Gerard Butler: The Scottish actor is sexy because he's old-school real: Every man has a bit of the sexist and chauvinist in him, if he's honest.

Well I think Aussie men certainly see themselves that way from my experience, I always found that refreshing.

I like that photo too! I can imagine that there's a picture of Gerard James somewhere that looks just like that when he was about five years old, his hair combed just like that for his first day of school, of course without the scruff!

Sexist and chauvinist? Our Gerry? Where did they get that? Flirty? Definitely. Out to have fun with consenting ladies? Why not? But where did they get it that he is sexist and chauvinist? If anything, he seems to respect women.

I think they are perhaps confusing him with his character in Ugly Truth though I have to be honest, some of things he says or things attributed to him could be considered borderline sexist and chauvinist depending on the women - different women view "flirty" differently I am afraid in this PC world, not everyone has the same sense of humour. I mean that one interview with the great interviewer from Norway, the one for RocknRolla, if GB had said what he said to a different female interviewer, she may have been very very offended.

The reason I found Aussie men refreshing in their chauvinism, or old fashioned views or however you want to characterize it and not all Aussie guys I met were like that just most, though back in 1988 but I have Aussie friends so it hasn't changed a whole lot, but I found it refreshing because a lot of North American men pretend to be enlightened and they aren't. I prefer "" what you see is what you get".

Oooh, I bought that magazine last night - and what a surprise I got to find a BIG PIC of Gerry inside!! :drool1:

The pic in the magazine is a Nathaniel Goldberg pic (this one, only full length, boots and all - I love it!):

http://www.gbgalsgallery.com/v/magazines/g.../WomEs9+09_.jpg

The pic is spread over the 2 centre pages of the mag - I'll have to be careful removing the staples without wrecking the pic (maybe I'd better buy a few more just in case!!)

Hi, Theresa, mag/writer didn't say that about Gerry. The part in the blurb printed with the pic in the magazine actually says: "Maybe it's his way of calling it like it is: after playing a chauvinist opposite Katherine Heigl in The Ugly Truth, he conceded, "Every man has a bit of a sexist in him, if he's honest." And that may not have been exactly what he said either!

Cheers,

Vicki

:yay:

I haven't found this magazine yet in Tassie, but wow...I have to get it. I usually always get the Sexiest People of 2009 issue anyway, but what an added bonus that Gerry is in there!!! :D Also gotta pick me up a copy of Men's Fitness, although that's not usually a magazine I would buy!

My niece bought me the Who magazine as she thought I needed to add it to my collection of mags featuring Gerry.

Will keep my eye out for Men's Fitness mag, not one I would normally buy either, but hey, Gerry is in the mag, so must have a copy to add to my fine collection!!!!
