Katelyn D
okok, you knew it was comming, The Phantom of the Opera probably Gerry's second "big break". and one of his most widely known roles. sure his face was covered by a mask almost the entire time, and they attempted to disfigure him is it even possible to make that man ugly? I think not! but---> EDIT: Sorry, please remember to keep your pics at the thumbnail size. Thanks! Edited August 2, 2005 by Dr. Em
candy281
Yeah, He is hot no matter what. (even with a sunburnt face ) Whenever I look at pictures of him playing Erik I have such a weird emotional thing! I feel Happy, (because he looks so hot :gg1: ) Sad, Angry (because he has such pain behind his eyes) and I feel like I could explode!!! He is so talented inside and out! rushandgerryfan
IMO, Gerry did GREAT in this movie. You really feels his pain, well at least I do!
potofiend
This movie truly is awesome. Who'd a thunk we could fall in love with a deformed insane murderer/stalker? I think he definately succeeded in Joel Schumaker's goal of "make it sexy!" rushandgerryfan
What is everyone's favorite part of PONR?? Personally my fave song in the movie is "The Phantom of the Opera" the first one we see he and Christine singing together in. But what is the hottest part of the hottest song in PONR to you? Right now (it may change I suppose LOL) I have two. When Christine is on the bridge above the audience, the way she says consume, and then he takes that cape off with such flair...I can't type right now, I feel saliva increasing in my mouth...I must have corrected 8 typos in 2 lines just now!!! Whoa. *Sighs and calms down* And, I also love it when he says "In your mind you've already succombed to me, dropped all defences.." that is really really hot just the WAY he says it!!! zanyzombie
This movie to me is one of the best on my list!!!!! I had heard about the play and the story line but never seen it or read the book. I first saw Gerry in Dracula 2000 one night while watching HBO...I'm a scary movie freak...(ie vampires, werewolfs, aliens etc.). I liked this movie! Gerry played a great modern day Dracula! I fell hopelessly in love with him when Gerracula says, "Brilliant!" I had to find out who he was....internet search only came up with a very new GB.Net who had just a little bit of info on him. I wondered then why he wasn't famous for his acting! Anyhoo, I never forgot his name or his absolutely gorgeous face & bod! When I heard he was to play the Phantom...I liked freaked because I didn't know he could sing! I listened to the snipettes of the POTO soundtrack from the POTO web site (I think) and was emotionally posessed by not just his singing but by all! I still remember pressing the speaker to my ear to listen ever so closely to Gerry's voice....I was truly impressed! Such emotion in his singing! I was once again lost in Gerryland! After hearing the music I was tortured to death by having to wait months before the movie was released in theaters. I couldn't wait to see him on the big screen and feel his awesome presence! I knew I was going to be blown away! And I was! I was so excited to see Gerry! When I heard his voice say, "Insolate boy.....!" I almost passed out like the girls when the Beetles first came to America! Then to watch him take Christine down the hidden corridor and gaze upon his face (brought back the memories of him from Dracula) I knew I was a hopeless cause. The movie had my tears litterally streaming down my face uncontrollably and I didn't want to sound like a blubbering fool so my throat was tightening so bad because I was trying to be silent that it made it even worse! I've never endured all the emotions (happy, sad, excitement, suspense and so on) in one movie like Phantom Of The Opera! Which is why it's my favorite! I can't tell you that I favor one part over the next because for me I loved every minute of it! :gerik: My favorite picture! Edited August 2, 2005 by zanyzombie
Susan~Sporran
Yesterday the centerpiece of our Southern California Gerry Moviefest was watching POTO - in a room with 30 GALS (or near-GALS Tarts). It was absolutely amazing havng GROUP :gg1: :gg2: s! The A/C had to be cranked to full blast and we were still sweating by the time PONR ended. And most of us agreed that even completely unmasked Gerry is BEYOND HOT! It was an incredible experience to share with so many other women who feel the same way about the movie and the man. I took the picture of the screen as Erik is leading Christine down the passageway. Yummmmy....during the hotter scenes I was too transfixed to be able to use the camera! POTO screen And here is our GALS shirt in its public debut, it was a huge success! (This was at the end of the day after 9+ hours of Gerrython movies, interviews, fan videos and Tarts, so I am looking rather puffy-eyed and tired). Amanda Rose
This movie truly is awesome. Who'd a thunk we could fall in love with a deformed insane murderer/stalker?  I think he definately succeeded in Joel Schumaker's goal of "make it sexy!" My sister questioned me after I watched the movie and asked how I could side with a crazed/stalking/murdering Phantom over a childhood sweetheart like Raoul?Well the answer is easy.. because the Phantom was Gerry!! He brought life to the character and made you as the viewer feel every emotion. Rauol just sat up in his box and cried when it got too steamy between Christine and the Phantom. Gerry def. made it sexy! :lurve:
candy281
Favourite part...ALL OF IT! But the parts that make me :gg1: :gg2: PONR of course! And then MOTN and HIS POUT! luvphantom
As far as I know the POTO version with German track will also have 3 DVD's and an additional disc with the soundtrack. Its out here in Switzerland around 8th September. I'll try to find out whats in it. Especially for you Sofjetje, that would be much easier to get. Abrock
Okay, so I just got through listening to the soundtrack...I haven't listened to it for a while, and it not only got my energy up so I could do some actual *ahem* work, but it reminded me once more why I love Gerry in this role. And then I thought about what some of my friends have said about the performance, about how they should have cast a more professional singer, how he was too young for the role, too handsome, etc etc etc etc et...fookin'...cetera. THIS is what I want to say to them.... Well, ya know what? At least he had the balls to go in there and develop a deep, well-rounded character, make SPECIFIC character choices, in dialogue, movement AND song, and not give some half-assed performance to try and appeal to the frickin' masses with some watered-down acting and singing, like many of those who they were "considering" probably would have done. *back to your regularly scheduled Vanilla*
Cleobethra
Holy Fookin' Hell.. Was that my Vanilla Princess who just posted that?? I am so damn proud of you, honey! And I couldn't agree more! The man (to quotethe ma, himself) "Killed himself" making that movie and it shows. His performance was Oscar worthy! Abrock
Thanks Risa & Bethy. Not sure what came over me yesterday, but I sure liked it when that came out. I realize that not everyone is struck the same way as you or I, but I get soooo SICK of the whole stale argument against my favorite actor in one of his BEST roles. Phantomslover
Well I am not sure about the Euro version but, On the US version on the menu page of disc 2 there is a little thing down in the left hand corner, it highlights as you go down!! That is the cast sing-a-long. Try that, if not maybe someone can tell you better!!
