I was wondering what kind of musical score they were going to do for this picture. I thought of a wonderul "African" themed song that might fit in with the film by Toto called "Africa". It would be nice to see a scene where he's riding down the highway on his bike. It's one of my all time favorites. I think it's very effective to put in pop songs in movies.

I'm sure there will be a score perhaps written as it was in LAC perhaps. Can use this thread to discuss that topic in the future if necessary.

But even the lyrics to this song sort of reflect Sam's life changing from who he was in the past to his desire to fight for the children in Sudan.

Just a thought.

I hear the drums echoing tonight

But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation

She's coming in 12:30 flight

The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation

I stopped an old man along the way,

Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies

He turned to me as if to say, Hurry boy, It's waiting there for you

CHORUS:

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you

There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do

I bless the rains down in Africa

Gonna take some time to do the things we never have

The wild dogs cry out in the night

As they grow restless longing for some solitary company

I know that I must do what's right

As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti

I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become

CHORUS

(Instrumental break)

Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you

There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do

I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa

I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa

I bless the rains down in Africa

Gonna take some time to do the things we never have

Considering the transformation of Sam from a drug dealer/bad dude to ..the Machine Gun Preachr. This song comes to mind.

"Two Coats"

Hi Gals,

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but here is a song that has been shortlisted to feature in MGP. It's called 'One Man's War' by the Aaron Hendra Project who travelled to the Sudan to record with 300 children.

Thank you Robyn, and Delene.... I think they will both work well with the movie, I especially like "One Mans War" maybe because the children themselves have a part in it! 300 of them! :)
