While I don't believe I'll ever meet him, I have very detailed and intricate daydreams / scenarios in my head about a relationship with GB. I hate to admit this. I fear everyone will think I'm crazy. (And I mean that in a purely geographical way) Theresa, as to your question, I think with time, your strong feelings about Gerry will settle off into a comfortable somewhat removed personally place of fandom. As for myself, I realized (quite a while after being a fan) that even though I completely support Gerry and his career, he will never know me on a personal level. But that's okay, too. I can still support him and let my voice be heard at the box office! If it helps, a lot of us have been through the same thing (and some of us are in the same place as you). It will get better. I certainly don't entertain ideas about meeting G on a personal level, I don't even think I will have the courage to ask for an autogrpah at the premiere. I am very realistic about all this and this why I want to be able to control my reaction on the "date/girlfriend" front. I guess you do have a point and eventually I will go from infatuation where I am now to a calmer, more comfortable state. It definitely helps to be able to share feelings here, it becomes a lot easier when you put them out and then receive some reaction from people who have been where I am now. Thanks, ladies! Theresa I so agree with both of you. I just started with Gals and it helps to know you're not the only woman in the world asking herself how do I deal with this kind of amazing attraction to this man? We all obviously find something(s) extremely rare in Gerry. I guess what puts me in my happy place in this respect is knowing that everyone who comes in contact with him loves him because he is a genuine, sweet and gracious person. You don't hear that about many celebrities. I guess we just have to figure that he was out there all along and we are lucky that he does what he does so that the world can have a glimpse into his beautiful soul! D Oh, I totally think she is gorgeous. What I meant was that if some of us feel our heart tug when we see him walking down the carpet with a woman, then to me, my heart falls deeper when I see him cuddling with a woman, even if she is hot. Also, I agree with Leslie too that we are lucky that we have GB in our life no matter in what form. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with such an obsession :) To Songbird, don't know who needs the warning, but please know that I'm just discussing my feelings for GB and not speculating or criticizing any person in GB's life. That is the gentleman walking with him into the hotel and they are being escorted by attendants (and yes the chick in the orange looks like JA ... ).Fry Guy has a name - Nick Boyle. LOL Nick is one of Gerry's buddies just like Ariel. (to clarify - about a year ago Gerry was pictured after a root canal and then at lunch with a friend who was stealing Gerry's fries from his plate. This friend is Nick.) I am glad that Gerry is having a good time and has been invited to such a gorgeous location for a soiree like this. It's almost too bad they have to take so many pictures and that the invited guests can't just be left alone to have a good time. Ahhh to be rich and famous .... It rings the same bell that rings for me with George Clooney and vintage Cary Grant (It Takes A Thief-ish era)....and nothing sends me to my happy place faster. But the resort! Good grief, that is a gorgeous place. I think we ought to explore renting a 747 and having a GALS Convention on the beach....or in one of the bathrooms as stated before. I'm glad Gerry is enjoying himself in advance of the premieres, his birthday celebrations, and all that is coming up after that. Good for him. And wonderful for OUR viewing pleasure! I'm new to cyber stalking GB so I don't know all the ins and outs of his friends and such. I guess his friends don't have jobs. He mentions how he always has friends with him. Meaning they are not dates. Often time’s photographs are cropped leaving out other friends that are with Gerry (which is the case in Gerry’s arrival photo, his buddy is left out of the first photo) or he’s meeting and greeting someone but not with them. And his affectionate and flirtatious nature is misunderstood by the press. By his own admission he’s a born flirt and the mere act of flirtation does not mean that he is seriously attracted to every woman he meets at a party. He would flirt with my 88 year mother if he met her! So I figure whenever Gerry turns up at events over and over again with the same woman or is pictured out and about with the same woman then we can probably assume he has a steady girlfriend. All those women are pretty familiar as they are British and because people like Donna Air are gossip fodder and in the lovely trashy magazines I like to read and she has not changed much looks wise in all the time she has been famous I know them by sight. Natasha is to me a fairly well known British Actress who has appeard in several US movies and Californication on US TV. It is a game certain sections of the fan community have when people male or female are spotted with Gerry and their names are not initially known they are given nicknames that would relate to the situaton they have been photographed in so they can be easily identified in future converations and fans will know the exact person/situation they are referring to. Stupid I know but people have to keep themselves amused . As ws pointed out Nck Boyle was spotted with Gerry the day he got his root canal and took a fry off Gerry's plate hence given the name Fry Guy . Since most of the nicknames refer to women we will just leave it at that as Gerry's private life is his and not for us to speculate. As for dealing with your emotions when Gerry is spotted with a female only you can learn to deal with it - you either allow it to consume you or you get your head round the fact that chances are he aint never going to be yours. Even though you may be jealous as hell that is all it is jealousy - not something that should send you mentally over the edge or into full blown depression - if it does then it has to be something deeper than Gerry and he just triggered it off IMO. Gerry has done very well to keep his private life just that and if he does get serious about anyone as long as he gently introduces her into public life so we get used to it rather than wake up to find he got married and nobody knew he was dating - that would maybe be too much for some fans to handle .
