raina snow
I want to say to you today Gerry that I heard you say once you always wanted to be remembered. I will have no trouble remembering you. But, I would love the world to know you and remember you too . You are a very loving, caring, person, you have gotten so many citations and awards already. 300 the movie should have you as best actor. Guaranteed you may not be a household word but in my house and millions of other fans, you are and Big Bird is not a household word in my house but yet has a star on the walk of fame. I don't think it would take but just a word of mouth and the knowing that you would show up if all your fans donated their money to get you a star on the walk. I know I have talked to so many already who would give to get you a star. I know you would not get your own, you are to good to do that and all they need is a reason and your fans will give them plenty of reasons, so I just want you to know, I support you in everything you do, and I think this is a wonderful tribute to you if this would be done. Lots of us know we don't have to wait for you to get the Oscar to be a big star, you already are in our hearts. Oscars and statues and yes even stars don't mean a thing they are all material things but it would be one way we could actually walk up and see your name everytime we pass by, we will not always see your oscar or your statues. I Just want good things for you Raina Snow Betts
Midnight Diva
Betts, that is a lovely tribute to Gerry and I agree with you 100%. Everything you said is true. He deserves to be remembered in such a special way. Thankyou for writing such a beautiful letter to our guy. love, Midnight
Guest Pilar
I agree, Di... Bett's message is beautiful. Last I heard, 3,000 signatures are required for someone to get their star on the walk of fame. I think the members of GALS alone, could make that a reality. What a wonderful way for him to be remembered, always.....
Lady Yvonne
Dear Betts, So far, my post has beaten your post. I think I got 30 something with every reason in the world why not to try for a star for Gerry now. I did get a few who wanted to start to work on it. Some thought it a good idea. Those I talked with said they would be happy to give money for it. So, that is not the problem. Something is wrong here. I thought you would have better luck then I did. Well, we put it out there, someone will take it and run with it. I would love to see it. I think he would love to have it, but it must come from his fans. Those who want to see him get what he has worked so hard for and most certainly deserves and has been denied. We know he deserves it and qualifies for it. He has worked his butt off for it. -Literally. Time will tell. He will never be forgotten. :inlove: Blessings, Yvon <><
Dr. Em
Ladies ~ Please remember this also takes $25,000 to make happen, which is NOT chump change! I believe this WILL happen someday, but I think it is still relatively early in Gerry’s career to go for the star. I’d rather see him win an Oscar and/or Golden Globe ANYDAY! Just my two cents worth. raina snow
i know between all the sites and fans we can get the signatures and the money needed i will be willing to find the person to contact about starting this process if need be. I know a star would be there forever for all to see and a great tribute and rememberance to our guy Gerry . THe way he keeps being switched from this part to that one, it may take awhile for Burns or some other film to get him that oscar and this would be a Now thing. it can be done/ Betts
Midnight Diva
Yes, and I see people getting stars on the walk of fame for being basically nobody and done less in the industry then Gerry has. I guess they do buy they're own those ones who are nobody's to me anyway. If we can try, then why not, its not hurting anyone to try. Maybe we should just do it on our own Betty. We can do anything we put our minds too. Right? Hugs, di

Midnight Diva
Hey Gals, I am so behind in my Gerry news, I don't even know if he was nominated for 300. Please let me know... love and hugs, MD
Knight Phantom
I'm not for sure but I don't believe the nominations are out yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he and "300" get nominated.
laxmom
I think after we see if Gerry is nominated for 300, we could begin work on getting him a star. We should try to combine with the other websites since it will need so many signatures & money. Gerry will always be remembered with his body of work. Also, I don't think there is another actor with the number of fan websites he has. He deserves a star!
raina snow
WEll I tried ya'll but its not the money holly wood is so concerned with its a certain criteria that the star has to meet before they will even consider them for a star on the walk. So my good intentions for Gerry have been squashed, sorry maybe when he meets this criteria we can try or Hollywood will give it to him anyway sorry :hmm2: :spontaneous: betts
Abrock
No worries Betts...I'm confident that Gerry will get a star on the Walk of Fame when the time is right. ~Mel
eriksenglishrose
Hi Betts, hope you're doing good. I wanted to let you know what a lovely idea I think this is, but i'm not sure Gerry would want his fans giving so much money to get it. I don't know Gerry and never will, but I would hope that if the wonderful amount of $25,000 was raised by people that love him, he would want that given to a charity or an organisation that could do amazing work with it. I've always wanted Mr B to start up his own foundation (obviously when he isn't so busy) because there are so many people like you who want to do something special for him that it could change a lot of lives. Myself personally knowing that would touch my life so much more than something people just walk on. I hope with all my heart that Gerry gets every blessing and recognition possible and know that if something like this is meant to be for him then it will be. Love and hugs Simone xxxxxx
Susan~Sporran
While I too think it would be fun and lovely to see Gerry get a star on the Walk of Fame, there is an article on film.com today about how many feel the stars placed there are more a studio PR ploy than an honor. If you watch the timing of when many stars are awarded, it is no coincidence that many of them happen JUST before a big film opens for that actor or actress. Obviously the studios see $25,000 as chump change within the millions spent to promote a big film. They also listed some folks you would think have stars who do not, and I'd say Gerry is so far in good company among them: Will Smith Glenn Close Brad Pitt Kate Winslet Robert DeNiro Denzel Washington Robert Redford Julia Roberts Al Pacino Clint Eastwood So, I imagine it will happen for Gerry one day, and I would love to be there to see it, but my preference would be that the $25,000 come from a studio for which it is just a drop in their promotions budget. But that's just my 2 cents on the subject.
