Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome (continued)

WELCOME to the 54th floor of the 2nd highrise of our clinic! We only have 15 floors to go to reach 69 again!

Thanks Katie for getting the new floor open. Since there is still some time until we reach the 3rd birthday of the site becoming its own domain (we were a free Invision site for about a month first) I'd like to keep the 3rd year celebration going for another floor. So bring on the cake and ice cream (or maybe watermelon and strawberries for those getting healthy) and continue marking the milestones we've achieved since 2005. Hey look, we have over 5,500 members now! From just 50 back when the site was newly formed, to 5,000!! And on top of that we have had several days when over 500 guests were on the site at the same time! We've experienced growing pains, we've inspired spin-off sites (which GALS itself is), we've coined words and phrases, and we've become a FANmily. Here's to many more.

:drink:

For those new to our clinic you can find our previously erected floors below:

AND NOW.... the original thread.

Being the compassionate person that I am, I can recognize a cry for help when I see one. Having said that, I have decided to start a new support group for those of us with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome – from now on, all with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome with be known as GALS.

This group is open to all GALS and non-GALS alike who believe they are in serious need of support and guidance as they realize how serious their addiction has become. This is not a support group which advocates traditional intervention, as the failure rate would be astronomical, but merely a group whom you can turn to who share in your addictions or withdrawals, whichever the case may be. Some of the signs that you have GALS include, but are not limited to:

1. You buy every magazine on the rack looking for photos or articles of Gerry and start to get the jitters when there has been no sign of him for weeks.

2. You drive 500 miles to see a Gerry movie.

3. Your significant other (or just someone you're dating) gives you stark reminders they are SOOOO NOT Gerry.

4. Co-workers, friends and/or family start teasing you for your addiction – people can be so cruel...

5. You become addicted to caffeine because you can’t pull yourself away from GALS...."'cause just MAYBE he'll be on Chat tonight."

6. You obsess with much glee, "Gerry has a computer...and he knows how to use it!!!!"

7. You find yourself asking aloud, "Did he REALLY mean what he said about the 3:00 a.m. thing and does he REALLY wear a size 11 shoe?" Then smile broadly.

8. You catch yourself speaking in a Scottish accent for no apparent reason.

9. You change the decor in your bathroom to accommodate your new yellow towels.

10. The "G-Spot" takes on a whole new meaning.

11. You spend days wondering why a Scot would be named "Andre."

12. You buy “Mrs. Brown” just for the skinny-dipping scene and play that one scene in slow mo and super slow mo, over and over and over again. (Okay, so maybe that was just me.) :D

13. You have a picture of Gerry in your wallet, and refer to him as “your man, Gerry.”

14. You spend your hard-earned cash assigned for other “non-essential” items (phone bill, power bill, etc.) on essential Gerry related items.

15. You go shopping for your “real-life” man and finding yourself thinking, “OMG!!! Gerry would look so :censored: hot in that!!!

16. You have to buy a new hard drive to accommodate all your pics and videos of Gerry.

17. You search through a couple hundred $5.50 DVDs at Wal-Mart because an employee said Dracula 2K might be there.

18. You can't possibly walk past Starbucks without dreaming that maybe... *sighs*

19. You refer to the Gerry wallpaper on your computer as your “happy place.”

20. While looking up at the clouds you SWEAR there's a cloud in the shape of a "G"...funny thing is, the GAL next to you sees the same thing!!!

21. Multiples (Gerrygasms) are an every day occurrence!!!

This list will continue to grow as you tell me your addictions...

Below is a very simple 10-step program to help foster our addiction.

1. You must admit you have GALS. This is so important to further your addiction. Yes, this support group wants to nourish your addiction, not starve it. We are here for you.

2. Come to believe the Great and Powerful Gerry is greater than ourselves and only our visions and/or fantasies can keep us addicted. To truly become addicted, however, one must at one time in ones life made the Gerry Mecca Journey (GMJ) and meet him in person.

3. Make a decision to turn our will and lives over to our addiction to Gerry.

4. Make a searching and fearless immoral inventory of our fantasies of Gerry.

5. Lend your support to those who have GALS, but are yet unable to admit it.

6. Watch every movie (more than once) in which Gerry has a role. To be truly addicted, you must develop a love of all Gerry genres (yes, this includes “Tale of the Mummy” and “Dracula 2000”).

