    Hello!

Great article, very interesting!!!!!! I enjoy learning more about him, how passionate he is about his work, I love it!!!!! That's why I love him so much!!!!! I should say we love him so much!!!!

    Josée

sue grint - gbutts greatest London fan - I went to see ohf today and its brilliant and gerrys back in to his kick arse ways like in 300, which I do enjoy, but I also enjoy his roles in other genres too. its a nail biting all action on the edge of your seat ride and the attack at the beginning on the white house is spectatular and lasts a good 15 minutes. I was worried it was going to be a bit gunho type of film but it isn't and like people are saying its die hard in the white house. I recommend it to anyone who loves non stop action for around 2 hours.

That was hilarious! Gerry looked like he was having a blast!

sue grint - gbutts greatest London fan - I thought this was hilarious and I cant stop watching it. its like a naughty little schoolboy prank. its so funny. it cheers me up no end on such freezing horrible weather we are still having here in London.

I went to gerrys premiere at the imax wed. evening. it shows how much I love gbutt as it was freezing and this was the 7th time ive met him. he keeps coming over in the cold weather, and hasn't been over here in the summer since the ugly truth, which I reminded him of. mine you, when he turned up the cold just didn't matter anymore as hes such a lovely warm person and has time for all his fans, and spent a lot of time outside talking to us all. well done gbutt.

  3. i will be there as usual. i saw gbutt twice last year in london and feel grateful he comes here as i know theres a lot of fans out there who live too far away. i have just had my big 60 going on 30 and spent it with my daughter in one of gerrys favourite places, iceland. it was fantastic, and to add to it my daughters has ordered me chasing mavericks and playing for keeps as presents for my birthday. ive seen playing for keeps which was a lovely film, but for some reason chasing mavericks never came over to london, i never understand why, so i am really looking forward to seeing this one.

its sue again - i braved the appalling weather last night to go and see gbutt at his premiere and wasn't disappointed. it was mega freezing with the biting wind, but as soon as Gerry turned up you forgot about how cold you really were. me and my friend, Barbara, who i met at the ugly truth premiere back in 09 and have kept in touch with ever since, had a bit of shelter from the weather earlier on as their is a costa coffee shop included in the imax and we managed to stay warm in there until we were told we had to go as they had to prepare for the premiere.

the premiere was quite a small affair, but very nice as there weren't too many people about. aaron turned up first and gbutt, as usual, was late but made up for it by going around everybody and then only going into the cinema for special meetings and then coming out again after about 10 minutes to go around the crowd again before going off in the car somewhere else.

this was the seventh time i had met Gerry and over all the meetings,i have had everything off him that i am allowed, autograph, kiss, hug and me giving him a kiss and my pride and joy, a photograph of him with me. the funny thing was last night i met a girl there, and it was her first time, and it was so funny she was so nervous and excited about seeing Gerry in the flesh, so to speak, and said she wouldn't be able to talk to him sensibly, but it reminded me when i first met him at the 300 premiere back in 07, but she was fine.

i asked him what was it like to star in an action film again,

as the last one was back in 07 with gamer, and he said it was great and a lot of fun.

i don't think he will be coming over here again in the foreseeable future as there are no films in the pipeline at the moment except how to train your dragon 2, so it was nice that he spent so much time with his fans for that reason. i think he is concentrating on solely producing and taking a very well earned rest from roles.

  4. me and my friends are the best gbutt fans ever, and have followed his success since 02 when he starred in cradle of life, and would have loved to have done this interview, but after having a quiet few days for easter, we have to return to our jobs as carer and nurse on that tuesday, and there is no way we can alter it.

we are both coming up to see gerry in london on the next day for his premiere, and we see him every time he comes to london. we are so lucky, as he visits london quite a lot. i met him twice last year, and we know a lot of fans have never met him as he either doesnt get to there countries, or they live too far away from where he is premiering his films.

i have always had one question to ask him, but there is never enough time at his premieres because there is so much screaming, shouting and mayhem going on, but if i could ask him a question it would be.

in his films where he has to cry, how does he do it. he cries so well, especially in attila, machine gun preacher and particularly phantom of the opera, where even his bad eye had tears rolling down his face and also his nose was running. it was amazing. do they stick an onion or smelling salts under his noise or does he just have to close his eyes and think of something very sad, and that sets him off.

  5. sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - there seems to be a big buzz around this film and i cant wait to see it. although i love to see gerry in all genres, its a long time since he has killed some arse, not since gamer.

the countries he is going to visit, including uk, i will be there in london. i am always meeting him there as i live in london and its so easy to go to his premieres. i feel very lucky as i know a lot of fans would love to meet him, to promote the film are unusual russia and south africa to name a couple.

i hope gbutt has a brilliant time as well travelling around, but i know its very tiring all the many interviews he will have to give, but he is so charming and caring that he takes them all in his stride. enjoy.

