  2. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...0967EF155712313 Hey! I'm happy to report I'm finding little bits of time on set in between takes to write you. Today we woke up in Torreon, a pretty big city in Mexico, at about 4:30am. We drove an hour to set, just outside Dunas de Bilbao. Our location is, what I can only describe as, a sand dune desert. I've been riding the motorcycle in 4-foot sand drifts since sunrise to get the shot just right. The wonderful, kind and talented Chow Yun Fat is hanging on for dear life in back. We've been doing about 40mph, and over bumpy sand dunes that is enough to make anyone a little queasey. Chow is so kind, so calm and a bit of a prankster (which I love!) and he hasn't complained once. The sand is pretty deep here, and we've had to dig the bike out a few times when it has stalled in the drifts, but the crew and stunt guys and girls are so helpful. I was surprised to see a lot of rabbits out here. Yes, rabbits in the desert. Tall ones, 3-feet when they stand up on their hind legs. They tend to keep a distance, as I don't think they have many Hollywood crews visiting them often. ? But it got me wondering what they might eat out here in this dry sandy desert, which prompted a Google search for "rabbits in Mexico desert". (By the way, I should mention I am a big Googler (is that a word?). It's so informative and -- usually -- trustworthy.) I found out that out here in the desert, the rabbits eat twigs, seeds and branches off the desert trees. However, I did feel a little sorry for them, as the desert trees don't look very appetizing at all. I got a plate from catering of lettuce, greens, and chayote and left it out for them. I suppose I should mention I had a pet rabbit for a week when I was 6. I was the lucky one (when my name was chosen out of the hat) in school to take the class pet rabbit home for a week. Mom was not too thrilled to have "Peter Rabbit" running around our apartment. Even I will admit Peter was pretty messy, but I really loved little Peter Rabbit, and I named him after the great children's book written by Beatrix Potter. Did you read that book growing up? It was one of my favorites. Back to set, I'm really enjoying getting to know Joon Park. I'm not allowed to spill any secrets, but our characters interact a lot in the film. If you don't know a lot about Joon, in addition to being an actor, he has a massively successful band in Korea (he writes a lot of the music) and is also a great dancer. Not only is Joon very cute and extremely charming, he's gracious and very down to Earth. We've been trading music, giving each other some of our favorite stuff – he happens to love classic rock. Because everyone's taste in music is so personal, I've found music a very good way to get to know someone. (It's something I started doing with Gerard Butler when we were shooting "Phantom of the Opera" in London. He loves Ennio Morricone. In fact, during the filming Gerry and I went to see the great composer in concert at Royal Albert Hall. It's really something special if you ever get the chance to see him live.) Anyway, we are almost ready to shoot again so I should go. Have a great day! Much love from the sand dunes, Emmy
  3. Thanks Tracy - Yes they're a great site for info. If you scroll down on that page to the bottom, you can see that we're affiliated with them already and here on our site. They're a fantastic sister site!
  4. thank you for your explanation Mel! I didn't read the book, so i had no idea. I guess the reason I felt that way about Daniel was b/c it seemed so one-sided, and i didn't get the feeling she was all that emotionally connected with him or anything. to me, he was just someone that was there in her life. i am glad too that they didn't end up together as in a formulaic way (i pretty muched guessed she would go back to ireland and eventually see william), but again, i was just perplexed by the whole thing b/c i never saw any chemistry between them (her & daniel). ouch, my head hurts from analyzing LOL i guess i should see it again too to help clear out my cobwebs
  5. i don't think this counts but there was one pic of Gerry during the title credits where it looks like he's screaming and i said to willy "this is spartaaaaaa!" when i saw it b/c that's what it made me think of
  6. Thanks for creating this Mel! Overall, i really enjoyed the movie. i cried twice, which i NEVER do in movies, ever! My guy came with me, and he said he really liked it too (which was surprising b/c i was worried about it being to chick-flicky for him). i really don't understand all of the negative reviews - i thought G & H had fantastic chemistry. My only main issue with the movie was harry connick jr.'s character. he's a fantastic actor but i just thought it was a wasted character and didn't really do anything to enhance the plot, just to lengthen the movie more than necessary. Willy and i both thought that when he and Hilary didn't hook up. that was our only main issue, other than that i was so pleasantly surprised by my emotional reaction to it. i friggin' lost it when she called his voicemail over and over to hear his voice and when she sang her emotional karaoke.

  9. fyi: i'm getting HQs into the gallery very soon. below is the caption that accompanied them: Gerard Butler of '300' fame seen at the Waverly Inn. Gerard came in a cab by his lonesome and picked up a mystery blond on his way out. He had to ask the girl where they were going while quickly hailing a cab as the paparazzi closed in.

