Subscribing to a topic while logged onto GALS from work.

Recommended Posts

Scenario:

I'm at work and want to follow specific threads. I know how to subscribe. But I'm assuming email notifications will go to my home email address (not helpful in the 8 hours I'm at work!) If this is so, is there a way to redirect them to myself at work while I'm here? Am I being clear?

Well, that's a good question, and I don't have a clue. I will direct it to some of our more tech-savvy mods. I never even considered that possibility. I am able to check my home email from work, so I do that several times a day and learn of any notices that way.

Hugs,

Libby

You will only receive subscribed topic emails if you are logged out from the forum. So make sure you are logged out if you want to receive them. If you want to change the email address these are sent to, go to your "Control Panel" and then "Change email address"

Hugs,

Stef

Stef, thanks!

I went into "Options" again and it actually shows info re: how to subscribe to a topic while logged in from work - duh!! I think this is probably a good idea since I'd have to be in and out of my Control Panel on a daily basis to change email addresses ACK!

Libby, thanks so much. I'm unable to check home emails from work (I can check work emails from home!) but got a reply from Stef (w/an "F"!) that was helpful. AND, I did some more checking in "Options" and found additional info.

You're very welcome :) since i'm an admin, i receive email notifications whenever a new topic is posted anywhere, but i don't if i'm logged in so I had no idea about the subscription options myself hehe so i learned something new too. thanks!

I did/asked something right for once - I'm thrilled!! When you're new, (and even though I'm desperate to), it's tough to catch up on EVERYTHING all at once. I want to know what's going on everywhere, all the time LOL. And I can't always (though I want to) be on the site. But it seems, the more I "play" around a while, I find the answers to a questions I had 2 weeks ago - it's like a new discovery! And then, sometimes I come up with ones that really stump me - like this one.

Stef, thanks so much for doing what you do on the site. Admins (and the site) amaze me every time I log on! Babs
