  1. Isaboo As I told you earlier on My Space - I am green with envy but it a good way! Seriously, I am proud of you for as someone said earlier - stepping out of your comfort zone and doing this. I know how important this was to you and how excited you seemed. I am so glad that it worked out so well for you. This indeed has been a good early birthday gift for you and I bet you literally floated the whole way back to OH. The pics are great and you ladies clean up nicely as they say in the south. 5. Clicked keep clicking Ladies, we are making progress!
  6. Thanks for posting these - ah, shorts, he does have calves. LOL I wish they weren't the long baggy shorts, I could stand to see some more beautifully porportioned thighs myself! He looks relaxed doesnt' he?
  7. Isaboo - go Girl, let loose! I wish I could go. At least I would be in GREAT company. I am sooooo envious ladies that are attending - please enjoy and give us good, juicy details when you come back!
  8. Sigh, just got through watching this movie yet again - there is nothing decent on t.v. - Sigh, I love this movie. There is so much 'unsaid' in this movie. It just melts me everytime he kisses her in the doorway. For that little kiss, I just lean in everytime I watch it as if it is the first time for me. I wonder if he and Emily did another movie together if the chemistry would be there still? Many stars do it (Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy to name a few). I would like to see them in something again or even the actress (whose name escapes me at this moment) who plays Marie - I would love to see him in something with her. Heck, I would even take seeing him with the boy that plays Frankie - his chemistry is good with all three actors.
  9. Clicked!!!!!!! Joanna, thanks Sweetie for your kindness and support. I haven't always shared this with people and honestly don't know why I decided to this time but it needed to be said and show others who might be lurking and reading that there is hope our there. Dragon Slayer and Fran - your words literally moved me to tears and I am so appreciative to be in your company. Irish, Heaven has an angel - there are no words for me to say that will make it any better and I am so very truly sorry for your loss. Right after I left my husband, our neighbor's daughter who was in a very similar relationship with her alcoholic deputy sheriff husband died at his hands and then he committed suicide. It rocked me to the core because this woman had been in nursing school with my ex husband (he was a ER nurse oddly enough) and we never had a clue because she had gotten so good at hiding it. As I type this I am crying because this subject brings up such a frightening reminder that this has to stop. Keep clicking ladies, keep clicking! Together, maybe we can stop this or at least get resources to women who are very much like we were one day.
  10. bamms and galpal, thank God you both are survivors and no longer in danger....so many are not so fortunate....my step daughter died because of it. So this thread is very personal for me and I also am so proud of all of us who continue to "CLICK". hugs, Sue Irish, my eyes are full of tears reading your loss....there are no words my friend. I am so very sorry to hear that you lost her because of an abuser. Bamms, I am glad you came through this in one piece - keep clicking my friend and together we will all beat this and make the world a better place.
  11. Thanks Dragon Slayer - and I agree with you 100%. I remember when I finally realized it was time to get out - I was having him arrested for putting me in a headlock and punching me in the face at 2:30 a.m. while my children were safe inside my friend's house screaming for him to stop. As if that wasn't enough, I then go to take the warrant for his arrest and the magistrate was an old classmate of mine from high school. We had been in band together and he was 3 years older and would flirt with me on the football field. His name was Billy and I remember it distinctly because he (at first) didn't recognize me and I was so embarrassed for him to see me in this condition, blood soaked white t shirt and dried blood in my hair and on my mouth. He looked me straight in the eye and then realized who I was and said "you don't have to live this way" and I remember it stabbing me through the numbness I was feeling at the time. It was like the first time in years, I felt something and it shook me up. Believe it or not, that wasn't the night I left him - instead, I waited 3 months to get my sh*t together. He had stopped drinking for this brief time and was managable. The night I left him it was horrific and I am lucky to be alive right now and he doesn't remember a damn thing about it because he blacked out from being so drunk and getting arrested for a DUI. There was one other incident after I left him where he broke into my house and threatened to kill me (drunk again) and the police literally had to physically remove him from my house. That night before Thanksgiving, I stood in the police station by this time 10 months away from him and I remember thinking - is this ever going to end? That night the police officer told me that my ex was dead serious about hurting me and that I needed to take steps to make sure that he never had the opportunity to hurt me or worst again. I took out an Ex Parte' order and luckily he never bothered me again. I had the court set up visitation under my discretion and we divorced 3 years later. I am clicking daily because I know that it is a worthwhile cause. I contribute to many things like this because I am a walking billboard for this and I am grateful to God that I survived it and my life is so full of blessings now. God bless and thanks for the kind words. Deb
  12. I just clicked too. I was the victim of domestic abuse throughout my marriage (he is an alcoholic) and strangley enough, it didn't get physical until the end. The emotional abuse and verbal abuse was there throughout and what I think some women don't realize is that this is abuse. Once you are in this situation it is hard to get out and it wasn't until I did finally leave that I realized how bad my situation was and how it affected my children and me. I was treated for post traumatic stress disorder/depression for a while because of it and thank God that I came through that dark period of me life. It is 12 years out of that horrible situation and I am happily remarried to a man who has shown me nothing but love and support. I will continue clicking daily for this cause because I know that there is light at the end of the dark tunnel of domestic abuse.
