  1. "If I'm the phantom, it's because man's hatred made me so"- or something like that the 1925 Lon Chaney movie
  2. When you describe Hollywood, I think that maybe that's why I like silent movies and early talkies.Perhaps it wasn't like that in the 1920-ties and 1930-ties...Or at least it wasn't that bad. Anyway, I wish Gerry all the best.
  3. Dear Gerry, Here's a wish for happiness and many dreams come true Not only on your Special Day but always - all life through! Wishing you a year filled with the same joy you bring to others , Madeleine .
  4. I hope so I just finished my internship and soon I will be a fully registered doctor. Thank you all and take care !
  5. Swannie, Your Husband and you remain in my thoughts and prayers.
  6. Thank you Suzie Oh, to see that thumb-up from Gerry I'll be thinking of him, and of you GALS.
  7. Having completed my year as a trainee, and having passed my exam I am now ready to work . First we are going to receive our licenses. The funny thing ( and the reason I'm telling you ) is , the official ceremony will be held on November 13
  8. Swannie, you and Bill are both in my prayers.
  9. I'm torn between 300 and PotO...But the '04 version of PotO made me a Phan, so it's PotO with 300 close behind.
  10. On the other hand, I can think of several people who are attractive from the point of view of the opposite sex ( and it's not only their looks, but they also have plenty of class and elegance ) ...and they don't necessarily see it - I mean , they don't behave like " they must be at my feet ". They are,for lack of a better word, normal.
  11. Go Gerry ! ( this comes from a fan of 300 ) There's one thing. in 300, Gerry played King Leonidas. There was another Leonidas ( known as Lon ) - Lon Chaney. He played the Phantom in PotO ( '25 ), Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre-Dame ( '23 ) and a man whose legs were amputated in The Penalty . The apparatus worn by Chaney to simulate amputated legs was complex and incredibly painful. He knew about dramatic movie-role changes, that's for sure. When it comes to Phantom actors, we could say :from Leonidas ( Lon Chaney ) to Leonidas ( Gerry ). What can we say, destiny
  12. I know no one likes " me too " posts, but what can I say. I agree with you Gals ! BTW. Go Gerry !
  13. I've heard a lot of good things , I'll try to get hold of it
  14. I admit that I love the original Leroux novel, because I love PotO as a thriller / crime story / horror . And it seems to me that Leroux and I have the same sense of humor. I have read The Phantom of Manhattan when LND opened . What can I say... poor Raoul, and poor Christine. I still have to read Key's Phantom ( even though I dont't really like romantic versions, But I've heard this one's good ). I would also like to read Chanson de l'Ange by swansong
  15. I love 300 ! I was feeling brave and strong when I was watching it one of my Gerry faves ! Also, I like the line Now, the more you sweat here , the less you'll bleed in battle. I think about it now that I'm in the beginning of my professional career an still have a lot to learn.
  16. Same here !I love versions other than the ALW version as well , for instance I admire Lon Chaney's performance, and , of course , always go back to the original Leroux novel. However, Gerry will always be my first Phantom. He made me a Phan
  17. I hope to read your book soon Congrats!
  18. I'll be happy for Gerry. IMHO Gerry's not going to quit acting. He may slow down to spend more time with his family ( I wanted to say FANmily - ) but I don't expect his marriage to end his career .
  19. 29 going on 30...My last year in the 'twenties zone' .
  20. jerona - I'm also petite, so I know how you feel. I sometimes wish I was bigger and ...stronger