  7. Whoa! :pantingheart:/>/>

    :erik:/>/> Erik's Ebony Eyes :phantom:/>/>

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - i think this film looks great and it will be nice seeing gerry in an action film again. he hasnt been in one since gamer. i dont like his look at the beginning of the film, i prefer it later on when he hasnt shaved for a while and he is our normal gerry again.

  8. OMG...This is going to be fantastic!

    :gameon:/>/>/>

    Sara

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - the trailer is brilliant, although i prefer gerry a bit later in the film when he has his stubble as hes too clean shaven for me at the beginning, but he has to be for the role hes taken on. later on in the film when the personal care goes out the window he looks HOT. its great to see him back in action, although i love all the diferent genres he takes on, but we havent seen him in action since gamer and that was 07. hoping this one makes it to the UK cinemas, and that gerry has a premiere for it in london again. im hoping he is going to make more movies this year, but havent heard anything yet or maybe he is doing more producing this time.

  9. So wonderful to have two of Gerry's movies so close together.

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - i have just literally come back from watching this film and i found it was a lovely feel good laidback film. gbutt was exceptional on the emotional side and had me welling up occasionally, as he is so good at that side of acting. i would honestly say it was no blockbuster or performance award winning film, but then we knew that, as gbutt likes to do a film with no stress after a couple of demanding roles like coriolanus/machine gun preacher, just something light, which this is. i know it is close to gerrys heart as he grew up not knowing his father and i think his performance in this shows it. i would say it was on the lines of dear frankie.

its sue again - i am just getting fed up with critics, male ones, who expect gbutt just to star in big manly roles and not to do anything else different, and put him down for trying other genres. not every film has to be a huge blockbuster mind blowing event, which makes a heap of money at the box office, some of us like to see him in his versatile roles, musicals, comedies, romcoms, thrillers etc. he does them all. i think the only genre i havent seen gerry in is a western, correct me if i am wrong. in fact, it makes me crazy when you see some actors always doing the same types of films. it so predictable. why cant actors just star in what they want to do for whatever reasons the films appeal to them without being put down by the critics. i dont personally take any notice of them normally and it doesnt make me watch or not watch a film, depending on their comments, as they are just a few people, and we all have our own tastes. i just go to what i think i will enjoy. it would be nice to hear what other gerry fans think. im sure im not the only one with these views.

  11. If you read very carefully, Gerry did not say he would be ringing the bell for NYE in Comrie. He was telling all about it. Some tabloid picked it up and said he would be in Comrie for NYE...all he really did was talk about it. A couple of times he has gone to Miami for NYE or perhaps some place more exotic this New Year's.

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - the scottish really know how to do hogmany, as i went, a few years ago to edinburgh to celebrate and it was a three day party, music, drinking, eating and having fun. they really know how to party north of the border on new years eve.

wherever you spend it this year gerry have a fantastic time, as i know you will, as you love to party too.

  12. yes, gbutt nearly wasnt with us to celebrate 2012, but im glad he is, as i wouldnt have met him twice this year, which is a record as i usually only meet him yearly if that. i wish gerard a merry christmas, and particularly a happy new year for 2013.

i am looking forward to seeing his new films playing for keeps, chasing mavericks, movie 43 and olympus has fallen, and hope he is going to keep on making great films this year, and also to see him again in london.

  13. Gerard Butler says his New Year resolution for 2013 is to take a spiritual and more introspective approach to life. It was a near-death experience that prompted the 43-year-old to re-evaluate his existence.

Butler said: "Next year my resolution is to embark on a lot of internal, more spiritual things, and explore that side of my life."

After he almost died in a surfing accident in 2011 while filming Chasing Mavericks, the Scottish-born actor says he now has a different perspective.

Gerard, who played the role of champion surfer Rick 'Frosty' Henson, was hit by a freak wave at Maverick's, a surfing spot south of San Fransisco, and trapped underwater as a succession of large waves rolled over him.

He was eventually pulled onto a jet ski and taken to a nearby hospital.

Butler said: "That accident made me reassess a lot of stuff. On the positive side, it made me realise you live from moment to moment.

"I've had a few close calls but that was probably the closest. So now I regard life as having different chapters, and it's about enjoying each one and that's my focus for 2013."

Butler will next be seen in romantic comedy Playing For Keeps, released on January 1, 2013 and also starring Jessica Biel.

    Hello!