  13. Being a Police fan as a teenager and later a Sting fan, this made my day to see favorite men together. Both men look great - Sting is so sexy and handsome and Gerry is just as sexy and handsome as ever. Thanks for posting. I would have loved to been there myself.
  14. Wow, great pics of him (as usual). He looks happy, relaxed and enjoying the city. Thanks for posting. And....my husband is a JG fan and we are from Jr. country (NC). My husband like Jr. but has been a JG fan since he came on the scene. Me, I could care less as my stepfather was a huge NASCAR fan and I grew up listening to it as he watched the races from our t.v. on Sundays. Give me NFL football any day. I think Gerry is just a nice man who has a lot of friends in a lot of different places.
  15. Yep, I totally agree Anesidora...and no, I have 20/25 vision in both eyes I am proud to say. My vision is fine and I know what he tends to like - need to go shop for a dress now.
  16. Wow, on the Just Jared site....they can be a little harsh about him huh? The information about Jasmine was interesting. I have noticed that he is normally with dark haired, olive skin or darker women. Hey some men prefer blondes, some prefer big breast, some prefer that exotic look - so far, most of the women he is photographed with are exotic looking and dark haired. Hmmm, I know a little lady in Spain that fits that description.
  17. I highly recommend anything by Joel Osteen. My husband and I read his first book together and saw him in Charlotte. He is the happy pastory (or what the press calls him). He always has a positive message. Rabbi Shmuley - I would be interested in hearing what he has to say.
  18. Yes, that is the movie I have been wanting to see but was wondering why when I saw the trailer in December, I had not seen it advertised yet. I love JDM but I LOVE Colin Firth, always have, always will. He is my Mr. Darcy and I will always love him for that portrayal. I can't wait to see this movie - thanks for reminding me. I might have to take my Mom to see it since she is an August baby and JDM is one of the two Irish men that she commented could put his shoes under her bed any day while watching PSILY!
  19. Did anyone else notice the "Oneness University" at the top of the pictures? I know most were looking at him but for some reason, my eyes looked up and noticed that. Being the Google Queen that I am, I found this link: http://www.onenessuniversity.org/oneness/cms/home/ This makes me think he was there for a spiritual journey of sorts. He does look relaxed and refreshed in the pictures. I like his look too, comfortable and chic. I prefer this look to some of his others actually. He is a very handsome man indeed and it really is hard to find many things that don't look good on him.
  20. Hi Frannie - actually, I am not a big fan of the hat....I prefer him in a baseball cap instead. I think that fits his personality better. JMHO. He does look good in anything so it was a nice day to see the pics on here. About his height that was mentioned earlier. Isn't he 6'2? My husband is 6'2 and my oldest son is 6'3 1/2 and women love them because of their height. I cannot tell you how many women comment to my husband and son about their height. I guess they stand out over most people. I wonder how many women just swoon at the sight of Gerry walking towards them on a street or in an airport? I know I would. Being that tall he is going to stand out and I agree with whomever posted it - in "The Jury" he looked especially tall. I think it had something to do with the fact that he wasn't really buffed up like he is in later movies. That AA scene does stick out to me especially.
  21. Ah, he is just such a sweetheart isn't he? I love that he is so down to earth. "and then I am doing a cooking show" - loved it!
