Wonder how Gerry would feel knowing that he's the equivalent of bare "breasts" for the ladies in this picture? This is definately a "man's" flick. However, if Gerry wasn't in this, I'd probably not see it. For all the scenes that are too intense for my delicate sensibilities, I can always use my levator palpebrae superious muscles and call out, "oh baby, alright!" without anyone being the wiser, especially in the darkness of the theater! :cunning:

Thanks for the heads up, Swannie and Barb.

Just read the review--at least it was a good one!! I will see the movie but I plan on focusing

on Kable (Gerry) and hope to ignore the gore as much as possible. It will be bloody, that is

for sure. I trust that GB chooses wisely and as long as the movie has a message and a purpose

(a little more than killing and sex) then I can handle it. Tomorrow at this time I will be sitting

in the theater finding out!!

I think this is a spectacular review by and for the audience that most Neveldine/Taylor flicks are aimed at! This is good news!

WE, for the most part, will be going anyway. It's the other segments of the population the producers need to be concerned about. And if the reviews on the other 'gaming heavy' sites (eg: IGN and Ain't It Cool News) are as blown away as this guy was, I'd hazard a guess they'll have a hit on their hands.

It was probably easier to ignore the gore in 300 as it was all CGI. I have no idea what kind of gory stuff they will be throwing at the camera in this one, but as long as none of it belongs to Gerry's body parts, that's OK. We can always close our eyes if it gets too intense. Not typically my kind of movie, but hey, Gerry is in it!

Ditto to what you said, Suzie. I'm not much for gore usually. *shivers* But I'm intrigued by the trailer. I have "Crank" at home that I've been meaning to watch so maybe I'll watch it tonight finally to be prepared for tomorrow.

I had to laugh at the line in the review "Watching him run through this film.... is more entertaining than you might imagine and, I’ll wager, more than enough to get the ladies in those seats on opening day." Hmmmm, seems someone has been paying attention.

The last time I saw TUT, there was a Gamer poster in the hallway. A few of the guys leaving TUT with their girlfriends/wives pointed out it was the same guy. So here's hoping for a good opening weekend.

Review is a fairly good description of "Gamer", which I just saw at an advanced screening.

My initial impression is that Neveldine & Taylor have not only raised their own bar, but blasted it out of existence.

It's one wild ride, so fasten your seltbelts ladies! Me? I'm definitely going again.

I planned to see it this morning - in fact it starts in 1 minute - but alas I'm still at my desk. So maybe tonight I will get to see it. When it was first announced and through the early information about it I felt this is so NOT my kind of movie. Then I saw Crank (also NOT my kind of movie) and found it not only violent but absolutely hilarious in parts. I actually enjoyed it, so then I began to look forward to Gamer. I will for sure see it by no later than tomorrow.

The review was good but the comments were not good! I've seen a few great reviews and a few horrible reviews...unfortunately I think we are going to have to wait til it gets a good week-end in to really tell... I was supposed to go tonight with my son but he wants to wait til after the week-end and avoid a crowded theater! I relented but with a huge *sigh*

It's Neveldine and Taylor so half are going to hate it and half are going to love it. I'm on the 'love it' side. Love the camera, the action, the pace, the story/moral, the characters, just plain enjoyed it in a way I have enjoyed very few movies this summer. And that's the truth. I'm more of a "Julie & Julia" kind of gal but loved Crank (saw it once Gerry had signed on for this) and really enjoyed Gamer. It is not a nice world it shows but neither is the one we live in, all the time. Go with an open mind and relax and take what it throws at you, it all comes together fairly quickly. Enjoy!

(And Gerry is fantastic!)

That's exactly what I did when I watched the movie earlier - I focused on Gerry and forgot about everything in the background. So sexy...

There was violence in the movie??? I never noticed anything but those gorgeous eyes and that god of a man.

I can handle violence on a movie, just not in real life. Kable comes across to me as tortured soul and I

really want to see it even if it it is gory. The gorier the better as far as Hubby goes. I love when Gerry makes movies Hubby likes too. I will watch if Gerry is in it as long as it is not porn.

Love,

Tracy :yay:
