2009 Convention?!

Recommended Posts

Well I'll set up a chair w/your guys since I'm not going for obvious reasons as well. I am soooooooooooooooo hoping that the convention 2009 falls during the same weekend as my family reunion. I can kill two birds w/one stone which would be great. I'll let you guys handle your biz w/this year's convention and I'll wait patiently for the news of 09.

Cassie

I'll pull up my chair next to Cassie since I know she will need me to get her tea for her! But I'll take one of those Gerrita's! ;)

Thanks Dr. Em for saying that the next convention will not be on Father's Day weekend again but now I have to worry if it will be on the same weekend as my daughter's 8th grade graduation? :wall:

Have a Great time everybody! :partytime:

I'll miss ya'll!

I'm missing my daughter's 21st birthday!!!!!!!! First birthday of hers that I've ever missed. :tissues:

But, let's face it...how many 21 year olds want their Mom at their birthday party?

We're actually celebrating her birthday the following Saturday (so she can drink legally *rolling eyes*) followed the next day, June 22, by our 23rd wedding anniversary!!

Hold me a spot in line. I'll be joining you all AFTER the 2008 Con!!

Hugs,

Katie

 KATIE, KATIE!!!!!!!

Guess what I got for Mom's Day???????? "Kindred The Embraced"!!!!!! There is only 8 episodes though!!!!

I thought there were more, but I am happy with what I have. That Mark is gorgeous and I love his hair when it isn't plastered down. The man was wonderful. What a watse of awesome man. He would have been an awesome actor if he could have gone on. I have already watched the 2 discs three times!!!

Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter. And don't let her drink until she eats bread and butter!!!!! I know you know that, but I just had to stick my :2cents: in!!!! And we'll be waiting for you for the Gerry get together. We'll save a Gerryita for you too and some of my chicken salad. As well as some Smore's!!!!

Hugs GAL,

Joanna

Next year's convention?!?! :whoa:

What I do know, however, is that it WILL be during CineVegas in June and it will NOT fall on Father's Day weekend - ever again.

It doesn't help that Father's Day is a week early this year. What is with pushing all these holidays up so far. I'm quite comfy waiting in my chair. Pat needs to be a bit more on top of it w/my drinks but other than that I'm cool. :p

Father's Day is the third Sunday in June like it always is. But with the 1st falling on a Sunday this year, the 15th is the earliest date that it can ever be. But yeah, Memorial Weekend sure feels early this year as well.

See, along with us non 2008 attendees making ourselves feel better by looking ahead, this is also being proactive against the inevitable PCS (post convention syndrome) :D Yeah yeah that's it!

Leave it to Spotty to always SAY what some of the rest of us are thinking.

Thanks for the well wishes Rissa! We're gonna miss you, too, at the 08 Con. Oh Dawn, you just had to bring up the Post Con withdrawals and depression, didn't you? :hug1:

Joanna, I can't imagine a more wonderful gift for any ocassion - A Mark Frankel work (there are woefully too few!) It's been a while since I've watched any of Kindred. It's almost too achingly beautiful to watch him. He was as close to physical perfection (in my eyes) as an actor or man can get. The fact that he was a "fiercely loyal and loving" son, father, brother, husband, and friend, makes his absence even more tragic and bittersweet. A quote on his tombstone is, "Those whom the gods love die young."

Oh, and one more thing about Devin's birthday and Father's Day... they both fall on the same day this year. Devin was jokingly complaining to Wayne the other day by saying, "I'm getting a raw deal with my birthday this year."

(My guilt at being absent on her birthday kicked in instantly!) Defensively, I blurted, "But we agreed that we'd celebrate it the following Saturday!"

Barely paying attention and looking at her dad cheekily she said, "No, not that. It's Father's Day, too, and it sucks when you have to give somebody else a present on your own birthday." Wayne just grinned at her. My two kids; one is 48 and the other is nearly 21! LOL!

PLEASE don't schedule next year's convention the same time as my son's 5th grade graduation

*pours another Gerrita and sits back to wait*

Boy, I missed out when I was a kid - I didn't get a graduation until I finished HIGH SCHOOL!! Do they graduate from every grade now? That sure makes June a tough month for just about everyone who has a kid between the ages of 5 and 25!!

Katie - your anniversary is the same day as mine!!

OK, I'm so not supposed to be here (just back to work with about a 2-foot tall pile of checks to sign sitting on my desk) so I'd better get to it! But we are sure going to miss those of you who won't be there.

Next year's convention?!?! :whoa:

I am BURIED with 2008 details at the moment and cannot EVEN focus on next year...yet. :flee:

What I do know, however, is that it WILL be during CineVegas in June and it will NOT fall on Father's Day weekend - ever again. As CineVegas hasn't set their dates yet, we cannot set ours. I will, however, let you all know dates the MOMENT Joe gives me the CineVegas dates.

If the Hilton does right by us this year (and so far they have been great!), it is more than likely we will again have the convention there next year.

By all means, bring your lawn chairs and beverages and chill with your fellow GALS while we wait.

In the meantime, stay tuned for more great things happening for Vegas 2008!

:hugs:

Dayna

Sorry Dayna,

(Jo says as she is curled up in

a little bal!)

Now, now Jo, uncurl yourself and let's go join in with the rowdy's and formulate some master plans for next year. *guides Jo to chaise lounge and offers her a Gerrita as a peace offering*

 Songbird,

I totaly agree. Mark was a great loss to all and us as much as his family. He was a beautiful man in so many ways. Perfection seems to be such a small word for him. But, yes, he was a very Beautiful Man and to know that he was more than just good looking makes him that much more special to watch. His tombstone is very moving and I think, so true. Yes, he is achingly beautiful to watch. And the physical perfection is still wonderful to see. I agree completely. I am going to treasure thes DVDs for as long as I live.

Hugs GAL,

Joanna
