  1. I agree Fluffy. I for one was glad that for once the paps weren't sticking a camera in his face!
  2. Bit like the reviewer for POTO who said "Mr Butler inhabits his role with such sulphurous intensity that his Phantom commands the screen." Volcanic and sulphurous! That's our Hot Scot! x
  3. Happy Birthday Gerry, May this year be your best year ever. Thank you for being such an inspiration to so many people and for giving them such happiness with your work. x Trace
  4. Thank you Barb. There is quite a bit around on the internet about Gerry's character, Colonel Eric Schwartz, if you google him.
  5. That's fantastic! Well done everyone for a great cause and something that will mean so much to Gerry! xx
  6. Have just got round to ordering this and can't wait to see it. Have seen clips and the short extras on B&G, but an hour long interview with G is worth the price alone. You don't get those length Gerry interviews anymore, Howard Stern aside! B&G was such a beautiful film I felt obliged to see all the work that went into it. You're gonna die when you see it! It's one of the best treasures for a hardcore fan! Theresa Can't wait Theresa! Have ordered it on Amazon.com so will take a while to come to the U.K. I should get a discount as my surname (Risby) is of Viking descent! (OK, I know it was filmed in Iceland, but you see the connection!) ÉG ást Gerry!

  8. I would have thought it more likely that is was pulled by Howard TV as it is a subscription service so they probably aren't keen on people watching their stuff for free. Gerry did get into some crazy positions on that couch! I also kept half expecting his earphones to cut out because he was fiddling with the cable so much!
  9. OK, now I have actually SEEN it and it lived up to everything I expected. As I think others have mentioned, Gerry is so good in this film you totally forget it is him you are watching. He IS Sam for those two hours you are in the cinema, which given how much time us GALS spend watching and talking about G is quite an achievement. There were about 10 people or so in the cinema, but given the awful weather tonight, and the fact that the entire multiplex was deserted probably wasn't anything personal against MGP! I now feel the urge to stick a toothpick in ma mouth, git ma guns an go an preach ta the world that they should see this film!!! So proud of G in this performance. x
  10. Let's hope so Patsy, although next week's listing doesn't mention it. Just got back from seeing it and feel a bit shell shocked at the mo! What an amazing film and performance by G. Just blew me away. Tragic if more people don't get to hear about this film and see it.
  11. I watched this programme in the UK, and while it was nice to see the Gerry questionnaire, it would have been even nicer if the had actually REVIEWED MGP!!!
  12. I still haven't given up on this movie and hope with its UK release this week it will get some more deserved publicity. It makes me sad that after everything that G put into it, it has had (so far) such a limited release in the U.S. On a positive note though, with all the interviews that G and the other cast and crew have done, a lot of people may have become aware of the situation in South Sudan etc who may not have known about it before..even if they don't go and see the film.
  13. It's those old faithful trainers/sneakers again! Maybe G is like Albert Einstein and he just has loads of pairs of the same shoes so he doesn't have to think what to wear..except with Einstein it was suits rather than shoes!
  14. Lovely photos thank you. Gerry is looking great and I'm loving the new style beard. It may be the lighting, but his hair and beard look quite red in those photos..more like "Rusty Hesson" than "Frosty"!
  15. What a great interview! Thank you It dug up a lot of the old stuff but Gerry seemed on form and came up with some new answers to the questions, not an easy thing with the thousands of interviews he does!
  16. Well, I guess this is about the last genre Gerry hasn't covered if it involves motion capture! I know he did CGI with HTTYD but that was voice only. Seems like a bit of a weird one this. The way I see CGI motion capture stuff it should be used for stuff that can't be shot any other way, i.e Avatar, Planet of the Apes, sci-fi type stuff etc. Not sure why this film needs to be done this way and I feel a bit uncomfortable with the war in Iraq being turned into a 'call of duty' type movie.
  17. Wasn't sure where to put this as I havent actually seen MGP, but have just booked to see it in the UK so am very excited! Going to see it next thursday (3rd) so will let you know what I think of it next week, although based on the reviews, the book (have read it!) and knowing the passion Gerry has put into it it will be amazing. It is also my first Gerry outing at the cinema (I only 'saw the G light' early this year, so all my previous stuff has been on DVD or TV!) and am dragging hubby along to help the box office! Feel sad for my U.S GALS who havent had a chance to see it but still hoping that with good UK publicity will lead to a wider U.S release. x
  18. Lovely photos. Thank you! Looks like he has either caught the sun a bit or was a bit cold! Going by all those jackets and the time of year, probably the latter! Lovely rosy cheeks bless him. Am liking the new style beard too. Looks a bit like The Dude in The Big Lebowski!
  19. To my U.S GALS Sisters... don't lose faith yet. MGP is coming out in the U.K soon and the U.K GALS have picked up the baton and will carry the torch forward for you. This movie deserves to be seen by as many people as possible. So many people involved, especially Gerry have put their heart and soul into it. Us GALS have done all we can to get it screened to as many people as possible. I have no idea what has gone wrong in the U.S publicity-wise but I was so full of hope after TIFF and all the positive reviews it received. I have never felt so passionate about a film I haven't even seen yet, but based on the book (which I have read) the trailer, interviews, comments by GALS and the way Gerry feels about it and what he went through to get it made I don't want to give up on it. It looks like in the UK the publicity is being handled better, with TV spots etc. I will do my utmost to get everyone I know to go and see MGP. Maybe if it does well in the UK the good box office returns may help encourage nominations for BAFTAS/OSCARS etc leading to a wider US release. We can only live in hope. We owe it to Sam and the children.
  20. Good ideas GALS! How about 'Extra Time' I don't know if that translates to the U.S but in the U.K 'extra time' is an extended period of play at the end of normal time in a football (soccer!) match. It kinda fits in with the theme of the film and Gerry's character coming back to the U.S. after his footballing career is over. It's a shame they have had to change PTF and Mavericks titles because I think they were both good titles and if anything, MGP might have worked better with a different title!
  21. Is there a clip of this anywhere? I've had a quick look around but can't see it anywhere! Perhaps some of you lovely GALS can point us in the right direction! (Have seen SNL which was fantastic!) x You may download it here: Gerry on Jimmy Fallon - October 2009 http://www.gerardbut...ds&showfile=788 Thank you Barb you are a star! Knew I could rely on my GALS! x

  23. According to the Wikipedia page "Facial hair in the military" (not something I get round to reading every day!)..."Beards are tactically permitted onboard many US submarines while on deployment". Personally I would love a short crop with a beard on Gerry for this one. One thing is for sure all those lovely locks will have to go to some extent unless he wears a hat for the whole film!
  24. He is looking fantastic. Has definitely got a bit bigger since TIFF etc. Looks like he has maybe done a bit more weights or something.
  25. The paddle-out scene being filmed tomorrow (Friday) should be amazing although it could be one of those emotional scenes for Gerry as it is based on the event that took place shortly after Moriarity's 2001 death, so it would have been a sad day for Frosty.
