Susan~Sporran
Welcome!! Here we are on the rooftop terrace of the 2nd highrise of our clinic. What a luxurious terrace it is with magnificent views and plenty of space for that intimate dinner for two followed by dancing cheek to cheek in the moonlight. Ahhhh.....wouldn't it be lovely? Also, please feel free to offer suggestions as to how you would like the next building of the support center to be constructed. Another highrise? Perhaps a few low-rise buildings? Maybe a spa room, or a pool cabana, I'm open to ideas. This is our GALS Mantra: Sink the Boat -- Ride the Phantom!!! A HUGE THANK YOU to QAZklh for making the graphic for us..." AND NOW.... the original thread. Being the compassionate person that I am, I can recognize a cry for help when I see one. Having said that, I have decided to start a new support group for those of us with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome – from now on, all with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome with be known as GALS. This group is open to all GALS and non-GALS alike who believe they are in serious need of support and guidance as they realize how serious their addiction has become. This is not a support group which advocates traditional intervention, as the failure rate would be astronomical, but merely a group whom you can turn to who share in your addictions or withdrawals, whichever the case may be. Some of the signs that you have GALS include, but are not limited to: 1. You buy every magazine on the rack looking for photos or articles of Gerry and start to get the jitters when there has been no sign of him for weeks. 2. You drive 500 miles to see a Gerry movie. 3. Your significant other (or just someone you're dating) gives you stark reminders they are SOOOO NOT Gerry. 4. Co-workers, friends and/or family start teasing you for your addiction – people can be so cruel... 5. You become addicted to caffeine because you can’t pull yourself away from GALS...."'cause just MAYBE he'll be on Chat tonight." 6. You obsess with much glee, "Gerry has a computer...and he knows how to use it!!!!" 7. You find yourself asking aloud, "Did he REALLY mean what he said about the 3:00 a.m. thing and does he REALLY wear a size 11 shoe?" Then smile broadly. 8. You catch yourself speaking in a Scottish accent for no apparent reason. 9. You change the decor in your bathroom to accommodate your new yellow towels. 10. The "G-Spot" takes on a whole new meaning. 11. You spend days wondering why a Scot would be named "Andre." 12. You buy “Mrs. Brown” just for the skinny-dipping scene and play that one scene in slow mo and super slow mo, over and over and over again. (Okay, so maybe that was just me.) 13. You have a picture of Gerry in your wallet, and refer to him as “your man, Gerry.” 14. You spend your hard-earned cash assigned for other “non-essential” items (phone bill, power bill, etc.) on essential Gerry related items. 15. You go shopping for your “real-life” man and finding yourself thinking, “OMG!!! Gerry would look so :censored: hot in that!!! 16. You have to buy a new hard drive to accommodate all your pics and videos of Gerry. 17. You search through a couple hundred $5.50 DVDs at Wal-Mart because an employee said Dracula 2K might be there. 18. You can't possibly walk past Starbucks without dreaming that maybe... *sighs* 19. You refer to the Gerry wallpaper on your computer as your “happy place.” 20. While looking up at the clouds you SWEAR there's a cloud in the shape of a "G"...funny thing is, the GAL next to you sees the same thing!!! 21. Multiples (Gerrygasms) are an every day occurrence!!! This list will continue to grow as you tell me your addictions... Below is a very simple 10-step program to help foster our addiction. 1. You must admit you have GALS. This is so important to further your addiction. Yes, this support group wants to nourish your addiction, not starve it. We are here for you. 2. Come to believe the Great and Powerful Gerry is greater than ourselves and only our visions and/or fantasies can keep us addicted. To truly become addicted, however, one must at one time in ones life made the Gerry Mecca Journey (GMJ) and meet him in person. 3. Make a decision to turn our will and lives over to our addiction to Gerry. 4. Make a searching and fearless immoral inventory of our fantasies of Gerry. 5. Lend your support to those who have GALS, but are yet unable to admit it. 6. Watch every movie (more than once) in which Gerry has a role. To be truly addicted, you must develop a love of all Gerry genres (yes, this includes “Tale of the Mummy” and “Dracula 2000”). 7. Frequently quote lines from Gerry films. Memorize them, use them, replace old phrases with new Gerry lines. This will prove to all your serious commitment to your addiction. 8. Know Gerry’s biography better than you know your own. True GALS will know all Gerry’s trivia. Study it, soak it in, become one with Gerry's biography. 9. Give generously (money folks) to the website which has fostered your addictions and allowed your fantasies to take flight. 10. Convert all who are convertible to this syndrome. This is the true mark of GALS. Do not judge - for your next recruit may be your boss! As this is a relatively new Syndrome, the above guidelines are subject to editing, amending or scrapping all together as we GALS deem necessary. The first step to true addiction is to admit you have GALS!! I will begin the group. "My name is Dr. Em and I have GALS." All are welcome to join in our group. GALS, we must not suffer in silence!!! We now have a voice!!! Let it be heard! *Disclaimer: We GALS appreciate not only Gerry’s royal hotness for which there is no rival, we indeed, also recognize his abundance of talent, soul, passion, spirit, sense of style and humor, sincerity...can I stop now? Our addictions are all-encompassing and we embrace Gerry EVERY WHICH WAY WE CAN!!!* To Cleobethra for our “Warning Label.” Susan~Sporran