I'm so happy for you "Sue Grint"!!!!!! High five!!!!!! Lucky you!!!!! I wish I was there too!!!! I live too far away!!!! It would take me three hundred days to get there!!!!!

    Josée

sue grint - i am very lucky cos gbutt comes to london quite often and cos i live here i go to all his premieres. i first met him in 07 at the 300 premiere on my birthday and got him to sign my card and he gave me a birthday kiss. the next time was 08 for rocknrolla, where i got a hug and kissed him this time. the next was 09 for the ugly truth but i didnt get my photo then, and then in 2010 at the bounty hunter premiere he took my camera to take a photo and when i got home it hadnt taken. i was gutted, so you can see why i desperately wanted a photo of him and me. he came over in 2011 for machine gun preacher, but not even gals knew about this small event, so i missed that and this year, ive been lucky enough to see him twice as he was over in jan. for coriolanus, but i didnt manage to taught to him, but this time i was lucky, mainly as it was a very small casual event and i managed to talk to him as well.

    Hello Sue Grint!!!

I went on "Gerard Butler Gals twitter page" and I noticed that next December 14, it will be the London premiere of "Playing for Keeps"!!!!!! Just wanted to let you know!!!!! I hope you get the chance to meet him again!!!!!

    Josée

thanks very much. thats great. i will be there.

why isnt it down on his future events, so we can see it clearly. i dont know how to twitter. all the other things hes done and doing are always listed on gals for us to see. all the US premieres and interviews on various programmes are always clearly shown and quite a long time in advance so we are ready for them. if i hadnt heard a rumour and you hadnt told me, would it have been added to his future commitments on the events section. i would have been so cross if i had missed it. is the premiere in leicester square. while i am on, do you know when chasing mavericks is going to be shown in the UK as it was shown in US in october.

me again sue - just to say i evenually found out gerry was in piccadilly at a screening of playing for keeps on thursday 13 dec. so i went up there and waited outside. it was a very small event with about 15 fans there. a car pulled up in the traffic of london and gerry stepped out. it was very casual, nothing like the huge premieres with all the noise and bedlum. it was lovely, the fans just quietly approached him, no security, we all behaved very well, and just talked to him, got photos, autographs, hugs etc. and then he stayed for a while and then went into the cinema to meet and greet people in there and watch the film. i eventually got my photo of him and me that has taken me 6 meetings of gerry to get, and i am over the moon. it was well worth the wait in the freezing cold. i sent it to gals and should be in the gallery shortly. lovely christmas present and the film comes out over here on new years day. what a way to see in 2013.

  17. sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - i was wondering if gals could help me if they know anything. ive just heard rumours that gerry is/might be coming over to london next week for a premiere of either chasing mavericks or playing for keeps or both. could you give me any headsup on this information or not. i know he is over this side of the pond on tuesday in oslo, presenting the noble peace prize, so it is a possibility. i am an avid fan of gbutts and his films and have met him 5 times and would love to make it 6.

  18. Gerard Butler talks Playing For Keeps and midlife crises

    By Anne Brodie Metro Canada

Gerard Butler produced and stars in Playing for Keeps, a romantic comedy about an ex-international soccer star who returns to small-town America, where his son and estranged wife live.

As George discovers and Butler knows, being famous can create problems.

"You get that as an actor in my position," says Butler.

"You can cause a bit of chaos even with the best intentions wherever you go. (My character) George is chaotic on the inside and he causes chaos wherever he goes, but he's trying his best to take the right path. That right path is often blocked by those who would like to get their claws into him because he's an appealing character and yet

in himself he doesn't feel that at all. That's what's interesting about him," he says.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Uma Thurman don't work often. How did you lure them back?

I was kind of surprised myself. They were fun roles for them to get into, they are juicy comedic crazy roles and yet they speak to you in a way that's relatable. People get those characters, where they're coming from…. That's what I loved about this movie.

What wisdom do you have for men in a midlife crisis?

For a man, it's about growing up.

You want to keep the child in you, but at the same time you've got those quick fixes and learn about commitment and sacrificing something and ultimately going beyond distraction and love (to) family (and) career. … But that's tough because in this life we live there are so many temptations and distractions and you can't deny it, they're fun and exciting. I'm thinking, 'Yes, that's it.'

I'm finally growing up and then for a long period of time I'm thinking I have no purpose, no real maturity, and I'm not handling my responsibilities very well.

As one of the Sexiest Man Alive (2004) any words for Channing Tatum?

That was a long time ago! Just be yourself and you're judged on that. If you have to try, it's pretty sad. I'm sure Tatum didn't have to try.

