! the Departed was an excellent movie!! Left me completely gutted! Jack Nicholson would be perfect in the role of criminal mastermind! He's so sick in the head!
  11. No I didn't miss the point. I understood the point very well. I'm going to stay home. And not bother the man. Pxie, Please don't feel that way. I was very angry when I read some of these responses as well. I am over 40 and not some moron that doesn't understand that this man needs and wants his privacy. I am a huge fan of his and we here in Michigan just don't have the opportunity to see someone like his caliber ever come to our neck of the woods. The state of Michigan is going through some very poor economical times right now and this film is being shot here. There was a new tax law passed here 2-3 months ago offering tax breaks to production companies who would choose to shoot a movie here in our beautiful state. I will find the information some where on the internet to show you. We don't need to be preached to about how to act. We are adults and are just fans who finally have the opportunity to be close to a movie that Gerry is filming and would like to see how a movie is filmed. I am sorry if this makes some of you angry, but I don't need to be told how to act, that's my mothers job. We are all members of GALS and enjoy this mans work all the same. I am here to see his work and see pictures of him and to enjoy the company of many of these women who are here. I feel like some of these posts were written without compassion for those of us that may have an opportunity to finally see Gerry in person. We are not crazy stalkers and Pxie I would be glad to meet you in the Motor City for a weekend to go see filming. I could make a new wonderful friend and spend a weekend of fun during the hot summer month of August. Dawn You weren't just talking about going to the set. You were talking about trying to find his hotel. You do need to be told how to act if you think that is appropriate behavior. I'm beginning to think some of you take your fandom waaaaaaaaaay too seriously. If Dawn and I meet in Detroit with any other fans of Gerard's, let me put your mind at ease. We will not accost him at his hotel.
  12. Gotta love Michigan! But you gotta believe that we have some picturesque landscapes to film at! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somewhere_in_Time_(film) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Hotel_%...kinac_Island%29
  13. I do agree that trying to locate someone's hotel is not appropriate. I can't stand it when my neighbor (the shopping mall Santa Claus) peers through my front window before he knocks to ask to borrow a tool from my garage. So no worries! I'm sure us Michiganders will be respectful!
  14. And trust me - it's hard to breathe when you do!!! hehehe! oh wow....I'd suffocate gladly!

I could make a new wonderful friend and spend a weekend of fun during the hot summer month of August. Dawn People in Michigan are good people. I moved here from So. California in 1997 and spent most of my life in the shadow of Hollywood. Never once did I set foot IN Hollywood though, if that tells you anything. I've met plenty of celebrities in my 34 years. I went to school with child stars. So to me, Gerry is just an actor. He's not Jesus. I also fully understand what is appropriate behavior. I'm also familiar with fans that obsess over "protecting" a celebrity from other fans as well. Although I understand the warnings and I respect their opinions, I can't help but wonder if they would "knee jerk" react the same as us if Gerry was filming in their backyard. I'll check back in more close to August 18th. I'll be in Colorado helping my family take inventory on a new business this summer, but I expect to be back in Michigan before the end of July. Even if a Gerry sighting is not in the universe's plans for us, we can say we might have breathed in the same air molecules as him for a day.
  16. In the words of Aretha Franklin..... All I'm askin' is for a little respect.... lol... oh yeah! St. Louis! hahahaha! I hear ya. The two most dangerous towns in the united states.... It's a hard reputation to live down I gotta say! Although Flint runs a very close second to Detroit in the state. Can't say I'm planning on buying real estate in Flint. I'm considering transferring to Uof M Flint though. Please pray for me.
  17. Less than what 5 gals getting excited over Gerard Butler coming to Detroit is really very little cause for alarm. It's Detroit. I'd be more concerned about him getting carjacked than stalked! Yeah, I've heard about that in Detroit. Hey, there you go!! That's how you can meet him! LMAO! Someone should suggest that he doesn't stop at red lights. That's the advice I received from friends that live in Ecorse (that grew up in Lincoln Park). "Whatever you do, do NOT stop at red lights. Not even the police stop at red lights in some parts of town." Actually, downtown Detroit never fully recovered from the riots. It's sad too. Because Motown (although very run down) is place full of very decent ppl. But they're very tough ppl. The city is experiencing times where the politicians in charge are worthless. And manufacturing is leaving the area, leaving ppl unemployed. I once met the brother-in-law of the high priestess of punk rock (Patti Smith) in Detroit. Fred "Sonic" Smith of the MC5 was her husband (RIP Sonic). It was a chance encounter. Quite a fella! Very interesting to talk to. If Gerry is reading! (hardy har har)...let me know if you'd like to meet at Cheli's after a Tigers game!!!!! http://chelischilibar.com/ I'll ditch my hubby for the day!!!! If the movie is about a criminal running business from his prison cell, I venture to guess that filming might be done at Jackson State Prison? And nobody in their right mind would want to be an extra on that kind of a set.

  20. Katherine, I live about an hour away from Detroit. Let's find out where he'll be staying (probably Birmingham? Lots of famous types stay there) and go camp out!! Njk Birmingham might be a good place but it could be Troy, or there is the new hotel downtown at the casino which is supposed to be very nice.I am going to be on the hunt with you as well. Dawn I live 2 hours due north of Detroit! Count me in for whatever master plans may arise! I would like to re-iterate what Phoenixgirl and some of the other long time Gerry fans have said YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED I am not in the habit of preaching to anybody or try to patronize people - especially what appears to be newbies on this board who maybe don't know the score and I honestly hope you are all joking but I can't stress highly enough to keep away from where Gerry is working. I know when he was filming Shattered he was asked to move hotel because of crazed fans - or so the rumours go!. I think this film more than any other is so important to him as it is the first film where he is actually producing and whilst I am sure on the face of things Gerry would probably be very nice to any fan he came across near the set we do not want to start to annoy him and he pulls back from fans. If you read back posts of the last year because of Gerry's "sudden" rise to fame he has unfortunately not been as "accessible" as he once was and we have to appreciate every little bit of his time that he can afford us these days so we have to keep on his good side. I see nothing wrong in turning up at premieres or talk shows where he is making a public appearance but to actually start to infringe on his personal space ie going to his hotel if you find it is a no no - no matter how tempting. If anybody lives in the vicinity of where he is filming and happens to bump into him then good for you but PLEASE do not go out of your way to track him down. I will get off my soap box now. Moira oh. ok then. I'll just stay home then. Very sorry. Now I'm thinking this though: if he's the kind of actor that gets pissy about fans (considering that's what Hollywood is all about) then I guess I'm a fan of the wrong kind of actor.

Ok, am I the only one seeing the humor is this picture? lol this is the pic I was referring to... http://gbgalsgallery.com/v/roles/uglytruth..._42608.jpg.html My super sleuth skills tell me that the head belongs to a blonde with a full set of sharp teeth! oops... did I say that out loud?
  23. Amazing work. You're a natural!