Hello all my delightful GAL Pals, as usual Cat has been soooo busy. I'm having a hard time catching up on emails even, currntly have 156 to check *sigh*. Much of it needs reading too. So I really should check every day I guess (this time it was two days *sheesh*) Hope this find you all well, enjoy the view from the rooftop. Swansong
Been ages since I posted in here! Hello everyone. My life has taken a difficult turn lately, so I'm popping in here, hoping to get lost in Gerryland. How are you all doing with the decorating and getting ready for Christmas and the holidays? I haven't even started yet! Way behind for various reasons. I hope to start next week after our brand new dark red front door is installed. I can't feel the Christmas spirit yet, but here are some images to get you all in the mood: Love you all! Swannie

FRANNIE, How's PEGGY doing? Well, I think it's "official": SUE is NOT a vanilla girl judging by that new CHOCOLATE siggy!! I hope I don't get corrupted being here. 'Night all. Just when I get the time to visit I find we are on another floor, sorry I need a recap now of all the news here in the SC please. To all the newbies................... and the new babies. Oh my Gerry looks so yummy.......just thinking........Gerry and chocolate........Gerry smothered in chocolate..........STOP! Better go now I think I have lowered the tone far enough! Have to get myself prepared for yet another rendition of TJ singing 'While shepherds watched' and a chorus or two of 'Jingle Bells' while he does his homework..............and then ..........we have to watch Christmas movies.......again! And it is only December 3rd. Be good everyone, hugs, Anna X
Texas gramma
Oh My! The old fanmily is getting back together for the holidays! Anna is here, and so is Kat and Mel and Swannie and Nancy and Linda. Where's Peggy??? Hugs to all the regulars trying to keep the Support Center alive and huge hugs to our returning lost lambs and the new lambs too! Christmas plans are in full swing here and we are very excited (panicked?) by the prospect of snow in tomorrow's forecast. We won't get enough to have to run a plow (good thing too because there are none in San Antonio!) but they are expecting around an inch. Last time we had snow here was in the early 80s and NO ONE knows how to drive in it. We have enough accidents when it just rains! I'm staying home! Anyway, I have my tree up and am having problems finding places for all my collections in this smaller house. Between the Christmas dolls, nutcrackers, Christmas angels and Santas, I should have bought a 3,000 square foot house! Not to mention all the centerpieces I've accumulated! Garage sale, anyone? I've been fighting a really nasty cold which has joined forces with the allergies I already had. Between the two, I've been forced to buy stock in Kleenex and I sound like a fog horn. Plus I feel crummy! I hate this!!! Taking my headachy self off for a rest now! Suzie
Cassie
Hello ladies....How is everyone on this fine, chilly Wednesday. I'm currently looking out my window here at work at the snow flurries coming down. Drats! Well, good thing I bought my little girl some snow boots and cute snow pants on Saturday. I'm usually late w/buying these things then I'm the fool running around trying to find them and shocked that they're all gone. Suzie - I hope you feel better soon. I'm fighting and I mean fighting this what I believe is yet another sinus infection coming. I went home last week to St. Louis and we rented a car and the car REEKED and I mean REEKED of smoke. They didn't have any other rentals so we were stuck taking the stinky one. My nose has not been the same. Well, I'm trying to get some last minute stuff done while I'm taking a quick lunch break. I'll be back soon to chat. BTW, I was just thinking, am I a bad mother if while taking my son Cullen who's 6, to daycare (before/after care) every morning before school we sing a song that most would consider not child like? I mean he likes it and REALLY gets into it but he has no idea what he's singing. I think it's funny as heck but then again I'm the bad mommy here. We sing "Sex Bomb" by Tom Jones. Now, TJ is before my time and not really my thang but I LOVE that dang song and it's on a mixed cd I have in my car. Well my son loves this song so it has become our routine to play it on the ride to daycare. Hey, I'm just glad it's not Kids Bop. I'm so sick of Kids Bop. Oy! Anna