7. Frequently quote lines from Gerry films. Memorize them, use them, replace old phrases with new Gerry lines. This will prove to all your serious commitment to your addiction.

8. Know Gerry’s biography better than you know your own. True GALS will know all Gerry’s trivia. Study it, soak it in, become one with Gerry's biography.

9. Give generously (money folks) to the website which has fostered your addictions and allowed your fantasies to take flight.

10. Convert all who are convertible to this syndrome. This is the true mark of GALS. Do not judge - for your next recruit may be your boss!

As this is a relatively new Syndrome, the above guidelines are subject to editing, amending or scrapping all together as we GALS deem necessary.

The first step to true addiction is to admit you have GALS!! I will begin the group.

"My name is Dr. Em and I have GALS."

All are welcome to join in our group. GALS, we must not suffer in silence!!! We now have a voice!!! Let it be heard!

*Disclaimer: We GALS appreciate not only Gerry’s royal hotness for which there is no rival, we indeed, also recognize his abundance of talent, soul, passion, spirit, sense of style and humor, sincerity...can I stop now? Our addictions are all-encompassing and we embrace Gerry EVERY WHICH WAY WE CAN!!!*

To Cleobethra for our “Warning Label.”

Hello all,

Lisa, I think Susan has the right of it, you are a good writer so you will find a way to make Jack in his own story.

And yes, computer gremlins are the worst. Had a fair share of them myself.

Nay, good one on the Aussie slang. I must admit though only hearing it after the BBQ has been going for a few hours and the beers have been flowing. Struth!!!

I must admit to have a lazy Sunday. So far I have read in bed, got up to have breakfast, read some more, watched a bit of TV and now am here getting my GALS and Gerry hit for the day. Ohh it is so good to have a quiet day *sigh*.

I'm typing this and my eyes keep straying to the left.... Gerry in the boat.... my he's beautiful! And I just love him clean cut and in glasses with that cute side on smile. But then, two day growth and unruly curls do it for me too. Oh yeah, I have GALS

My book is nearly finished and I too joined a writers group. I have found them amazing with all the help, information and workshops they provide. Very supportive. I am working through the first edit and I keep getting to stuff and thinking "did I write that?" Just over 300 pages and it's taken me two years. May never be published but boy I'm glad I did it.

Anyway GALS have a great Sunday and a wonderful week,

Hugs to all

Well, ladies . . . I think I'm going to write part-time and go back to work. This is not a reflection on Wendy's response, even though it seems like it. It's really not. It's in response to the lack of money that would be coming in, and the amount of traveling and playing I like to do, and the amount of Gerry Junk I like to collect, etc. It's not a defeat, by any means. But I'm NOT returning to teaching unless I have to. I'm going to try to find some other job, maybe a county job or something . . . state job . . . something with benefits. I just know that getting a job where I live is so difficult. I would love a job that I can transfer or something when I move to LA or OC next year.

So, wish me luck and lots of prayers that I find a job that I can go to, do my job and come home. The thought of going back into the classroom makes my stomach hurt.

As for the writing, I will do that part-time, and continue to find the right story for MY Jack. Or even MY Gerry. I have plenty of fantasies, and I have plenty of stories, but it's a hard business to get into. I need to take my time and do it right so I CAN get published.

Hey, HOPE should have been my middle name! I will continue to write every week, stay with my writer's group, and see what happens. Who knows . . . a story could come to me tomorrow and all this will mean nothing.

And really, I can do both, you know! Sabrina Jeffries said that she worked full-time and wrote from 8pm-11pm every night until she got her first few books published. So, there you go. It CAN be done!

I love all your support and love . . . :hearts:

TRACY!!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, SWEETIE!! 29 years is quite an accomplishment! You should be proud!

Good Morning Lovely ladies.

