Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome (GALS) continued

Hi Guys! Happy Sunday!

I've been meaning to post these pictures from St. Patrick's Day but I kept getting distracted by RL! Anyway, these were taken of Elissa and me and our Wee Men as we were watching the River Parade from our box seats at the Arneson River theater.

Posted ImageElissa. As you can see, Mrs. Pinky made her GALS debut. The wee men in the picture are Gerry MacKuel, Kable, Scotty and AJ MacErickson.

Posted Image I of course, am wearing a shirt bound to get me into trouble. Thankfully, it did not.

Here are a few favorite pictures of the River parade and the San Antonio River which had been dyed green for the occasion.

Posted ImageThe Guinness barge is dyeing the river. Do you recognize the setting from the Sandra Bullock movie, Miss Congeniality?

Posted ImageThe wee lassies from the Inishfree School of Irish Dance - they were awesome!

Posted Image Some of our friends from Harp and Shamrock.

We had a wonderful time and only got a little bit sunburned!

Two, new grandbabies in one week!! WOW. What a blessing. I am sure all will go well and

mothers and babies will be fine (of course, as mothers, we won't be happy until it is a

fact.) My daughter had both of her babies c-section and she recovered so quickly. Much

better than I did with my most difficult delivery. I will be looking forward to hearing how everything goes.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. It's raining again, today, but not a "storm."

Hugs to all,

Judy

 everyone!

Suzie, great pictures from the St. Patrick's Day festivities. I obviously had no idea that I was being photographed with the wee men.

Tracy, I hear you about the Farmville addiction! Mine is Vampire Wars! :D

Diane, congratulations on the new soon to be born grandbabies. I had a C-section with my daughter after a 24hr labor. I was awake for the whole thing. Hubby was by my side in the delivery room shooting the bull with the doctor about fishing! Men! :gah: Anyway, Erin and I came through it all just fine and were home in 5 days. Now we send C-section moms home in 2 or 3 days.

Hugs to all!

Wow, 2 grandbabies at once sounds like a lot of miracles! How awesome.

Love the pics of the St. Patty's Day celebration with the boys. They have such wonderful and diverse wardrobes, I am in awe and a little GREEN with envy too. Sorry about those plumbing problems in your yard, Suzie, and hope they find it and fix it pronto!

I had a great but short stay in Vancouver. I went alone and shared a suite with a dear woman from Alabama whom I'd been conversing with on the Adam Official site for months. She took me under her wing and made sure that I was included in every plan that was made if I wanted to participate. I got in late on Thursday night and she texted me to come down to the lounge, that Monte and Tommy (the lead and bass guitarists for Adam) were there. So I went downstairs and got to talk with Tommy, got a picture with him (that I look HORRIBLE in so I won't be posting it) and later I got him to sign a page in the little scrapbook I made from their New Years Eve concert. Then I spent quite a bit of time chatting with Monte (he is also lead guitarist for Madonna and he was the one who introduced Adam to Madonna last year). Adam and Monte go way back, they have written music together in the past and had a band called The Citizen Vein for awhile (they were very good, but never got a recording contract). I got a picture with Monte and another lovely lady I met that night whom I knew from the website. Monte also signed a picture of him in my little scrapbook. Then Longineu the drummer came in. He was the only one I had met briefly before, on my birthday. I told him that he had been my birthday present and getting to meet him that night and get a picture with him had been the best thing outside the concert itself. He was so sweet and said he was happy about that.

