PHOTOBUCKET ACCOUNT

First thing you will need is an image host site.

I use Photobucket.com.

I find their site very easy to navigate and it's free.

HOW TO: Save a graphic to YOUR computer

1) Put your mouse/cursor over the siggy/graphic you want and RIGHT click on it.

2) A little window opens up.

3) Left click on the SAVE AS option.

4) Then a big window opens up.

5) This is a window to YOUR computer...Save in: MY PICTURES.

6) Click on SAVE...and remember where you saved it on your computer.

7) NOW, go to your PhotoBucket account and follow these instructions from there...

UPLOADING PICTURES

From your PhotoBucket account

Click on the green UPLOAD tab.

A new page/window opens up.

Click on "Select photos and videos".

A message box opens up that asks you to select the file{s) to upload.

This is where you will select the image (from your computer) to upload to your PhotoBucket.

Click on the picture you want to upload.

Folders need to be double clicked to get into.

Choose a picture then > click on it.

The picture name will appear in the windows "FILE NAME" box.

Click the "SAVE" tab.

The window will disappear and you will see the word "UPLOADING" as

the image is being loaded to your PB account.

Let it load. It make take a bit.

It will say, "UPLOAD COMPLETE 1 of 1 image has been uploaded." and you should see your image in front of you.

At the bottom it will say, "Save and continue to my album" Click on it.

It will take you to your album where you can locate your graphic.

IF your picture/graphic is within our guidelines (250x250 pixels) and you wish to post it on the forum - hover your cursor over your graphic.

Then, left click the IMG Code and it will say "copied"

Now, go back to your post on the forum and right click to open mini window and left click on "paste".

Your link to your graphic will show up in your Reply Box.

Click "Post" to post your reply to the forum.

IF your going to add a signature and it's within our guidelines (300x600 pixels) hover your cursor over your graphic.

Then, left click the IMG Code and it will say "copied"

Now, go to your signature box in your Control Panel, right click your mouse to open mini window and left click on "paste".

Click on "Save Changes" on the bottom of your screen and it will save it to your profile.

IF it is a Animated Photobucket Slideshow go here for instructions on how to add it to your profile.

IF your going to add a GALS TRADING CARD or graphic and it's within our guidelines (120widthx160 height)

hover your cursor over your graphic. Then, left click the DIRECT LINK/URL CODE and it will say "copied"

Now, go to your Gals Trading Card or 2nd avatar box in your control panel, right click your mouse to open mini window and left click on "paste"

You will see your link to your graphic there now.

Click on "Save Changes" on the bottom of your screen and it will save it to your profile.

IF your picture/graphic is larger than our picture guidelines or you want to edit it in anyway then click on the "Edit" option above your picture/graphic and you can resize it there.

***PICTURE SIZE GUIDELINES FOR GALS***

At GALS we keep our pictures 250x250 pixels or

we use clickable thumbnails for the members who use dial up.

WHAT IS A CLICKABLE THUMBNAIL? :confused:/>

A clickable thumbnail is a small picture that when clicked on opens a new window

to see the full size of the image.

MAKING A CLICKABLE THUMBNAIL

In your Photobucket account.

Just below your picture you will find the IMG THUMB option.

Left click on it - it will say "copied".

Go to your open post box and right click and chose "PASTE".

That should do it.

If you have any questions, please post them here or pm me or any Mod.

We'll be glad to help! :D/>

Thanks for the thread, Zanes!

Here's some illustrations to help out a little..

For photobucket users..

Click on the thumbnails to see the larger pics for instructions.

Click the little box underneath the pic in your photobucket.

Posted Image

Go to the bottom of the page and click on Generate HTML and IMG code

Posted Image

(Click on the thumbnail to see full size picture)

Select the code in the third box. Copy and paste it into the forum, and you will have a clickable thumbnail.

Posted Image

(Click on the thumbnail to see full size picture)

If the pic is very large when the larger version pops up in another screen from your photobucket, there may be a little set of arrows. Click them to see the large pic at its original size.

*That only applies if the pic is very large, like wallpaper or something.

When you first click to see it on the photobucket page it may look small or blurry.

You'll see the arrows at the bottom of the page and it will make it its largest size.

Posted Image

(Click on the thumbnail to see full size picture)

Example:

Click this thumbnail and you'll see a blurry version of the pic.

Let your mouse go over the pic for a few seconds.

Click on the arrows and the pic will refresh at 100%

:Draculababy: How do I make my photo the right size. I have a couple that I would like to rotate occassionally but they are all way toooooo big. HELP

Hi! Phantomrose!

You can make those pictures into a clickable thumbnail if you want to.

Here are the instructions...

Just below your picture there is a small white square.

Click on it > a green check mark appears.

