Anyone see Tony C on 24 last night? It was awesome!

Gerry is just about an hour away from me at the Sundance Film Festival but I can't go! :tantrum:

Oh well, have a great day!

Mousie~ I didn't even think of Gerry being there! I wanted to go anyway, but now I REALLY want to go, but alas, I live in Cedar City now, 3+ hours away... :(

Hope everyone is well! It snowed about a foot and a half here over the weekend. My roommates and I baked cookies for the boy next door who shoveled our sidewalk. When he came over to thank us, he had a half-eaten cookie in his hand. Cute little highschooler... :)

Much love,

Amber

I used to live in Salt Lake...and never once ventured up to the Festival (traffic, crowds, $$$) But it would be different now if I knew Gerry was there...I'd be up the canyon PRONTO.

Just have to hope for him to come to the Toronto Festival in the Fall... :D

I just wanted to show everyone how Mama Goose is doing. The babies have hatched and are just blooming. She coaxed them out of the nest and into the food and water I'd put down for them. Within hours, they had wandered in the general direction of our little lake. So healthy and so cute - I hope they call or write sometime!

Just a quick  to all my Galfriends in the SC...haven't been here myself much. Just seems so quiet lately! AAWW you know me...I've always got my head stuck in PI making siggies or some other thing! But I do like to check in every once in a while. Don't want you guys to forget me!!

It's so good to see some of you guys. Hello to everyone and here's hoping you are keeping well and happy here as January draws to a close! When did that happen?

This week is when our local Shasta Celtic Society is having their Burns Night...and although a little late (5 days), this HUGE banquet for 200 with pipers, dancing, harping, tatties, nips, and HAGGIS ==== BESIDES the American traditional prime rib dinner.....I am the membership chair -- but had to step up to do the $$ and banquet reg when one of our stalwarts had to go have surgery tomorrow....so have my head down in the banquet planning....barely making it through all the marks....

But SURROUNDED by lovely men in kilts, bagpipes skirling in the distance, and lots of good friends from all around northern California coming in for the weekend.

Wish you could all be here.....

Good morning everyone!!! It's cold, snowing and miserable here this morning so I thought I'd visit the site for a bit for some sunshine and to say: I LOVE GERRY!!!

Hope you all have a great day and for those who are sick: I hope you feel better soon.

Posted Image (or afternoon/evening)...to all my sistars!!

burrrr Sharon, we just had a few days of sunshine after what seemed like forever of clouds and rain...but today is not quite as sunny (more cloudy actually) and I fear our rain will be back soon (not that we don't need all the rain we can get here in CA)...but seeing the sun and the mountains covered in snow (they have been completely hidden in the clouds also) sure lifted my spirits:

Posted Image (even Bonnie was singing a happier song!)

It also gave my friend Sean a chance to work most of the day on Dan's memorial garden ... he asked me to stay away for a few hours so he could surprise me and when I finally was allowed to see the bench he had made I started crying...it is so beautiful. He said he hopes to finish today and when he does I will take pictures to show you.

Jill, I think I'm ready to join!! So count me in for next year!!

Susie, they made it! I know how worried you were about them. Oh, if they only knew how much their human mommy fretted over them in the bad weather and did everything she could to keep them safe and warm! Of course they will keep in touch!!

Frannie, any word yet???? I'm waiting on pins and needles (though I'm sure it's much worse for you).

Well, I guess I had better go get dressed and accomplish something today! Bryan and family will be heading up here tomorrow which means I will have a few days to love on my B2 and Fynn!!

hugs and love,

Sue

I've never seen a backyard as beautiful as yours, Sue! I'm glad the bench turned out so well. And Bonnie looks like she's singing a happy song. :pointy: Have fun with your grandbabies!

Oh thank you Mousie :wuv: ... it was mostly all my hubby that made that backyard what it is. And than the good Lord's handiwork in the mountains we are surrounded by makes it even more special to me....(but living where you do I'm sure your views are spectacular!

Here's a picture of the bench Sean finished today (he wasn't able to get the entire garden done today...but soon (after all he is doing this in his spare time)...but the bench just means the world to me.

Oh wow, Sue!!! That is absolutely amazing! That is going to be the very very best memorial to Dan --- moments in the morning or evening -- you, the garden, the mountains, Dan, and prayer.....completely wonderful...and you bet I'll sign you up!!!

Ok.... bed. I'm exhausted! Love to everyone.

