My Yellow Tulips

Recommended Posts

My Yellow Tulips by Lisa Duncan

(yellow tulips represent hopeless love)

My Yellow Tulips

Sit in the window, waiting

For the Sun to hold them

And make them feel alive.

My Yellow Tulips

Grow stronger at the touch of warmth,

The kiss of water; and loving words

From the one who cares

My Yellow Tulips

Once plucked from their Earth

Begin to wither and perish

At the loss of a touch, a kiss, a word

And they fade

My Yellow Tulips

Ache to return to the arms of the Sun

The vase, a poor replacement for

The true love of the Earth

My Yellow Tulips die

And return to the Earth

To be revived and continue

To love again.

How beautiful Lisa. I know there are a lot of us who feel that way at times, but we're all such wonderful and amazing people (...you know this!) and so it's only a matter of time before our Yellow Tulips will blossom once again!

p.s.- This is my 1000th post! Wooooo! :D
