I write this with tears in my eyes....I had the pleasure of meeting Dee in Vegas and spending just a little time with her...I think we were shopping for shoes....she was the sweetest person.......I feel blessed to have met her if even for a short time.....Dee this is for you Dear Heart....

Go on my friend..don't be afraid,

he has come to take you home....

You will be thought of fondly here,

by all that you have known.

We know he needs you with him more,

yet it is so difficult to part....

Take comfort in knowing,

with your laughing eyes and your contagious smile,

you managed to touch our hearts.

We will not forget,

the memories will not end...

For we consider ourselves blessed,

to have called you our friend.

So go to his side, take his hand, and rest...

We take comfort in knowing, dear friend...

He only takes the best.

I'm in shock I really am. I had the pleasure of meeting Dee in Vegas and I found her to be such a beautiful person. I remember going to her room before we left for the Chippendales show and Suzie was getting ready, but you both found the time to show off your vast collection of mandoll clothes. Oi Vey! :D I took a picture of Suzie, Dee and Elissa at the dinner...

I am both shocked and saddened to hear of Dee's passing. Maybe I missed the post, but I did not know she was that ill. I met Dee in Vegas and we had a wonderful conversation. We talked alot about our weight losses and how much we felt like new people again after having lost the weight. She was the sweetest lady, so happy with her life.

My heart is sad that she is gone. She will be missed.

My deepest condolences to her family.

Rest in Peace Dear Dee.

I just now saw this thread & feel so saddened, but also in shock. I only got to meet her a couple of times, last September in Austin, & in Vegas this year, & she was such a sweet, caring woman. I am so sorry I didn't get to know her much better.

Rest in peace, dear Dee.

My heart goes out to Dee's family for their loss of such a loving and gentle soul. I met Dee in Las Vegas as well, and she seemed so happy and full of life.

I had no idea that she was sick, and her death comes as a complete shock to me! I know that she is still in our hearts to stay, but I am saddened for the loss her prescence made in my life.

God has truly chosen a wonderful person to grace his kingdom, she will be missed here on Earth.

All my love to you Dee.

I am so saddened by this news, but happy that Dee is no longer in pain. I will always remember her mandoll stories, and I wished to be more daring with mine as she was! She will be missed by all of us, and I know that I will remember her with love and fondness!

I am so saddened to hear this! I just got off the phone with Vanessa who told me this terrible news. I, too, first met Dee in Austin last September at the B&G showing, and then saw her again in Vegas, Such a dear, sweet lady! She will be missed here at GALS. My heart and prayers are with her family at this most difficult time.

Oh my goodness.

Wow.

I have no idea what to say right now... just... shock.

Now, more than ever, I regret not being able to make it to the Vegas Con this past year. Just yesterday my Mother reminded me how fragile and precious human life really is, and this really drives it home.

I know Dee's in a better place now, and hope she can rest in peace.

Dee was one of the sweetest gals I've ever corresponded with...I never met her, but we always had fun little 'conversations' via pm. She always had a sense of humor and kind words.

My sympathy to her family and friends.

I am so saddened by the passing of Dee. I too met Dee in Vegas and thought she was such a lovely person. Everytime we crossed paths she had something wonderful to say about Gals, Gerry, Her family etc. I was honored to have seen POTO with her that Wed night. We had a great time. I will always treasure that.

DEE.... You will be greatly missed!!! Rest In Peace!!

I never met Dee, but conversed with her through the mandoll thread. I am just shocked. It is very odd to me, and this may sound weird, that any of us GALS could be in this situation. Everyone here is so full of life and fun and creativity and it seems impossible that this could happen.

My heart and prayers go out to her friends and family.

Gosh, I've been going through such drama with almost every group I belong to, and then I hear this, and I'm just so heavy hearted right now. I don't even know what to say....

Your sweet spirit will surely be missed, Dee.

Thanks for posting this info, Dayna. Also the Baptist Youth Encampment was near and dear to Dee's heart, if there are those who might wish to make a donation in her memory. I have emailed her cousin, Risa, for address details and will post as soon as I hear back from her.

Hugs,

Libby