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - im very like gerry because i am coming up to 60 in march, and people always say i dont look or act my age, but i think it depends on yourself, i dont luckily dress too young, but more fashionable than most 60 year olds, but i am happy go lucky and love a dirty joke as often as possible. i adore gerry and follow his career adamantly, and always, when he is over in london at premieres go to meet him. ive managed 5 times now, and ive been told that, that is more like a younger person would do, but i dont care, its not hurting anyone and i love it. i cant imagine not doing it so gerry be careful, as we nearly lost you this time last year.

can you only be best looking person once, as i personally, think gerry is better looking the more mature he gets, and should win it every year, or if not, every other, but im biased.

while i am on, i was just wondering if gals knew when chasing mavericks is going to be shown in the uk, as i cant seem to be able to find it out. i know playing the field is coming out on jan. 1. if you could help me out that would be brilliant. thanks.

  19. Here's a look at the poster with the April 5, 2013 release date http://www.gbgalsgal...llen_2.jpg.html

    Posted Image

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - really love this poster, and am really looking forward to this film. it looks like its going to be another 2009

when in the uk we saw three of gerrys films within months of each other. it was gamer, the ugly truth and lac, and now its going to be chasing mavericks, playing the field and olympus has fallen. im not complaining, although there are big gaps sometimes in waiting for a gerry film to watch and it would be nicer if we could see him more regularly, but i dont mind them coming along in a clump if they have to.

  20. Hotness alert! Gerard Butler was in Dubai last night (7 November) for the launch of the Roger Dubuis boutique, the Swiss watch brand that he is the face of. Despite carrying injuries from his latest movie (he hurt his finger on the set of Olympus Has Fallen) he showed us just what trooper he was and totally charmed us. With the help of Virgin Radio's Simone Heng, we cornered him for quick chat.

Welcome to Dubai, gorgeous Gerard Butler!

Shut up, you're making fun of me!

    Posted Image

So Gerard, what future projects do you have in the pipeline?

I have the surf film Chasing Mavericks coming out in the US this weekend, then I have the comedy drama Playing for Keeps with Jessica Biel and Catherine Zeta-Jones. I was lucky you know because in the movie there was a lot of flirtation and I got the chance to hang out with the girls.

I also have a big action movie coming out called Olympus Has Fallen about an attack on the White House. Very apt for today given the elections. The film is by the director of Training Day and Morgan Freeman is in it along with Aaron Eckhart, it's been a nice time for me.

We love that you are the face of Roger Dubuis, which watch of theirs are you wearing this evening?

Here's my timepiece, it's sizzling. It's called the Exclailbur and here's my bust up finger. I hurt it during a fight scene in my last movie.

We know it's your birthday next week, how will you be spending it?

I am heading home. I just want to spend it with the family.

We obviously love all your films but our fave is PS I Love You. Very girly we know, but we loved your Irish accent in the movie and wondered if you could you give us a quick replay of it, please.

I couldn't do it then and I still can't do it now. [Laughs]

Throughout the evening the hunky Scotsman couldn't help but endear himself to us more. He sipped only water and was very attentive to all the guests, chatting, taking photos and making jokes. He also laughed when clips of his past films showed across the screen, what a guy!

Gerard headed straight from the launch to let his hair down. He was last seen partying with Maradona at Mo*vida. Gerard, we hope you are okay and please hurry back!

    Source

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - im glad he is enjoying himself in dubai, and that he will be spending his birthday with his family and friends in scotland. i wish him now a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. i nearly bumped into him at lax at the beginning of the week as i left on sunday evening on my way back from the hawaiian islands, where, i did infact, invite him, but he was otherwise engaged, and he left monday. i will just have to wait for him in london, as usual, when he premieres there again.

  21. I couldn't envision Gerry starting this movie at this time with OHF filming and Thunder Run and Manhunt coming up....along with promotions for PTF and CM.

But I also am waiting to hear confirmation of this rumour since there are so many 'news' sources out in the ether and so little corroboration of facts.

    :detect:

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan - maybe its a bit of a blessing as it must be very tough doing two films back to back. also, this one sounds a bit like law abiding citizen, when he was after revenge for the killing of his wife and daughter, doesnt it.

i liked the sound of briliant, which was the black comedy, diamond heist. i havent heard anything else about that one lately. could he perhaps do that one for now and motor city later next year.

  22. Woopsie, I removed your commentary when I edited the post for the news feed! SORRY, KALLI! Please feel free to repost...

sue grint - gbutts greatest london fan- im glad hes not involved in the sequel. why mess with prefection. gerry made that film his own, and also he has well and truly moved on from then and starring in great films, although 300 did give him a massive leg up into the hollywood world, and us fans are grateful for that, but gerry has proved himself over and over again since then.