The next day I took the Skytrain down to the Waterfront. I LOVE good mass transit!!! In fact the train had a stop right at the hotel/casino where I was staying and where the concert was held. I walked around town, did a little shopping (only bought a hot brush for my hair and some candy bars they don't have in the US) and then took the train back to the hotel. I got ready, went to dinner with a few other "Glamberts" and then we got in line for the concert. They allowed people to stand in front of the stage and most of the women I had been with decided to do that to be right up front. I knew that I didn't want to stand for 3 hours or more (from 7 when doors opened until 10:30 when the concert ended) and I had a 4th row ticket anyways so I sat and am soooo glad I did. I took some video and got some really good pictures. The concert was amazing, each time I go to one it gets better than the last one even when it doesn't seem possible for that to happen. After the concert we had all agreed to congregate in one of the lounges and the band sans Adam had said they'd be there later. It took awhile, maybe til almost midnight before they got there but then they hung out for well over an hour taking pictures, signing autographs, chatting with fans, and I got to meet Camilla who is the new keyboardist - she was adorable but shy this being her first experience with Adam fans. I got a picture with the 3 guys, Tommy, Monte and Longineu which I love so I will post it here along with my favorite picture I got of Adam during the concert. So I still haven't met Adam, not even briefly (though several other fans met him at various times - in the elevator, in the lobby, etc - I never saw him except on the stage). We got to bed after 2 a.m. and had a 4:45 wakeup call to get ready, checked out and to the airport.

Posted Image

Longineu the drummer who pleases the women in the audience when he drums topless!!

Posted Image

My favorite picture of Adam from the concert

Posted Image

Me with Camilla the new keyboardist (my roomie had given her the mask as a gift and she asked if it was OK to take the picture with it).

Posted Image

My favorite - Tommy Joe Ratliff (bass guitarist), me, Monte Pittman (lead guitarist) and Longineu Parsons III (drummer, no longer topless).

I got home in the afternoon and thank God my husband is starting to do better. Today we went shopping at the swapmeet near here - we haven't gone in a really long time - and I succumbed and bought myself the most expensive handbag I've ever had - but it is gorgeous. It is convertible to a backpack and is hand painted and signed by the artist. It is painted with peacock feathers, a flower blossom and a butterfly and it is really a piece of art. I justified it that I was spending the money that WOULD have been spent for David and I to be touring Victoria today (that actually would have cost MORE than the bag).

Well I didn't mean for this to be a dang novel, I guess that happens when I haven't had a chance to post much in a long while. Thanks for indulging me.

BV I'm sorry to hear your brother is acting up. As the older sister it can also be very angering to see the aftermath of younger brothers acting up.Mine did that for years but thankfully he's settled down now.you'll be in my prayers.

Thanks for your support Andrea!   All that thing was really stressful. We even thought there would be a need of plastic surgery, 'cause what had happend to his face was terrible. But still we'll see in a week or so if there's a need of surgery. Oh, what a silly boy!  :(

Hey, I have Vegas to look forward to!  BTW:  If any of you are still on the fence about attending, JUMP IN!  We are trying to arrange some very special surprises and we will have some very special guests (Sorry, Gerry will not be there!) but ReNo, his totally sexy (short lived) "cellmate" from LAC will be there, and we are working on others too.  You won't want to miss it!  Besides, its tooo awesome meeting some of your GALfriends in person.  No matter how wonderful the cyber hugs are, they don't compare with the real thing!   Registration information is here:  http://www.gerardbut...showtopic=28888 .  I promise you that if you attend once, you will be back year after year!

Huggles, Suzie

Oh, how lucky you are to have this meeting!   :)

Swannie, I will be praying for Bill and for you dear. I can only imagine the stress this is on you...maybe even more so than Bill.

Oh BV, I had no idea that it was that bad. I hope that your brothers face heals perfectly well on it's own.

Cat, when are we going to see some pictures of the building project? I'm dying to see you dream retirement house. It's a lot of work...but isn't it exciting. I know Dan'l and I looked back after we were finally settled and considered it one of the funniest times we had....picking all the colors and tiles and well...just everything.

Susan, I'm so glad that you had a good time....you so deserve it. And most especially I'm glad you came home to find David doing better...what a relief that must be for you hon.

Hugs to everyone.....

love,

Sue

He stood up to go down to the bar and ended up on a committee! Gotta love the Irish! :p

That is just too funny.

