Songbird
I'm having trouble uploading my picture in my new personal profile image. I had a picture posted on the 'old' board. Not sure what's wrong, maybe a setting or something? I get a little yellow triangled ERROR ON PAGE! in my lower browser when I try to post my pic link from photobucket. Also, I forgot exactly which code I'm to use for this. Is it the IMG image for message boards, or the URL for email, Messenger, etc.? Katie Katie ~ Could it be the size of your picture? This is what it say's to add your personal photo. All photos must be no larger than 100 kB. Photos must be no bigger than 150 pixels by 150 pixels. I don't know if that's different from the old board. I uploaded my personal photo from my computer and not an image host. So, I'm not sure if it's the or that you would need. Debrasue
Hey Zanny! It's me...Debrasue ....in the Love Letters from the Lair! How many pictures can we put in one post??? I know there is a size limit per picture...but is there a *total* of how many pixels per post??? And what does *quote* a picture mean? I've been doing quite a bit of captioning with my pictures. I really don't want to mess up bandwidth...could you please help me with the guidelines? Check out Love Letters in the Lair and please let me know... discoveringme
I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here. But Deb, the captioning you've been doing under your pictures is just fine. The "quoting" that was being discussed has to do with when someone is replying to a post and they click on either "quote" or "Reply" at the bottom of someone's post. When we first started in the gutter, folks would post a lot of pictures in one post then the next person would quote the whole thing for their reply. It was getting not only unwieldly to read thru the thread but it would take folks on dial-up forever to read any posts. Bethy asked at the time that we limit the picture portion of the quoting to only two pics. This would save on bandwidth as well. So no one absolutely has to limit their picture quoting, it was just out of courtesy more than anything. As far as there being a limit on pics, that I'll leave to our wonderful Zany. I've never heard that there is a limit on that.
zanyzombie
Thanks Jillybean! Nope, you didn't step on any toes.....thank you for helping! Debrasue ~ "I concur" with what Jill say's. And I have never heard of a picture limit either.
Forbes girl
Am I reading this right? If I want to put a "saved to my computer" emoticon on a post I have to first put it in my photobucket account. Then when I'm on a forum and want to post and put in an emoticon I have to go back to Photobucket, bring up my account, click on IMG on the emoticon I want to copy, go back to the forum post and "control V ' to paste on the spot I want to have it. Am I right? There isn't an easier way? I just love computers! Kathy

Fran was talking about "Smiley Central".........I think those emoties are to use only with your e-mail. That's where the "Save it to your puter" would have come in. In other words, you will have to host the emotie to your own image host (PB). Then copy and paste the code into your message box. Just like any other graphic or picture you want to post. Let me know if that helped. Cheers!

PammieK
MAKING A CLICKABLE THUMBNAIL In your Photobucket account. Just below your picture there is a small white square. Click on it > a black check mark appears. Scroll down to the bottom right corner of the page. There you will see a large tab named "Generate HTML and IMG code". Click on it. I don't get a black check mark. It's green. And there's no "Generate HTML and IMG code" Did I set up a wrong account? I can load pictures. I go in and resize them all. Should I be doing that?? Songbird
In order to assist members in learning how to post images in compliance with our guidelines, I've asked my fellow Mod Squad for some Image Shack assistance. Greyeyegoddess (Alice) is familiar with Image Shack and suggests the following: "If she goes to her account, she should see all her pictures, or however many she has on one page. Each picture has 5 icons listed vertically on the right. The first icon on top has a lower case "i" in it. If she clicks the "i", she gets another window that offers her different links to post the picture, including a thumbnail links for forums or sites." Hope this helps!
