Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome (GALS) continued

Recommended Posts

WELCOME to the 19th floor of the 2nd highrise of our clinic! We only have 50 floors to go to reach 69 again!

Though sadly "300" is leaving many theaters now as the summer movies take over, it has accomplished more than it was ever expected to, and still has the Japanese release more than a month away. Gerry has been named Action Star of the Year by the stuntmen, and he and the film are up for 5 MTV Movie Awards. So, here is our chance to both support these awards and discuss others we'd like to see in his future. We've known all along how "award-worthy" he is and maybe now the rest of the world is taking notice.

AND NOW.... the original thread.

Being the compassionate person that I am, I can recognize a cry for help when I see one. Having said that, I have decided to start a new support group for those of us with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome – from now on, all with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome with be known as GALS.

This group is open to all GALS and non-GALS alike who believe they are in serious need of support and guidance as they realize how serious their addiction has become. This is not a support group which advocates traditional intervention, as the failure rate would be astronomical, but merely a group whom you can turn to who share in your addictions or withdrawals, whichever the case may be. Some of the signs that you have GALS include, but are not limited to:

1. You buy every magazine on the rack looking for photos or articles of Gerry and start to get the jitters when there has been no sign of him for weeks.

2. You drive 500 miles to see a Gerry movie.

3. Your significant other (or just someone you're dating) gives you stark reminders they are SOOOO NOT Gerry.

4. Co-workers, friends and/or family start teasing you for your addiction – people can be so cruel...

5. You become addicted to caffeine because you can’t pull yourself away from GALS...."'cause just MAYBE he'll be on Chat tonight."

6. You obsess with much glee, "Gerry has a computer...and he knows how to use it!!!!"

7. You find yourself asking aloud, "Did he REALLY mean what he said about the 3:00 a.m. thing and does he REALLY wear a size 11 shoe?" Then smile broadly.

8. You catch yourself speaking in a Scottish accent for no apparent reason.

9. You change the decor in your bathroom to accommodate your new yellow towels.

10. The "G-Spot" takes on a whole new meaning.

11. You spend days wondering why a Scot would be named "Andre."

12. You buy “Mrs. Brown” just for the skinny-dipping scene and play that one scene in slow mo and super slow mo, over and over and over again. (Okay, so maybe that was just me.) :D

13. You have a picture of Gerry in your wallet, and refer to him as “your man, Gerry.”

14. You spend your hard-earned cash assigned for other “non-essential” items (phone bill, power bill, etc.) on essential Gerry related items.

15. You go shopping for your “real-life” man and finding yourself thinking, “OMG!!! Gerry would look so :censored: hot in that!!!

16. You have to buy a new hard drive to accommodate all your pics and videos of Gerry.

17. You search through a couple hundred $5.50 DVDs at Wal-Mart because an employee said Dracula 2K might be there.

18. You can't possibly walk past Starbucks without dreaming that maybe... *sighs*

19. You refer to the Gerry wallpaper on your computer as your “happy place.”

20. While looking up at the clouds you SWEAR there's a cloud in the shape of a "G"...funny thing is, the GAL next to you sees the same thing!!!

21. Multiples (Gerrygasms) are an every day occurrence!!!

This list will continue to grow as you tell me your addictions...

Below is a very simple 10-step program to help foster our addiction.

1. You must admit you have GALS. This is so important to further your addiction. Yes, this support group wants to nourish your addiction, not starve it. We are here for you.

2. Come to believe the Great and Powerful Gerry is greater than ourselves and only our visions and/or fantasies can keep us addicted. To truly become addicted, however, one must at one time in ones life made the Gerry Mecca Journey (GMJ) and meet him in person.

3. Make a decision to turn our will and lives over to our addiction to Gerry.

4. Make a searching and fearless immoral inventory of our fantasies of Gerry.

5. Lend your support to those who have GALS, but are yet unable to admit it.

6. Watch every movie (more than once) in which Gerry has a role. To be truly addicted, you must develop a love of all Gerry genres (yes, this includes “Tale of the Mummy” and “Dracula 2000”).

7. Frequently quote lines from Gerry films. Memorize them, use them, replace old phrases with new Gerry lines. This will prove to all your serious commitment to your addiction.

8. Know Gerry’s biography better than you know your own. True GALS will know all Gerry’s trivia. Study it, soak it in, become one with Gerry's biography.

9. Give generously (money folks) to the website which has fostered your addictions and allowed your fantasies to take flight.

10. Convert all who are convertible to this syndrome. This is the true mark of GALS. Do not judge - for your next recruit may be your boss!

As this is a relatively new Syndrome, the above guidelines are subject to editing, amending or scrapping all together as we GALS deem necessary.