  16. I was just talking about this with my fiancee this morning. i noticed last night that one of our local theatres is showing PSILY at midnight on Thursday/Friday morning and i wanted to go to it b/c i'm a night person and b/c i'm starting my vacation on Friday. They're also showing charlie wilson's war, walk hard: the dewey cox story, sweeney todd, and the national treasure sequel at midnight there. we went to the 300 midnight showing back in march and it was PACKED and they opened other theatre rooms to accommodate everyone - but this is mostly b/c i live and work in a college town. But since this is finals week (everyone's either studying or going home) and like you said, this is a rom/com i seriously doubt it'll be like that for this one. i'm interested to see how busy it will be.
  17. http://movies.about.com/od/psiloveyou/a/psilovegb121207.htm From Rebecca Murray At the Los Angeles press junket for the romantic comedy P.S. I Love You Gerard Butler was asked by a male reporter if, after winning over the hearts of women worldwide in 300 and now starring – and stripping – in P.S. I Love You, he’d just give real guys a break. Butler’s response came accompanied by a hearty chuckle. “I should give myself a break as well because I’m only playing characters. I’m not, unfortunately, like either of them in real life. Not quite as powerful as Leonidas and not quite as charming and sweet as ‘Gerry’. I’m only letting myself down as well.” Read more...

  19. So typically Gerry http://www.tmz.com/2007/12/11/fan-to-gerar...you-sexy-bitch/ Fan to Gerard Butler: P.S. You Sexy Bitch! Spartan god Gerard Butler battled what seemed like 300 adoring fans as he made his way to the after-party of his new romcom "P.S. I Love You" in Hollywood on Sunday. Take off your shirt! As the 38-year-old man candy signed autographs and crossed the street, a fan in heat is heard screaming, "Gerry, you're a sexy bitch." Without skipping a beat, Butler responds, "I know." How could he not?!
  20. http://www.slashfilm.com/2007/12/11/first-...reening-review/ Warner Bros has released the first two production photos from Guy Ritchie’s RockNRolla, a crime thriller starring Gerard Butler. Click on the images to enlarge. Everyone is hoping that this film might be a return to form for Ritchie, who has had a string of critical bombs and box office failures. We have a reader submitted test screening review below. The film follows a Russian mobster who orchestrates a crooked land deal, putting millions of dollars up for grabs and attracting all of the criminal underworld. Everyone from a dangerous crime lord to a sexy accountant, a corrupt politician and down-on-their-luck petty thieves conspire, collude and collide with one another in an effort to get rich quick. The film also stars Thandie Newton, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jeremy Piven, Idris Elba, and Tom Wilkinson. The following test screening review is from Eternal, who saw the film last month: I just LOVED this movie!!!! I wish I could tell you all EVERYTHING about RocknRolla, but unfortunately, if I do, I will give too much of the movie away and ruin the fun for everyone! This IS a real gangster movie, even though its funny. Its hard to explain. If you’ve seen one of Guy Ritchie’s other films, like Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, you’ll know that Ritchie can do both funny and serious at the same time. Let me just say this is the comedic performance we have been waiting for from Gerard. This movie is a hilarious crime/heist film and Gerard is just hilarious as the ne’er-do-well small time criminal, OneTwo. (They never explained where that name came from, but anywhoo….) Basically, OneTwo hangs out with his buddies and fellow crooks (called with seeming heavy sarcasm, “The Wild Bunch”)waiting for the next job and not doing much else. Gerard gets to be charming, funny, somewhat goofy and at the same time totally cool. And I like that this is the only movie in a long time where Gerard actually looks like himself, I mean the way he does wandering around in real life. No dyed hair, put on abs, strange beards or makeup: just pure and natural (and all the hotter because of it) Gerard! We’ve been in such a Gerard drought, I’d almost forgotten why I love this many so much and find his so appealing and attractive as an actor, but this movie brought it all back for me! I can’t talk about too many scenes without giving too much away, but I will say my favorite Gerard scene was where he in the car with “Handsome Bob” and loses his temper. Another was a hilarious dance scene with Gerard and Thandie Newton (where Gerard does a pretty good “white guy trying to be cool” dance.) He and Thandie also have one of the funniest (and shortest) “sex” scenes in film history. There is also one of the funniest and most over the top (in a good way) fight/chase scenes I think I’ve ever seen in a film with some great (future classic) Gerard moments. The most of a spoiler that I will give is that OneTwo’s band of ne’er-do-wells success as criminals is more do to dumb luck than any actual skill or aptitude. I also have to mention this movie is full of really brilliant performances, especially by Tom Wilkinson (as usual), Mark Strong, Tom Hardy and Toby Kebbell. Toby Kebbell is a new “face” for me, but after this film, he is someone whose future work I’m looking forward to seeing. Oh yeah, and the title is explained, but I can’t tell you that either, because that would be a spoiler too. RockNRolla will hit theaters in the Third Quarter of 2008.