:menkilt:

that sounds like a lot of fun! They have a Scottish Society in Memphis and I keep forgetting to join(meaning I get busy and literally forget) I saw in the paper where they had Burns night festivities and I was like "Dang it! I missed it again!" :menkilt:

That is really beautiful Sue.Your Dan did a really beautiful job with the backyard too. :hugs:

Just wanted to take a chance and stop by while it is slow here and before we loose power(crossing fingers and toes and praying we don't).We are getting hit hard by that huge Winter storm. It started sleeting and freezing rain last night, had a sheet of ice over everything by 11Pm last night and it has been snowing since around 8 AM,we have been getting about an inch an hour. I'll post pictures later,i've already been out stomping around in it  I love snow.I don't like the danger of it as far as driving and the potential of loosing power,we went out and bought an emergency heat source yesterday, but I love walking in it.The still silence of it is kind of calming.

For those that need a smile!

I just have to share with you all my breakfast outing this morning! It made my day! So my mom, aunt, and myself went to McDonalds and I walked up to order, got the food, and sat down. My mom and aunt went to get the drinks and that's when I looked up and standing across the room from me was one of the little girls I had in class!! I haven't seen any of them since December 17th so as you all can imagine I miss them horribly. And so it started.....She was holding grandma's hand smiling at me and since I couldn't go to her(purses and such) I said "Come here" (a few times) each time she grinned and as they made their way over her grandma said "She was so excited when she saw you...she wanted to say hi". I said "Hi pretty girl" and she grinned(never said a word) and I hugged her. I love little kids!

:hugs:

April, that's so sweet!

Sue, the bench dedicated to Daniel is gorgeous! I can't wait to see the completed garden. Daniel would be so excited about it! I know there isn't a spot in your house or garden that don't remind you of Daniel, but now this area will be his extra special place!

Caution: Venting be here

That is, if I had any energy to vent about anything. Let's see... it's been four weeks of school so far, and I've written SIX PAPERS. That is absolutely insane. Also, I am unexplainably sad and kind of angry and lovesick right now and it's driving me up the freaking wall. I guess this is where I say "Fook the bus." Haha, haven't heard that one in a while. </vent>

It hasn't snowed (thank goodness) for the past few days, but crossing the street is still death because of the melting-snow puddles on all the street corners. Next school year, I will have a truck. Hopefully.

I hope all you Gals are well! Love you all. Be always safe and happy!

Love,

Amber

Amber,I'm sorry you are having such a rough time right now.I'll pray for ya.

Ok...snow update and pics. We now have 9" of snow on level ground and a foot +in the drifts. And it's a layer of ice, snow then the top layer of snow has frozen into ice as well. This is NW Tn btw. Needless to say I won't be going to church tomorrow or anywhere else.My Dad drove my Mom to work earlier(we used to live in Germany so he thinks he's an expert at driving on ice/snow..which he is,pretty much although it still makes me nervous) and they called me and said that the roads are solid ice and packed snow.

Ok pics...

3hrs after snow started

6 hrs after snow started-5" at that time

and I haven't taken any pics today. But I did go outside and build a messed up snowman Calvin and Hobbes style and waited for someone to notice it.Dad didn't.Mom did and shook her head ....mission accomplished. I built him to look like he is melting.(yes I am bored) Anyway...we're snowed in.

I love Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin's snowmen were incredible. I remember one where a giant snow chicken had buried an axe into a stump and a beheaded snowman was laying on the ground. Calvin was yelling at his mother "Define 'normal' " I loved seeing what he would build next.

Or the ones where he made it look like his Dad's car had killed on of the snow men and there were 3 others who witnessed it. OR the ones where they are bowling...with the head of one of the other snow men who is frantically searching for his missing head. Or the one of the snowman laying across the driveway with tire tracks across his body. Or a whole army of snowmen looking in the window....ok is it messed up that I remember all of those?... :embarassed: I just like playing pranks lol

Nan!!!! Welcome home sweetie!!!! How's the trucking doing in all this messy weather across the country? I think about you often (and lift you up in prayer that you will be safe out there). And thank you...those scriptures are very special to me and were very special to my Dan'l.

Suzie, you are so right my dear friend....I can't wait for you to see it in person and for you to sit on it this summer....

Amber....Posted Image

Andrea, beautiful picture...but are both of them the same picture??

hugs to all.

love,

Sue (who is patiently waiting for my grand babies to wake up from their long naps :music: )