The first step to true addiction is to admit you have GALS!! I will begin the group.

"My name is Dr. Em and I have GALS."

All are welcome to join in our group. GALS, we must not suffer in silence!!! We now have a voice!!! Let it be heard!

*Disclaimer: We GALS appreciate not only Gerry’s royal hotness for which there is no rival, we indeed, also recognize his abundance of talent, soul, passion, spirit, sense of style and humor, sincerity...can I stop now? Our addictions are all-encompassing and we embrace Gerry EVERY WHICH WAY WE CAN!!!*

To Cleobethra for our “Warning Label.”

Darn you beat me!

As for the awards, I think that the Action Star award, which is actually before the MTV awards is a start of a lot of awards. Although it seems that most actors do what they do because they want to and/or because they love what they do, it's always nice to be recognized by your peers.

Good morning GALS! Another new floor... :woo:

Well, as far as awards, I'm thinking some day Gerry is going to win the academy award for some really fantastic role that he hasn't done yet! Yep, that's what I think!

Rose, I agree with everything you said on the previous floor about 300. Everyone involved in 300 should be very proud of what they accomplished. I'm with you Suzie....no way am I going to see SpiderMan on the opening weekend....wait....I never go to see a SpiderMan movie at the theaters...so what am I talking about!

Hey Linda, grab a chair, put up your feet and have a glass of gerry juice! Welcome dear.

Jilly, I think Bryan already learned to be real careful what he says around a very pregnant woman... :rotflmao: . He asked me a few weeks back if I was that "bi......" when I was pregnant with him. I told him YES!

Erica, awww honey, sorry you are still not feeling well.....take advantage of the situation while you're laying there on the couch and watch all of Gerry's movies....that should help some :kisswink:

Frannie, love the video you made for Betts....who now has her own song and all these gorgeous pictures of Gerry looking at her....ok :tantrum: now I'm jealous! :cunning:

hugs to all of you...love ya!

Am I showing my ignorance, or are we limited as to how often we can vote for the MTV awards? I've been voting over and over every day, and it seems to take my votes. Am I wasting my time????

Morning everyone!

I'm trying to get a couple loads of laundry done so I have something to wear to work this afternoon. I'd have done it yesterday (my day off after graveyard shift) but I conked out almost right after I walked in the door. Slept straight through til 2 a.m.!!!! Guess I was tired .

I'm meeting Mom for lunch later on, then heading in to work for a short 4hr shift while she goes for the MRI of her shoulder. After that she's headed home and I'm headed to my friend Melisa's house for rented movies, girl talk, and dinner. I'm looking forward to it.

As for Gerry + awards, I have to agree that he'll actually take home the oscar statue for a role we've yet to see. I think his performance as Leonidas will get a nod, but probably not the win at the academy awards. I personally think it deserves to win, but unfortunately the Academy ....is well...the Academy. That's about all that can be said about them. :boink: I definitely think he'll take home a statue, and the movie itself several of them, for the other award shows yet to come.

I just got an email from Jon re: the Wrath of Gods dvd. It's got a whole 1hr interview with GERRY !! :gerrygasm: besides the 72 minute documentary and other things. I absolutely cannot wait for that lovely bit filmage to arrive in my mailbox!!!!!!! :yippee: :Yee-Haw: :bouncydrool3:

Hope everyone is having a lovely day. I'm off to finish folding towels --and wouldn't you know, my kitty just decided to take a nap on the ones I've already folded! :rotflmao:

Well, I like the Spiderman movies, but in protest of Spidey3 not only hogging the IMAX but nearly every other theater in the U.S. (it has the highest theater count of any movie ever) I will NOT go see it until at the very earliest next weekend, and more likely not until Memorial Day. I'll be away the weekend after next, and then we have the Highland Games on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, so that puts 5/28 as the earliest possible date to see it and by then Shrek 3 will be out too (which I want to see even more than Spidey). This weekend I will continue to lend my support to 300 in its very limited access. Hopefully a few of us will be seeing it tomorrow and then I will probably go see it again on Sunday. I won't be able to see it during the week anymore since it is at times I wouldn't be able to make. Ticks me off that such a fabulous movie is almost gone and it is too too quick for that!

Rock on babe!

But the more organized it is the better!

Woo-hoo! Welcome to the nineteenth floor! Hope everyone is ready to enjoy the weekend; I will definitely not be going to the theaters for Spidey 3, as it'll be too much of a zoo. Might stay in and (re)watch a Gerry movie as a reward to myself for reaching my writing goal today. However, since I'm being totally self-indulgent and modeling my hero after GB, writing isn't too painful (esp. the love scenes!). Alas, the heroine is NOT modeled after me; that would just be too weird.