Poor Suzie, take care and Get Well Soon. Cassie, And you too sweetie, I would love some Tom Jones or any song other than the repetitive Christmas songs TJ sings at me. Tonight we had Sugar Plum Mary alternating with Jingle Bells my head hurts! He's also 6yrs old and will sing along to anything, Queen, Abba, Jonas Brothers, but this constant Christmas overload is driving me silly........but I do love him dearly. Off for another 'read' with the magnification turned up to 300, hugs, Anna x
irish
Anna and Suzie and Cassie ... all here in one morning....YES! Ummm Cassie, I know you live in a different time zone than me...but sweetie, it's Thursday where I'm at and I think I'm suppose to be behind you...so GOOD NEWS...you only have one more day till Friday! And I can never picture you as a bad mom. You may have a wee bit of problem though when Cullen turns to some sweet young thang with those gorgeous eyes of his and starts singing "Sex Bomb" to her! Oh Suzie, ! That's my fear right now...is getting a cold or flu before Christmas and not making it down to see my grandbabies..so I'm staying pretty close to home and taking lots of vitamin C! I picked this Peggy original gif of the basket filled with pink roses because it always reminds me of you....can you believe that the gorgeous pink azaleas you and Elissa sent me in the basket are still blooming outside? I replanted them into a pot in August and they have been blooming on my patio all this time.... (I took this picture the other day). OK, now we need to get Frannie and Peggy in here!!! FRAAAAANIE.....PEEEGGGY...where are you? Here Anna, come closer and sit next to him and let him warm you up... I, for one, would love to listen to TJ serenade me!!! hugs to all my SC sistars! love, Sue
Anna
Thank you sweetness, I feel much warmer now.....just noticed I posted a picture of Butler instead of Gerry, Oh my poor eyes! Now that is so funny, let's just keep it quiet and they may never notice. Sue we do have a webcam here and TJ will send a video as soon as I can get it done....may need some help from Himself, that's if Mister Grumpy can stir himself, this is his season of 'Bah Humbug', that is until the real festivities begin, meaning the ones that include eating the Christmas fare, sipping Port and eating chocolate, hugs, Anna X Edited December 3, 2009 by Anna
mommaduck
Gosh, it is good to have all of you coming back in here--I miss hearing from you. I usually make my posts short, but sweet (at least I hope so!) I do feel as if I know you, and I hope you know that I do come here and read and keep up with whatever posts you make! Swannie, I am sorry for your troubles--I have a few of my own this year, but I am trying really hard to get into the holiday spirit. I do wish we lived just a little closer (it is a LONG 100 miles) and I don't drive the freeways, but maybe we can plan a little gathering when THE BOUNTY comes out--I will get Little Duck to drive me North!! Rather than repeat everything that has just been said, just please do add me to the list for prayers and well-wishes whenever they are needed. You are such a great group of friends and I don't know what I would do without you--and hopefully I won't ever have to! Swansong
Finally crawled out of bed. Had no sleep last night but got up at 4:00AM to fix hubby's breakfast. Went back to bed and slept until noon. What a waste of a day. I have been listening to Christmas music to try and get in the spirit, but I have found that the Christmas spirit cannot be forced. It just sort of steals in upon you when you are not expecting it. I hope that happens this year, because I love that feeling. For now I'm STILL working on the revisions for Chanson. Ugh! It's a cold clear day here in Portland. Last night the moon was so bright and beautiful...but very cold looking. We may get some snow flurries later in the week, but for now we just have wind and dropping temperatures. Isn't it great that Gerry has been able to stay under the radar in the UK? I really hope he's having a great time. Hello to Judy, Suzy, Sue, Anna, Nancy, Susan S, Cassie, Linda and all the other GALS! Terry's Witch
Oh it does feel like Christmas with all the friends coming back to post. I've missed you all as well. Swannie, hugs dearest. Take care of yourself won't you. I will try to get back more often. Here the weather in warming. Actually it's very curious, some days its 21C and the next its 31C. We can't keep track. Hmmmm something about global warming I guess. Retirement house plans have gone through council and we should see them starting the foundations in the next two weeks. Then 30 June next year and I'm out of the full time workforce WOOT! Then I can concentrate on writing. I have about four stories with magazines and keeping fingers crossed one of them gets picked up. Love you all Take good care Hugs to all Cat

Anna
Good Morning Everyone! Peggy! So nice to see you here, I am quite out of the loop so need to play catchup with my Galfriends. It is so difficult to read posts on 300 zoom and I tend to loose the will to live, it's so slow. The alternative is to just use the left eye but that's naughty plus it limits my vision. We have the sun this morning here, makes a great change from rain, haven't popped my head out yet but it looks cold. Awww! Gerry does love his Mum! Keep well Galfriends, hugs, Anna X
