Gerry would rather be a jet fighter pilot

Recommended Posts

Thank you for the link, Delene. Jet fighter pilot, eh? I used to be in the Royal Australian Air Force, and I've been in an old Porter plane and a Chinook helicopter, but didn't ever get a ride in a jet fighter. Not that I would have wanted to. I'm not that brave!! But, come to think of it, I was in the old Porter in the middle of a storm, and that was pretty much brown trousers time. And don't get me started on what they did to me on the Chinook!!

Cheers,

Vicki

You are very welcome, Vicki! I bet that was exciting!

Yes, our Gerry would have loved to be a "fly boy". I can just see him walking out on the tarmac, suited up, helmet in hand, Top Gun! I think we have a picture of him in the Gallery somewhere. He's so handsome!

My DH was stationed at Clark in the Phillipines and Whiteman Airforce Base which is about twenty miles from where we live and houses the B2 Spirit Stealth Bomber and B22 Raptor which fly over occasionally along with the occasional F16. It's awesome living so near the base. In Colorado we lived about fifteen miles from Buckley too and the pilot in our neighborhood said he used the roof of our barn as a "target" for practice. He was such a funny guy!

I love airplanes, hate flying commercial, go figure.

Thanks for the link. They must get so tired at these junkets answering the same questions all day. I remember Craig Ferguson encouraging him to try flying a plane. He was surprised when he said he had flown a fighter. That sounds like so much fun! I build and fly remote control plans but would love to fly a real jet someday. That had to be a real rush for him. A lot more fun than a Bounty Hunter for sure!

I'm not surprised that Gerry would want the thrill of being a fighter pilot. He likes his life to move briskly. He would look great in the gear!

How I would LOVE to see him in a movie role about a "fighter pilot." Who knows, maybe

something will come up! I can imagine the "rush" being in one of those planes, but I

also know I would be very, very SICK!
