Can the convention location be changed? It's hard for me to get there

Recommended Posts

No, due to the amount of mods/admins/planners that live closer to Las Vegas, it's easier for convention items to be transported via car there. Also, there is so much to do in Vegas that it's a perfect location for sightseeing and shows. The GB Fan Convention hosted by GALS will ALWAYS be in Las Vegas.

Aww durn it Stef. And here I was hoping you'd all truck up to Canada for a visit next year

I like the Vegas tradition. It gives everyone a chance to plan ahead every year, and it eliminates the confusion of "wait, where is it this year..?"

I love it being in Vegas! There's so much to do there and it's a city so full of life. I hope that never changes!

I dont see the issue really. You have a whole year to plan and save. I have already made it clear that I will be in Vegas next year.

And..... what would the Convention be without walking over to the Bellagio for the fountain show! I love that town, you feel like you are in an adult Disneyland! For me, it's very magical.

Note to self: bring sneakers next year!

Hmmmmmmm..... what show to see next year????

Dam - You SHOULD go!!! It's like an adult version of Disneyland. As you enter the strip most people are wide-eyed with awe! It's larger than life and pictures really do it no justice. Plus, everyone there is ready to have a great time, so you can meet some pretty friendly people around town. You'll never be bored there since there is always something to do (geez, I sound like I'm from the Vegas visitors bureau or something!). The cony itself is a blast and a night you'll always remember!

I totally agree!!! There certainly was not enough time to see 1/2 of what was there. So I'm COUNTING on the fact that it will always be in Vegas. so over the years I'll be able to see it all!!!! (this was my 1st conny and my 1st time in Vegas). Has the line formed for next year yet!!???

you really have to work your way down the strip but going from the Excalibur to past Treasure Island is a killer.

The Belagio is HUGE, but I think the Venetian will end up being bigger..they are building an addition on it.

But from what I heard, the Flamingo may not be there next year, they are tearing all that down and rebuilding them bigger.

YIPPEE to always being in Vegas. No matter how often I go there I always want to go back because there is never enough time to see everything. It didn't used to be that way. My ex husband and I went to Vegas with his parents every year for their anniversary in August (blistering hot) back in the mid-80's. Back then if you weren't winning at gambling there was almost nothing else to do to occupy your time. Now I am probably a casino-owner's nightmare. I came to Vegas for 5 days and didn't put a bloody penny into a slot machine, or bet a dollar (do they have dollar tables anymore?) on anything else. I love to watch the fountains at the Bellagio - it never gets old for me. I want to go up in the Eiffel Tower again (did that 6 years ago). I never even got over to Caesers Palace to shop this time, I could easily stay for a whole week around the convention - and maybe I will next year. I have to plan my vacation time around Vegas - all other vacations take a backseat to that one! I need to convince my boss that after 10 years we should start getting 4 weeks vacation (my 10 years comes up this December)!! Right now the policy manual says we get that after 15 years. If Vegas is right after Memorial Day next year I might even come in on Monday, the holiday, and then leave on the following Monday. That would give me plenty of time to get ready for the convention and just have fun hanging out - especially if I can convince my roomie Pam, and Dayna to come in that early too!!

Hey Susan, You talked me into it. You can count on me! I'm so there! :woo:
