How can I get a dummy US IP address?

Recommended Posts

I have read that non-US PC users can get dummie IP addresses so that they can access sites that normally don't stream outside the US. I found a couple of sites that offer a proxy server but it did not do the trick.

Can someone offer some advice please? It will help non-US GALS very much.

Thanks,

Theresa

Theresa,

It won't be possible since the IP address is generated by the internet service provider and is unique to the MAC card in the high speed modem. However, if you are able to hook up with someone in the US who has desktop streaming software (GoToMyPC, Itivity, etc.) you might be able to access the US site. Good luck.

Sorry, I am not very technical, what do you mean "hook up with someone in the US who has desktop streaming software (GoToMyPC, Itivity, etc.)"?

Thanks,

Theresa

This type of software allows remote control of a computer. It does require that the host allow the remote caller access, but once granted, you can use the remote computer just as if you were sitting in front of it.

Have you thought of getting a Verizon wireless card from the US and using it in Canada? You may want to ask Verizon about that... I don't think I would mention that you live in Canada... just see what they say