Hello there everyone,

I have not been here in so long and missed so much happening with you GALS. I read and say silent prayers for those who need it and send you all a

It is looking more and more like my two due to be delivered next week grandbabies (a granddaughter by my daughter and a grandson by my DIL) will be so close together--even possibly the same day! and they are at two different hospitals too! Oh worra worra! My daughter may have to get a C-section delivery. Her OB doc telling her the baby may be too big for her pelvis and baby is still up too high with no dilation yet. I have had NO experience with C-sections in my family so I am a little more than nervous for her. This is her first baby. She had wanted me to be IN delivery with her and her hubby but maybe that won't happen but I will be there for any help she will need. My DIL and son will have her mother with her.

My DIL will be induced next week if nothing happens before then. She and baby are doing well and he is in head down position and they are ready. More than ready for things to get going! They are both still working so days don't drag by. To the girls it's been a LONG 9 months but time has passed so swiftly for me. Thanks GALS for keeping them in your prayers. It means so much to me. :hearts:

Hope you all are having a great weekend.

Hugs,

Diane

Congrats on the upcoming grandbabies.I've had 2 C-sections,first one because he was too big to fit through my pelvis, second one because we knew if his brother didn't fit he wouldn't(he was bigger). It's a piece of cake. It is scarey your first time but you don't feel anything except a bit of tugging when they pull the youngin' out. And you have to wait a little bit longer to hold them because you have to get all sewed up.They didn't let me go home till 5 days after mine. And she will be plenty sore for awhile, but it's manageable soreness usually. But I know in my case, having my Mom around for a few days when I got home was a big,big help.(their dad didn't help me much)

Hi Guys! Happy Sunday!

We had a wonderful time and only got a little bit sunburned!

Suzie

Looks like ya'll had a blast :)I've never been to a St.Patty's day parade but I've always wanted to.

Thank you,

Swannie

Will pray for ya'll.

Sorry I haven't been in here much.Have been working on a new project. And I'm really excited about it.But i'm not showing or telling anyone what I'm doing till I've totally completed it.All I will say is it was a spark of inspiration.I've been searching and searching for something to make to sell for the warmer months because no one wants knit hats in this weather(it was 80 before noon here). So we'll see.I'm super excited! :yay:

AND i'm trying to teach a almost 4 yr old how to ride a bike...indoors(no flat surface outside). And for some reason the two boys have been really, really hyper these last few days.I've been going to bed before 10:30 lately. They wipe me out!

Hey everyone. Mel's out of surgery, it went really well. Her gallbladder did show signs of getting bad so that was most likely the problem. I updated the prayers thread.

Diane: two grandbabies in one week? That is so awesome! :pointy:

Swannie: hoping everything turns out all right for Bill.

Everyone else: have a great day!

Just wanna say Hi! to everyone!  :grouphug:

Diane! What a great news!  :congrats:

Andrea, so you keep everyone in ignorance of what you're creating? That is unfair! Esp now when we know that there is smth you're working at  :p Hope, you'll show it to us later  :)

My mother has gone to Khmelnitsky (the city where we used to live) to settle some problems about the building process (which lasted for too many years). Well, seems like I'll have my own home in a year or so. I hope so. 'Cause we had too many problems with all that stuff.

Mousie: Give Mel my best wishes. Good things are going well in that regard

Heading down the coast this weekend and will take some pictures of the new house. The garage door should be in and the rendering should have begun so you can really see it taking shape. Bathroom tiles should also be down so again a good time to show off the place. So if you can wait until Sunday I promise to post them.

Black Velvet: Yes it is nice to have a home for yourself. Hope all goes will with your mother in Khmelnitsky - I had to look it up on Google :-)

Swannie: Hope all goes will with Bill. Hugs and prayers always.

Amanda: Your siggy is not half bad also.

Hey Andrea, Suzie, Alicia, Judy and everyone - Huge hugs

It is nice to know that you are interested Cat, that you looked it up in Internet! :) Khmelnitsky is a regional centre. It is not so big, but still very popular with our people. Unfortunately, they forget about its historical heritage, and come here only to buy stuff on the biggest Ukrainian market :( Edited by -=Bl@ck_VelveT=-

:thankyou: galfriends for all the good wishes for my soon to be delivered grandbabies. Lord what a blessing for hubby and me! LOL. No news yet. My DIL will go into the hospital tomorrow night to be induced unless there has been a last minute change. So by Friday maybe late night I will have a new baby grandson to go see. My son's first baby.

and my daughter has a checkup today to discuss the possible c-section and when it will be happening. Her original due date is 19th. Thanks for the advice, and encouragement, Andrea mc and everyone! I know nothing at all about c-sections and everyone has been very helpful in reassuring me that it will not be so bad for daughter. This is her first baby, too.

thanks for your prayers and concern, my friends. It really helps so much to have that. I will keep you updated when I can.

