Forbes girl
"The Jury" has always been the movie I think of when I think of Gerry's most dramatic role which also tears my heart out. I have a feeling LAC will be even better for Gerry, as hard as that is to believe. ~HUGS~ Kathy I don't know... I mean, I know from the previews that Gerry does get quite teary in LAC, but I think his portrayal of Johnny is so moving because he's able to communicate such vulnerability and human weakness. I'll have to reserve final judgment until October 16, but I think Johnny will remain Gerry's most moving character in my mind! Steph I agree, time will tell! AbandonThought
Steph you're so right. I just watched a clip of it on you tube. A scene in a coffee shop where he's having lunch with a woman. I am now off to search for it to buy. It looks amazing from the few minutes I watched. It's his subtle mannerism's that kill me every time. ~Becca Yeah, Gerry as Johnny really speaks to me. It's amazing... I hear some of his lines in my head as I make my way through my day. asunta
The Jury can be purchased for zone 1 from PBS who made the series. See link below. http://www.shoppbs.org/product/index.jsp?p...rentPage=search
lavender1960
This is an excellent mini-series in it's own right and definitely one of Gerry's best performances. ......................kleenex...........I'm just saying. Ren I am definitely recording it on the PVR. Love the look of the character, wow, fine fine fine, and I had to chuckle, when the camera pans to GB/JD in the jury box he is such a big man he takes up a lot of the box, he dominates the screen and the jury box. Lovely to see a character that is troubled but very sweet at the same time - except for PS I Love You, I've only seen the tough and/swarmy roles. I realize now I have seen Dear Frankie on this same channel, TVO, before. There used to be a site, when I was involved in a fan site for another actor where you could find out if any of the movies or work of any particular actor or actress was playing in any given month but I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me. I often use TVguide.com for this purpose. If you just type in his name and click "listings" it'll give you dates and times for broadcasts of anything to which he has a credit. It pulls up movies as well as guest appearances on TV and talkshows. Steph

While it's always hot to watch him just mouthmaul a woman, it's amazingly beautiful and sensual to watch his hesitant tender kisses. This one in The Jury and also the doorway kiss in Dear Frankie are just so powerful! Steph
jackie62
It seems that everyone loves Gerard as Johnnie Donne and I certainly do agree with you all. For me, it is one of his very best performances ever.

Christine ONeal
I saw The Jury available on Amazon but I was able to get it on Ebay for only $10....
saga
Okay I just have to share the laugh (since I just saw this for the first time). Did anyone else crack up when they're deliberating and the first foreperson (Eva?) says her little bigoted bit about "he did it because of his culture," and Johnnie fires back at her (and this is a quote), "I'm glad Attila the fookin' Hun could join us today." Do you think he laughed the first few times he had to say the line, seeing as he made "Attila" the year before Johnnie? (or at least they aired in that order.) Texas gramma
I'll be willing to bet they added that line just for him if The Jury was actually filmed AFTER Atilla. Gerry was so fantastic in that role. Absolutely one of his best. Suzie