Off to finish this chapter, but will check back later!

Yeah, I know, but it costs them 300 million dollars to make...and they need to make it up quickly or it will called a failure. I'm curious to see if it sold out all weekend at the IMAX like 300 did.

It was interesting to see the lines at the theater yesterday when I went to the last showing of 300 at local IMAX theater. I walked right into the theater while everyone looked at me with jealous eyes...LOL!

I won't go see Spiderman until 300 stops playing around here, and then I will go see some other movies. I've never seen Spiderman on the big screen. Why start now? Before 300 came along, the last movie I saw was Beowulf..but I went to over 20 concerts between two movies.

I guess I am a real b--- I won't give spiderman my money at all. I want 300 to make it all and keep the top and not support the others. I can wait for the rent it . I have not felt good all day can you Tell????? Hi Alice Susan, Bethy, Karen, Sue, Erica honey I hope you get to feeling better soon. I am still praying for your mom and you Star I feel everything is going to be ok. I don't think I will make chat as you know my reason for not liking TombRaiders and I don't have the movie anyway. I love him in it though. yum yum :drooldrum: I don't have the other movie either that was mentioned. I need to get a few more to add to the ones I have. I hope everyone has a good evening and please don't be jealous of my video I asked Fran to make it because I loved the I l Divo song so much and just knew it would make a beautiful background for Gerry. I was right. I love it. My husband was watching it he said I can't believe I am sitting here listening to a man sing to me hahhaa he was kidding but he liked it. ya'll be well, more then anything I wish you all good health it means so much. oxxoxoxo lu Betts :hearts:

Hey Gals I am back!

Sue I took your advice I watch a few Gerry movies today.

Betts thanks for the well wishes

This being sick thing is not as bad as I thought....I got to sit on my lazy butt today and watch Gerry movies and spend the whole day at Gals. Really I don't know what I was whining about. To bad everyday is not like this. I haven't had so much fun since I skipped school.

If I could eat now and could get rid of this headache I would be set.

Hey to all you Gals

I went to go see Spiderman 3 last night at the 12:01 am showing. My peeps wanted to go see it and I went. The line to get in was long, curved around the builing, and was mostly male. The movie was good and the fight scenes were awesome. I like the second one better but this one was still entertaining. I got home around 3 am and was feeling it for the rest of the day. Thanks for whoever invented caffiene and Starbucks. What is the point to my ramblings? Judging from the lines, Spiderman will open huge.

Feel better erica! Each some ice cream, that always makes everyting better!

I hope everyone else has a great weekend!

I don't think Spidey will have much trouble making its costs back - but I can still elect to wait awhile before giving it any of my money - probably until I can use my free ticket that I earned from seeing "300" so many times (hee hee). It's going to be a huge summer for sequels, I think 300 will continue to stand alone as the biggest movie that ISN'T a sequel to another big movie this year. We've got Spidey, Shrek, Pirates and Potter - they'll all make big bucks I'm sure (I intend to see all of them).

:grrr2: :omg2: Perrin, How could you?! :doh::humph::wedgie:

But seriously...I did hear that SpiderMan 3 is opening in a RECORD amount of theatres, so I'm sure that alone will send it over 300's fantastic opening weekend. Spidey's not R, right? So 300 will still hold it's record for Biggest "R" rated opening as well as Biggest March opening!! :claphands: :goodjob2:

Love you all!!

Hi Karen,

If you're modeling the hero after GB :inlove: , then I definately will want to read it. Please let us know when it's published.

Welcome to GALS  , I'm pretty new here myself and everyone has made me feel very welcome. It's a wonderful group of people.

Hello lovely ladies. Warm yet grayish Saturday here in ole Chicagoland. I've been off a couple days and we already have a new floor. Wow. I must catch up. Just a quick drive by then I have to go to my son's swim class/gymnastics class/grocery shopping and my continued search for a dress for the ball. I have to cram everything in today because I have busy plans for tomorrow as well w/a brunch followed by a Chocolate Festival.

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and I still have inflammation in my right ear and some water. This antivert stuff is knocking me out. I told him that I'm tired and he said to stop taking it because it has this sedative effect - hum... you think! I thought it was because I hadn't gotten enough sleep. Duh! All I'm doing is sleeping. When I get home I crash, while at work I have my radio to keep me awake. They were right when they said that these bloody ear infections can take a while to clear up if it's a bad case. Good gracious. Its been almost a month now and I still have 8 days worth of meds left. Yikes. I think my body is immune its been so long.

Anyhoo, you lovely GALS have a great weekend. Try and stay dry if you're in a raining area like I and take it easy.

Cassie
