Were can I buy that multi-colored beaded bracelet?

Recommended Posts

Unless my memory is shot....I think I sent her two.

If anyone wants one...let me know. I won't go bead shopping until I know how much I need to buy.

Fire Mountain is a good source, and I have bought from them before. However, they do not have red wooden beads, their red is pink, and they also don't have the glass sunburst beads either, and Gerry's bracelet has both of those kinds of beads on it. You can tell the wooden beads from the glass ones on his bracelet if you look close enough. It's a definite mixed bracelet, as so many are - that's the fashion, eclectic, mixed both wood and glass. I've been doing this a long time, and have accessed about every bead outlet on the planet. Sometimes you just have to improvise. That's what I did with the Gerry bracelet I made and came pretty darned close. Enough for me, anyway.

I would like one as well if it's very similar to Gerry's.

Count me in too. I'm too lazy to make my own...LOL

BTW...I have bought from Fire Mountain several times and they are wonderful to deal with. They also have very reasonable prices.

I will have so many bracelets now that I won't be able to lift my arm. Just like Gerry said on Ferguson. He had so many back then.

Ok, I ordered some beads from ebay. It is so hard to find similar ones. Why is that?

If you are talking about similar beads to the ones Gerry's bracelet is made out of...they are not difficult to find, similar ones...you won't find the exact same ones, believe me, I have looked everywhere. But even to find similar ones will require looking in several craft stores and several on-line sites. It took me a while to find the ones I did for the Gerry Bracelet I made, but I finally found reasonable fascimilles of the ones on Gerry's actual bracelet. Beading is not always one stop shopping...I have made several other pieces where I would have to look far and wide for what I needed, both on line as well as craft stores throughout NW Florida. Most places only carry particular kinds of beads, and you just have to shop around. Amazon has the best supply of imitation Trollbeads I have seen anywhere...they are so true to form that nobody would ever know the difference. In your retail stores, the best places for beads is Michael's, AJ Moore, and Hobby Lobby. Fire Mountain, ArtBeads, Amazon.com, are good sources for beads as well. There are so many outlets on line...I ended up going into so may of them, I lost count, but I finally found what I needed. Just watch your prices, as some of them are way over priced for what they are, and you can find the same thing more reasonable just by looking out.

Yes, I am talking about Gerry's bracelet. Where the heck did the fan or whoever made it find the beads?

It is my mission to find similar ones but I find it quite hard to even get those. :D

Just looked AC Moore website and nothing. Will try amazon next. Thanks for the info though.

I'm the one that made the bracelet, the picture is below here....I found some of the beads at Michael's, some at AC Moore and some through various bead outlets on line. Michael's and AC Moore's on line sites are not as likely to have as much or even the same beads as you would find in the stores. I deal with so many on line bead outlets (about 20 of them from time to time), and I honestly can't remember which ones I got the beads I used for the Gerry bracelet from, but I will be glad to go back and try to determine which ones I used (I don't keep receipts or even packaging, I have a special bead box that I have to store my beads in, to keep them separated). When I need new beads, and can't find them in any of the craft stores in the area, I just go into the craft beads sites and start clicking and ordering when I find what I need. The beads for the Gerry bracelets (I made two of them), I had had for a while, so I don't even know if all of them would be available right now or not. But I'll see what I can find for you....

Thanks Sweetie. I know that you made the bracelet on your picture.

I was actually talking about Gerry's original bracelet; I wanted to know where the person who made it find the beads.

Again, thanks for your help with the beads.

I don't think that the person that made Gerry's bracelet is anywhere around...I believe that a fan may have made it and gave it to him, sometime around POTO days, but there has never been made mention as to who it was, and it could have been someone from overseas even. Finding those same beads would be difficult, as beads, like everything else, change styles, colors, etc., from time to time. Some of your basic beads remain the same through the years, but the more specialized ones continue to change. I have searched high and low for the exact ones on his bracelet, and have yet to find some of them. Another reason to think that some came from a European market. Maybe someone in the UK made it.

I'll be going to Scotland in October and plan to shop around in Edinburgh and Glasgow and see what I can find there to make a bracelet from there. You never know what you might find...
