  1. Hi to both Mary and Janine in South Africa. I have sent you both a message. I hope to hear from you! I have been a huge Gerry fan for about 10 years now; we have a very small fanclub here in Cape Town. We met last month to celebrate Gerry's birthday. I handed out PS I Love You chocolate bars (that's a candy bar to you gals over the Atlantic!) and after much talking and drooling we watched RocknRolla together. It was great fun. I hope we can set up an email group. I have time for things like that! Take care Mooi bly louise Hi to both Mary and Janine in South Africa. I have sent you both a message. I hope to hear from you! 2. Och aye the noo -- I should rather say: Hello from South Africa! my post reads like I am only greeting fans in SA. Silly me. But that's what Gerry does: fries the brain... Eagerly awaiting info ... xx lulu
  3. Hello everybody from South Africa! no, I'm not Gerry -- or anywhere near him ... AS FAR AS I KNOW -- I have had a rough year to date, and have also moved to Cape Town. So lots of absence from GALS etc etc but am catching up today, and what do I read??? ***Gerry's in SA /?????*** where? how do I find out where they're shooting/staying/travelling etc etc?? We have our little GB fanclub here in CT (I used to stay here before) and we are all frantic trying to find out news. It seems to be very low key. I am on the net everyday, and not a word has been seen by me about his presence here. SO:: anybody got any info for me? What a chance just to see him from a distance.... it's all I ask ... But please don't worry about Gerry's safety: things are not as bad in SA as is made out by the press. Look at the brilliant Soccer World Cup we put on: a wonderful success and it has left us SAns feeling so good about ourselves. Yes, there is a public servants' strike on at the moment: we have a democracy where it is allowed. As opposed to the bad old days... And if I find out anything or OMG actually SEE the man you will all be the first to know!!!! great big Gerry-hugs to you all louise
  4. Hey! is another South African posting to Gals?? Barry Ronge is a solid reputable film critic in SA and if he gives Gerry the thumbs-up, you know it counts!! Our Gerry is heading for the top... louise south africa ----------------
  5. MNR 2009: Die Skotse akteur, Gerard Butler, is Dinsdagaand aangewys as GQ-manstydskrif se man van die jaar. Butler is bekend vir sy rolle in “The Phantom of the Opera” en “300”. GQ kies jaarliks ‘n bekende om hierdie bekroonde titel te ontvang. (Joerg Koch, AFP) Yeeee haah!!! Gerry is becoming well-known enough for even Afrikaans newspapers to pick up on him. My gerrypal here in South Africa sent me the English version of this announcement, and I idly looked at the Afrikaans version of my homepage, and THERE HE WAS !! beautiful photo and all. Aaaah we just love you so much Gerry... I do hope I get to watch the Jonathan Ross show. I have watched TUT 3 times, Gamer once (couldn't understand most of it: not my kind of movie, and the flickering and b&w didn't do our Gerry any favours) so am keenly looking forward to Law Abiding Citizen. Santa is bringing me TUT ... Love to all my Gerrypals all over the world louise
  6. Hi there from South Africa, where my week - no, year! - was made by seeing THREE movie posters up for Gerry in one theatre alone. Currently on is The Ugly Truth ( seen it 3 times so far ) first night for Gamer was last night - went to see that too - but I can't make sense of films like that; and the poster for Law Abiding Citizen is up already, although I think it is due out in December, our summer. Have made the theatre manager pinkie-promise to give me the BIG BIG poster for TUT when it is finished. What to do with it.... ? Bwahaha - glue it to my bedroom ceiling?? hang it behind my pc? back of the bathroom door? give it to my best Gerry-friend for Christmas?? ouch... What I want to say is that I had been feeling that now, soon, Gerry must step up and do a classic. Mr Rochester would be a good one, from Jane Eyre. Something to cement his place as a serious actor, apart from all that oozing charm and sax appeal and and and oh I'm drooling again. So bad for the keyboard. So -- Shakespeare? is this it? Oh, I just want so much for him - he deserves it all. So talented, so handsome, so cute, so gorgeous, so gerrylicious ... Hugs to all you faithful Gerry fans from sunny South Africa lulu
  7. Hey all you lucky Gerryotics who have already seen the movie RocknRolla - we are only getting it end of January --- what a loooooooong wait .... of course the accent doesn't faze us South Africans as much.... but Gerry could speak Martian and we would still understand .... true love speaks to the heart .... and we all understand Body Language, don't we ??? .... oh, my and that body can speak volumes ... waiting patiently for the day .... sigh .... hmmmm ... what shall I watch to tide me over -- The Phantom, PSILY, 300, Attilla ( ooh now there's a body to die for ) anything will do......... Gerrystheman FOREVER !!!!!!!!
  8. Gerry can Hunt my Bounty any day. ** waving from South Africa ** GERRY'S THE MAN !!! Gerry Christmas to all you Gals
  9. Our hero is not so wellknown here: we get most of the movies, but we have a relatively small population of possible fans. I have a great friend who is just as crazy about him as I am, and we swop pics, stories and generally disgrace ourselves by drooling over our pcs. Anyone else in S Africa who's a GBGal? I just think his career has been managed beautifully; right choices all along, and he is heading straight for the top. He is STAR quality. My husband is half Scottish - aren't i lucky??? but he ain't Gerry..... sigh GERRYSTHEMAN !!!!!
  10. Does that man ring my bells or what?? now, please will someone tell me exactly which mag this is, which version/country, and what exactly was the one that he was on the cover of a month or two ago?? In the small town where I live, in South Africa, there is not a huge selection of mags available, and damn I missed that cover one. I am just counting the days for RocknRolla to come out... and I am going to visit many friends in Cape Town in Dec, where the only other known Gerry fan in SA lives... we are going to have a Gerry feast.. i will take down all my dvds, and a dvd I am making of Attilla, which just showed on our national TV channel believe it or not. Wow does he look good. I luuurve this site and thanks to all who make it so colourful and attractive. Well you can't really go wrong with a site for The Gerry, now can you? Gerry-hugs to you all Louise South Africa
  11. Way back when the original musical played in London, in the mid 80s?, we bought the double cassette tape with Brightman and Crawford singing. We just loved the music and played it over and over. That was as far as it went because back in those bad days, Equity didn't allow us to see UK films or shows. So when we heard that a film was being made, we were very keen, but had never heard of these people... so Gerry knocked me for six from the start. I didn't know his name but when I saw him I fell in love for ever. I know every word and every move and I wish I were Emmy... I often drive alone and then I put in the CD and play it really LOUD... Oh.My.Word. And my husband's mother is pure Scottish, so I just love that accent - it is so special. My son loves him too and is proud to be 1/4 Scot !! with Gerry-hugs to you all from South Africa ...
  12. hi - this is not Gerry???? no way. not those eyes, not that mouth. who is it??