Firstly it is a HUGH CONGRATULATIONS to Tracy and her husband, may there be plenty more . :hearts:

Sue, give that husband of yours a big hug from Australia, ths is one of the silver linings in that cloud hanging around. Birthdays are meant to be special, and this one is even more so for you and yours. Love to you :metoyou:

Lisa, follow your heart as far as a career move is concerned. I know what it's like to walk into a classroom. You have to mentally put on your riot gear and cut off all feeling for the rest of the world. It is a shame that the students that really, truely want to learn have to be pushed aside and stunted because of a few. Teachers are not valued anymore, they have to split themselves into so many catergories that teaching really falls by the wayside. From personal exlperience I would just like to say that if it wasn't for you guys on the front line of education, then the whole system would fall apart. Be PROUD of who you are and what you've achieved, you deserve SO much more.

I'm on school holidays, so i'll just coast for another week until next Monday morning at 8am.

:hugskisses: to all those that need them going into a new week.

Much heartfelt love to you and yours from across the oceans

Ali

Hi all,

thought I'd rerun this

People Ask" How can you be friends

with someone you have never met?"

I tell them

"You have never been online I bet!".

It's something people off line

will never understand.

You open up your heart to

friendship with your typing hands.

It's a world full of friendship at your

finger tips,

there is so much.

Online, it only takes a heart

to reach people with your touch.

First you start out online,

surfing all around.

Next thing you know a great

friend will be found.

You will chat a lot and

surf cyber space.

Soon it will be your second home,

a comforting special place.

A Friend to share your

dreams and your tears

and to help each other

wipe away life's fears.

You will share life together

and help each other along

You will make it thru bad weather

because friendship is so strong.

No matter how far apart you go,

your keyboards will keep you together.

and in your heart you will know you

don't need a face to be a true friend forever.

So, How do you explain this to

people who have never been online.

I guess it takes a gesture of

friendship & a little bit of time.

So let's start by sending this around

and passing our special touch.

A smile, a website, a gesture starts it all..

becoming friends doesn't take much!

Congrats to you and your DH, Tracey! Again, - :thankyou: for sharing! :D

Lisa!! We root for you, - praying for you to find the perfect job that'll give you the energy/cash/time to fullfill your dreams!

Sue, - what can I say? You make me proud to be a woman!

Pil, - I hope you have an excellent day! The landing was to your satisfaction? :kisswink:

Jude, - we all feel we sort of know Daniel. He is OURS! With that gal he has to be awesome!

Peggy, Wolfie, me Lady and auntum and mousie and ALL my gals:

Big hug from Eva Mari :wuv:

Hi everybody !

It was a long time I didn't visit you ! It was the school ending and a lot of animation in every school I went this year (the 3 where I was teacher, and the one where my little Jeanne is pupil ... and will be for one year more, after September 1th). I miss a lot of news ...

I put a message for Daniel on the other thread (Prayers).

For the 29th wedding anniversary ... Congratulations Tracy !

Here in France it is National Feast. My daughter Louise went to a ball yesterday with friends. But today, we will watch fireworks on Lyon in family, and we will go to a ball together.

My children succeeded to them exams this year ! Louise (15 years old) succeeds to her exam for the end of first high school. She had notes between 16 and 20 /20 and she has a mention “very good” (if the notes are between 16 and 20 … very good, between 14 and 16 good, between 12 and 14 not so bad, and fewer than 12, no mention). We are very happy and very proud.

And Geoffroy (17 years old) succeeds to the first part of baccalaureat (which is the exam you need if you want to go to university) He has : 9/20 in French literature (writing exam), 11/20 in French , literature (oral exam), 15/20 in mathematics, 17/20 in sciences and 12/20 in some specific works made during the school year. We expected bad notes and we are so happy ... Because he didn't work during the year, always on the games on line or on front of the TV ... But ... he was not so bad !

So, hollidays can coming ! For me the end of school was Friday 11th. Now I'm in vacation until September 1st. But I have to prepare my courses for the next year.

We will leave Lyon the next Saturday, to go to Bretagne for 2 weeks, neart the sea. And in the beginning of August, we will put Geoffroy in a plane for .. USA (Charlotte, North Carolina). With the two daughters we will go to Nice, on the Riviera. One week with Bruno my husband, and one week only the 3 girls before to see Bruno again August 14th (August 15th is the Mary feast in France and he will have 3 days of week end, and in Nice there is a firework August 15th every year ... yes !!!!).

I'm happy !!!

I hope to everyone to be as happy as I am !

Have a good day !

Bénédicte