Swannie: I have you and your hubby in my prayers. Praying that all goes well.

Black Velvet: Best wishes that all goes well for you and your mother.

Susan: Loved the pics and reading about your adventure with the concert and meeting the guys. Glad you finally got some time to just enjoy and relax.

:welcome1: seaalicia. Look forward to hearing more from you.

well, I hope to be back later with news on TWO grandbabies. I hope soon to know what names the parents have picked out. LOL, they both have kept it a secret all along!

Diane

update: Daughter now says that doctor wants her to wait a bit longer. Back to her original due date of 19th again. He thinks she can deliver normally and not have to get a c-section. Needless to say daughter wanted to get things rolling now. I know she is very uncomfortable.

Hi all, Although not so with many of you yet, it is Friday in Australia. Thank goodness. Busy busy week. My projects are all beginning to come together. I have three big IT infrastructure projects and 2 software projects with releases coming up. Coordination is everything LOL. Have two new staff coming on board as well. So, little Cat is tres busy.

That said, we are heading down to the coast to check you the house and take pictures later this afternoon. I should get them up on Sunday like I promised. I'm told the tiler is nearly finished, the painter is in, the render is on so it should be looking more like a home than a construction site.

Diane: I've probably missed it on the thread somewhere but I'm assuming twins. I hope all goes well for your daughter. These days it's so much easier than when you and I were having our babies. My best wishes to you, your daughter and her husband.

Swannie: Any news on Bill. I don't normally visit the prayer thread so I would love to hear how things are.

Hugs to all

 everyone! Well, I have good news and bad news on the job front. The good news is, I got a raise, the bad news is, the census has been way down and since I work on an as-needed basis I've been canceled more than I've worked for the last 3 pay periods. In my position no work = no pay. I did get a call today to ask me if I can fill in for 4 hrs tomorrow, and it's been raining all day, so here's hoping I get to work. In case you're wondering what rain has to do with it, I work in the newborn nursery and rain usually brings in the deliveries. Don't know what the scientific reason might be, but like full moons, we seem to have a baby boom during those times. ;)

Hope all are well, Diane, hope those babies are born soon and that your daughter doesn't have to have a C-section.

Cat, I think Diane's grandbabies are from her daughter and daughter-in-law, not twins.

Hugs to all!

I will try to remember everything I wanted to comment on.

BV-that's really great that you'll have your own place in the future. That is my goal someday as well, but it'll be awhile. I will have to look up Khmelnitsky I'm not familiar with that town....And yes I am keeping you all in the dark on what I am creating till I have made sure that it will work. :)

Diane,if she can deliver without a c-section,more power to her! I tried he just got stuck.lol

Terry, sounds like your house is coming along.I enjoyed building a house(back in '08) just didn't appreciate the price tag lol But planning all the colors etc..was fun.

I've got alot going on in our world right now.My children and i are all celiac and on Sunday someone who watches my youngest at church ever so often, disregarded the written notes that he is celiac, and don't give him any crackers except his own crackers(that are gluten free) and she gave him an unknown number of regular not gluten-free crackers, his normal teacher caught her and stopped her. Those who are familiar with celiac, gluten kills the little villi in your intestines that helps you absorb nutrients. So I have a really sick little boy on my hands, who wants to be active but just doesn't feel so hot sometimes. We've had yucky diapers and he's dark under his eyes,I've looked up how long it takes for those villi to heal and it could take week-months.So am I trying to figure out how to feed him extra nutrients in the time being so he doesn't get sick.

And I have to go,he's out of bed again(he's a nightowl)