Scroll down to the bottom right corner of the page.

There you will see a large tab named "Generate HTML and IMG code".

Click on it.

The page will change and you will see five different boxes of codes/links.

We want the 3rd one down.

>IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended<

Highlight it by left clicking on it.

Then, right click on it and chose "COPY".

Go to your open post box and right click again and chose "PASTE".

If you need more help, pm me or post it here.

Cheers! ::D:

Can someone tell me why Photobucket has reduced the size of some of my pictures to approximately avatar size? I have uploaded some pictures to post as clickable thumbnails, but for some reason, the pictures don't enlarge. I have not resized the pictures on photobucket, and the image sizes shown on photobucket are much smaller than they should be. Here's one I posted today in the support center.Posted Image

It won't enlarge.

Lady Elissa ~ Not sure if this is it or not but I noticed it was a png file.

Try saving it as a gif or jpg file first before uploading it to your Photobucket account.

Let me know if it worked.

I feel so inept. :bonk: I already have a Photobucket accnt. with all my pics in it. I tried to get a couple of pics on with my posts but they don't come through. I use this accnt. on the angels site and don't have a problem. I click on the second tag down, right click copy and when I go back to past the code (or whatever that is) comes up instead of pic. I'll check back to see if any one can help dumb old me!

Hugs, Fran

Hi! Fran!

You need to click on the IMG box.

The 3rd one down.

Let me know if that helped.

Cheers!

Hey Zany,

I thought I replied to you to tell you that yes it did help and that you are such a help to all of us less fortunate in the picture posting and that sort of stuff! I hope to get up to speed one of these days. So, just wanted to let you know that going to the third tag down was the trick.

Hey! Fran!

I've never made a slide show before but I think you need to post just the link.

I'll have to check into that.

Is Smiley Central emoticons used in your e-mail?

If so, you need to first "Save" the emotie to your computer and then "Upload It" to your

Photobucket account.

Then, just copy the link and paste it in your post.

Let me know if that worked.

Hugs,

zany

When in "reply" I've tried to show a picture, but all that shows up is the URL.

Help! And remember I'm computer

Dee

Dee...

When in Photobucket, choose the Img code to paste into post if it is already sized to forum regulations.

Otherwise, put a check in the box under the picture, scroll to the bottom of the page and choose

Generate HTML and IMG Code This will open a new page with codes on it, and choose the one

that says IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended

(it's the third block of code from the top of the page).

Copy and paste that in post, and a clickable thumbnail of your image will appear when you hit 'post'.

(While you're still composing the post, all you will see is the coding) To see if your image is in correctly,

before submitting the post, use the Preview Post option! If all is okay, then hit Submit Post!

Good luck!

Hugs,

Barb

Here's what I get when I choose IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards-recommended: then copy, then paste.

Dee..._normal_004.jpg

Then I tried preview post.

I got the following:

Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed.

Barb, I guess I still haven't got it!!!!

Sorry.

Dee

Edit: I've tried several pictures, and I get the same message.

Sorry, Dee, I missed your post...

give me a few more minutes...

Okay...Zanyzombie has a tutorial post in How To...click: here

I have a paid account, so my screens are a bit different than a free account, but let's see if I can do some screen capture instructions.

Here's screen capture for check box and option at bottom of page for generating HTML and IMG code:

Posted Image

And here's what the code looks like when generated:

Posted Image

and the results:

Posted Image

Now, to copy the code, just right click on it and it should highlight the entire code, even the bit that scrolls out of view. If even a [ or a / is missed the code will be 'off'. You don't need to drop the code into the code enabler (the tree in the tool bar above the posting window), it's all coded just the way you need it to post.

Good luck! I look forward to seeing your photo posted! :D

Well, I tried it again. Followed directions step by step. Am still getting the error message: Sorry, dynamic pages in the Dee..._normal_004.jpg

This looks different than yours. I don't see that beginning on yours. Could this be the tag that the error message is talking about?

I just hate being so computer-stupid!!

Dee

Am sending you a PM with my Photobucket user name and password. Maybe you can see something I'm missing.

Ok, I answered your pm!

You just need to copy the code generated

IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended and when you paste it into the message, it will show up, when you hit 'post' as:

Posted Image

but, you must be taking the copy and instead of pasting directly to the message, you must be using the image insert.

Do not use it...

Posted Image

because if you do, you get the warning about dynamic images:

Posted Image

Hope this helps!!

I have to sign off board to do errands, but I'll check back later to see how you did! :D

Hugs,

Barb

Barb, you are a genius. I was using the little tree to insert. Boy I never would have figured that one out. Give me a finance program and I can have it up and running in no time flat. But, I'm handicapped on anything else.

Thank you for being so patient with me. I owe you.

Have a terrific holiday.
