Gerard Butler GALS

Phantom Of The Opera just blew me away..

Recommended Posts

Ever since I watched that movie I've been completely and utterly obsessed with Gerry and POTO! Never in my life has any movie or actor or character just really got a hold of my emotions and had a profound effect on them and me. It's bizarre. So, I guess I'm in the right place because I've gone from not knowing who Gerry was to having all his movies and majorly crushing on him! He's quite simply the most beautiful man I've ever seen, especially in his role of Erik.

What a guy, what a film. I just adore it.

Just a suggestion, mind you, but you may want to check out 300 now that you've seen POTO.... :cunning::drool1:

Oh yes that's one of my favourite movies. I have all of his on dvd now. Well all except Jewell of the Sahara and Please, although I've seen them both online.

The Phantom Of The Opera :phantom: bumped It's A Wonderful Life out of it's number one place as my favorite movie of all times. I really love It's A Wonderful Life so you can only imagine how much I love The Phantom Of The Opera :erik:.

Welcome to GALS, LadyPhantomette!

I think it is just amazing that I NEVER get tired of watching POTO and I have watched it many many times. There is no other movie in my entire life that has had that effect on me and no other actor has had me going to the theater and buying all his movies I can get my hands on! Yes, you are in the right place! :donjuan::reddeath2::phantom2::phantom::reddeath:

Welcome to the club, Lady Phantomette! I've been totally under Erik's spell since seeing POTO in the theater in 2004. Although I own all of Gerry's movies and adore him in all of them, none of his characters so far has replaced Erik as number 1 for me. :wuv:

Welcome, sister! Yes, Gerry/Erik has captured a lot of Gals hearts with his POTO performance of which I was one. I am like you - no other movie/character has gripped me so - in fact, this bond goes so deep, it's very difficult for me to express. Often times, I can only express through fan-fiction and tears.

I encourage you to join other Lair Sisters in Love Letters from the Lair forum....this is a haven for all POTO/Erik/Gerik lovers and obsessors. Check us out Here

I "met" Erik last April, 2008 and have not been the same since. I was depressed, in almost constant pain, and just living to be there when I saw it for the first time. By the end, I was hopelessly in love with the gorgeous Phantom that GB created. Especially my unmasked Erik He touches my heart like no other ever has. :erik: He is a separate person to me, so skillful was GB's protrayal. I have written a novel which is coming out very soon, my whole house is covered with pictures of POTO(my friends look at me weirdly) and I spend time every day keeping up with several Phantom sites so I can just talk Phantom. :phantom:

My anti-depressants have been halved, my anger issues are almost gone, and I credit this beautiful film which I have watched Heaven knows how many times in the changes in my life. Since the 1950's my all time favorite movies were "Ben-Hur" and "The Ten Commandments". Not any more. Our beautiful Phantom now holds that coveted spot forevermore as i doubt there will ever be another like him. :hearts::phantom2:

I saw it in 2007. I was totally blown away by his performance.

Now - keep in mind - I hadn't seen 300 or PSILY at this point (I think it was getting ready to come out) but I never made the connection until I actually saw both 300 and PSILY on HBO or Cinemax or something... but by then I had the soundtrack and was wearing it out, and had Phantom screen caps on my PC desktop.

POTO hooked me onto gerry as well. that was about i believe 4yrs ago and am still just as nuts. I go gaga for the last line that he sings "its over now the music of the nite." sooo amazingly done. I am quite certain his biggest fan of his singing. i thought he did an amazing job. cant stop listening to him sing.

As my nickname tells you, I'm a huge fan of POTO. Gerry was my first Phantom and the 2004 movie was what got me started with my Phantom fascination. Now I'm interested in all things POTO- related .I will always be grateful for that . Thank you Gerry !

Okay I watch Phantom of the Opera and saw a ton of Gerry's movies since then. I love Gerry Butler and think he is an amazing actor. I love Phantom of the Opera because it is a musical, Gerry Butler is in it, and the music and singing is completely amazing. Not to mention my favorite quotes are from Gerry's movies. I really hope that they make Love Never dies into a movie and that Gerry will play the Phantom in it.

I've been a fan for about two months (why have I been so blind for so long?), my friend told me to buy PSILY and POTO. OMG!!!!! Gerry's presence on the screen blew me away. He's cute as Gerry kennedy, and sexy as heck as the Phantom. Now I have 20 of his movies. I have Gerry on my desk top at home, my laptop, and school computer. When I move next month, Gerry movie posters in the living room, a Scottish flag. Gerry is the best actor I've ever seen and probably ever will. He sucks you in with his talent, his eyes, voice, his LACK of an edit button, his his sense of humour, etc... his qualities are immeasurable. Welcome to the newbies.

ChaCha what you said regarding Gerry. It was exactly the same for me. Hooked on POTO forever and is still my #1 movie. I have yet to get the CD from the movie but will do so soon!!

I just watched it again. it has been two years for me since I first saw it and I have already lost count of how many times I have watched it. That is to say nothing of when I don't have time for the whole movie, I load one into my computer and play my favorite parts. :yummy:

I have to agree with you. The Phantom was his most impressive role for me too. I never knew the guy could sing, sure I had seen him in films like Reign of Fire, Beowulf and Grendel,Timeline, and Dracula 2000, but when I heard him belt out those terrific notes, I was more intrigued. He sounded so good compared to Michael Crawford, the original Broadway Phantom. I loved his voice and his ability to convey the feelings of the Phantom on his face. Wouldn't mind having him sing to me in that darkness, I'd melt like a sno-cone under that sexy voice! When I see that Don Juan costume, I got hot flashes since the front of the shirt was open, not to mention the way he holds Christine in that scene. That is the stuff of fantasies there my friend!

While I will always be thankful that Gerry brought me to Erik, I now have a much wider knowledge of who Erik was; which is more than could ever be revealed in Webber's version.

Even now, almost 6 years on...Gerry's voice still makes my heart flutter.

Same here !

I love versions other than the ALW version as well , for instance I admire Lon Chaney's performance, and , of course , always go back to the original Leroux novel.

However, Gerry will always be my first Phantom. He made me a Phan :)

It's Gerry's portrayal of Erik all the way for me....No one else interests me ......NO ONE! Maybe I'm just Bias but that my friends is JMO! I still say Gerry shows more emotion in his little finger than the rest of the Phantoms out there! And besides ......who else looks as FREAKEN sexy as he does as the Phantom!???
