Hi. I am new to this forum. Let me introduce myself. My name is Lisa and I live in Miami, Florida...which is just as hot (and humid) as Vegas. Oy...I would have loved to have attended the convention, but couldn't this year. It wasn't meant to be. Perhaps next year. I just heard the voice message from Mr. Butler, which was incredibly sweet and generous, and for an excellent cause! It looks like everyone had an awesome time! Anyways, I hope everyone has a great evening and look forward to chatting with you.

That is such an amazing message. I love that he takes the time to call and lets us know that he is proud of what we do and how much all you girls put into putting on the convention. He is just too wonderful.

I could listen to that voice forever... :pointy:

I believe we should be very proud and grateful to be able to help those truely in need and know through Gerry we are doing great things for others! :yay:

Through the love of Gerry...anything is possible! :wuv:

O.K., I am literally crying. How sweet was that? He is just amazing and generous.I am proud to be a fan of this man. I want to say yes we all love Gerry. Of course we do. How could we not? I love all the GALs and Pals too. I have bonded with so many of you. I think of you. I pray for you. I read your posts and I am mesmerized by some of the things that people say.
This is a wonderful place. Especially in my case being unable to see and do some of the things others do like go to the conventions, premieres, T.V. shows where he is a guest and even watch movies in a theater.
I would like to be able to do all those things, but I love the life I have.
You ladies make me feel every bit as valued as someone you get to see at the conventions and it makes my heart swell with love for you all.
Through our mutual love for Gerry. I have become fans of many of you as well.
There are so many talented ladies here, writers, singers, video makers, artists of every kind.
The staff is so generous and kind with me.
So a long with the Thanks I give Gerry for just being Gerry. I thank all of you for your hard work and dedication. Especially the charities.
Also how you make sure we fans at home are included with the virtual con. This is so precious of you.
I am truly blessed to be able to be a part of this community.
I love you all bunches and bunches.
Forgive me this has made me quite emotional.
I'll shut up for now. I am sure I probably got off topic.

I had said in the recent past that I probably wouldn't be able to make it to the convention until 2012, BUT, after reading about all the wonderful fun everyone has, I think me and my twin sister will definitely go next year to the convention. Even if it means shortening our scotland trip(we will probably cut out england, just hit scotland and ireland). In the short time I've been a member of this wonderful site/forum, I've "met" some wonderful gals. So count me in for next year! WOOHOO!

Re Scott Mills he is a Radio 1 DJ who had Gerry on his show and kind of made fun of things that happen at Gals Conventions. Whether G was embarrassed or not - it's understandable cause how many people have conventions in their name - and went along with the joke making - it's a guy thing nothing more Posted Image

His actions this year with everything that he is providing and the monies he is matching just goes to show he is proud of his fans and what Gals stands for.

Simply FANTASTIC! How cool is that.....such a high profile, busy man and yet so generous and humble. To call back 3 times to continue the conversation is committment to finish what he starts. And what a great acknowledgement to the GBGals and its members, this really has cemented my loyalty to the GBGals, it's the only site I joined and the last.

Will it be told how much the convention made for TST?

I'd love to know, watching the auction was fun but hard

to keep track of, especially after RENO started losing

the kilt, haha.

I always love to be a part of it and hope someday

to actually be able to attend the convention.

I can still feel the excitement we Virtual Con GALS and PALS felt listening to that voice and all the fun and joy we had sharing with the people at the LV Convention. We laughed, cheered and teared up as though we were there sitting with you.

That's the very point of working so hard to webcast! You ARE sitting there with us!! :kisswink:

Shirsan, we're still collecting funds from ebay, silent auctions, etc. I assure you, when a final tally has been determined, we'll be screaming from the rooftops and you won't miss it!!! ;)

i also loved the transcript, when it first played, it scared me cause his voice is deep and he pretty much didnt get to sleep so i am thankful that he was kind enough to do that and i hope he is getting enough sleep when he did this. ;)

This call was awesome! I keep telling everyone I know about Gerry matching the funds, whether they know who he is or not! LOL! And thanks to Fergie for defending me when I didn't scroll down the transcript when it was played in Vegas... I had my specific orders from Songbird! ;)

Awwwwwweeee, this makes my heart go all a flutter. So wonderful to have a man care about his fans and what we do. How sweet he is and I am proud to be a fan and proud of all of you GALS! I have made so many friends via Gerry. It is an amazing "Gerry World" we live in. Hugs to you all.

Where are they? Who do I need to defend you from as well?! You did PAIRFECT, Mel. In fact, I thought that perhaps Dayna had told you, too, not to scroll down and "give away" the surprise of Gerry matching funds because you so effortlessly followed through as if you KNEW there was going to be a great bang at the end. :lol:

Happy Birthday GALS! so happy to visit after awhile of not being here. i must say....this site IS very inspirational to say the least! SO many wonderul outreaches spring out of this cyber-spot! As a fan of gerry's....i want to just say 'thanks' for all the creative hard work to organize & rally like-minded people together. and, gerard butler is SO worth your efforts of kindness done on his behalf for the good of others.....PLUS!it loOks like FUN just to be here! (it was totaly awesome & cool to actually 'hear' gerry address the GALS convention and it was truly thoughtful of you to post in text right away)! perhaps, hope i'll join you folks next year? until then....have wonderful 4th July weekend :wave:

Hey Anybody,

I tried to copy the transcript for my teacher to see and read about our Gerry that he thanked us for his convention and that we raised the money for a charity and it won't print out! I wanted my teacher to get to read how wonderful our Gerry is and how he took time out from Scotland to tell us how proud he is and how he is matching funds raised. As the statue raised a wee bit of money, I want my teacher and my friends that helped soooo much to make 'Gerry' a reality to get to read how grateful Gerry is for what the GALS did. How can I get a copy to take to school when I go back on the 24th?
