This was a cute twitter from the weekend from someone in the lineup to get into SNL

kmcaulley: Gerard Butler played a joke on everyone waiting tonight. He snuck up behind the fans and went "WHERES GERARD BULTER" and it was awesome!

Really??? Bwahahaha... Who knows if it's true...

Thanks Hazel Eyes for the inside scoop. What a shame they didn't have an opportunity to utilize Mr. Franco more fully but yes I forgot that a lot of stuff gets cut at the last minute on SNL.

Hey Dutchie [Hoe gaat het? Mijn ouders zijn van Nederland. Ik ben Canadees. Ik spreek een weinig Nederlands.]

Yes I was trolling twitter on the Weekend and a lot of people knew GB from his actions films but were flabbergasted that he could sing and he was in Phantom of the Opera, the movie. Hopefully he's gained a few million more fans, ha, over the weekend and some of them go see his new movie, bwah.

Hey ;) cool that your parents are Dutch and you speak some of it. [ leuk je te ontmoeten!;) ]

I really think his performance was an eye opener for a lot of people who now got to see how versatile he is and hopefully will go see him and support him in all his future projects. :)

- but I'm thinking they had too many Scottish-oriented stuff already.

I of course would have loved an all-Scottish show!

Well, I'm thinkin' that they needed to SAVE some stuff for his next appearance on the show! I really think they should let Gerry do the very opening where he would say, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!" I have an excellent idea for that opening skit.

Gerry is being interviewed as himself. He takes a seat across from the interviewer who is a woman. She's this uptight, plain looking, lady. As the woman starts to interview him, he keeps interrupting her with compliments, "you have great eyes" or "I love your blouse", etc. As he keeps flattering her and flirting with her, as we know Gerry does, getting her all discombulated and then he starts unbuttoning his shirt, his cuffs, one button at a time, takes off his shoes, undoing his pants, she gets more distracted, he takes off his shirt, he gets down to his boxers, all very slowly, one thing at a time as this woman is trying to keep her cool and continue the interview then just when she can't take it any more, she demands the camera's be cut off, she loosens her own clothes, throws off her glasses, lets down her hair and just before she takes off her own clothes and jumps Gerry, he shouts, "wait a minute!" and she says "why?" he then says, "Because we're LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!"

Shall I "pitch it"?

Delene

Actually, this would be more for me then the general population.

Okay I am Lorne Michaels and you are hired :fans: ......I wish. Can we throw in some cupcakes too?

Hey I bet we could come up with some great ideas. I was hoping Jamie Foxx would show up as his In Living Colour character Wanda

and stalk Gerry, just seeing Jamie dolled up as Wanda, would make me howl and then seeing Gerry's reaction and they could take that in a few directions........take it to a whole 'notha level

Oh my goodness. yes I was trying to remember what Wanda was always saying, "rock your world".

I wonder if Jamie was doing that character on set at all whilst they were filming LAC. I remember Gerry saying they were always singing Jamie's hit Blame it on the Alcohol, is that Kanye West's new theme song?

[Anybody see that Ted Casablanca covered Gerry in his daily video report - I had to admit he was funny. He said Gerry told him he wasn't getting enough sleep these days for a few reasons, ehem, and I think Ted said too much fornication not enough masturbation so he can focus on his occupation and his sleep deprivation or words to that effect- I'm in a silly mood it's post SNL hangover]

I am thrilled to hear how well the show did - that means Gerry will almost surely be back to host again! Also, it is great to hear how many people now realize just how diversified his talents are. It reminds me that SNL is how I discovered Hugh Jackman. I knew his name from the X-Men movies (which I had not yet seen) but when Kate & Leopold came out he hosted SNL and he started singing Christmas Carols during his monologue and I was hooked. So now Gerry did something similar and hooked himself some new fans. Way to go Gerry! An all around quite successful weekend career-wise I would say. BTW- I know nothing about Shakira's personal life (single, married, attached) but as I watched her performing I kept thinking what a hot couple she and Gerry would make.

But why, why, why not? Let's see - she's beautiful, talented, Latina, intelligent, well-read, a philanthropist and verrra flexible. What's not to love? Yes, she has a fiance but heck they've been engaged for years and keep putting off the wedding, she must be waiting for someone better to come along - like Gerry!!

Is it just me or does White Pete keep getting funnier the more you watch him. I also love Jason Sudeikis dancing in the background.

White Pete's definitely got some moves...............I mean he is the sexecutioner. ;)

Absolutely!! :lmao:

Susan, cause I would be even more jealous than I am now.

Ahhh....Lisa - that's what I THOUGHT the reason was! I was going to say - is the real problem that she isn't you (or you aren't her) and I think you just admitted that's it. I vewwy vewwy sowwy 'bout dat.

Don't worry, Lisa. Gerry is never going to get hitched. There's no woman that can tame that stallion! And it seems that even when he does let someone get him in the corral, his spirit gets restless and the call of the wild is too strong and the urge for the wide open range is too great, and he jumps the fence. Sometimes you have to leave the wild things unbroken because to do so, breaks their spirit and changes who they are. Like I said, some just aren't meant to pull in double harness. :spit:

Lisa, I think you have a case of selective hearing. "Isn't that right, Gerry? One hoof strike for yes, two for no."

I'm going to sneak in the back door on this since the MTV post has been disabled. I'm frankly shocked that anyone here would discuss that show as if it were anything but a joke. He was being sarcastic. Wow. I'm disappointed. I thought Gals had more brains and class than that. I'm out of here for a looooong time.

I looked at the thread and there WAS a disabled message. I'm not crazy. I saw it.

If that was some kind of an internet booboo, I certainly do apologize.

I'm upset that anyone here would actually discuss this as if GB meant what he said on that ridiculous show. I can't get past that. I might as well have been reading JJ. And, sorry, if I think a show host/hostess is a vapid twit, I'll say it.

Anyway, I simply adore the man. And, I just can not tolerate people picking his every word to death.
