Posting for Susan~Sporran:

GALS, WELCOME to the 4th Floor of the Support Center's 3rd Highrise!

Just sixty-five more floors to go to reach 69 again!

GALS do you find yourselves enamored over a pale shade of Green? Or, perhaps, do you go weak in the knees over a favorite hue of Blue? Or, maybe a Golden aura lights your fire? But possibly, it's a tone of Grey that vibrantly appeals to your GALS sensibilities? Well, every GAL has her own distinct well-loved color(s), because, honestly, they all look so very good on Gerry. So! Why not enjoy them all!

AND NOW.... the original thread.

Being the compassionate person that I am, I can recognize a cry for help when I see one. Having said that, I have decided to start a new support group for those of us with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome - from now on, all with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome will be known as GALS.

This group is open to all GALS and non-GALS alike who believe they are in serious need of support and guidance as they realize how serious their addiction has become. This is not a support group which advocates traditional intervention, as the failure rate would be astronomical, but merely a group whom you can turn to who share in your addictions or withdrawals, whichever the case may be. Some of the signs that you have GALS include, but are not limited to:

1. You buy every magazine on the rack looking for photos or articles of Gerry and start to get the jitters when there has been no sign of him for weeks.

2. You drive 500 miles to see a Gerry movie.

3. Your significant other (or just someone you're dating) gives you stark reminders they are SOOOO NOT Gerry.

4. Co-workers, friends and/or family start teasing you for your addiction people can be so cruel...

5. You become addicted to caffeine because you can't pull yourself away from GALS...."'cause just MAYBE he'll be on Chat tonight."

6. You obsess with much glee, "Gerry has a computer...and he knows how to use it!!!!"

7. You find yourself asking aloud, "Did he REALLY mean what he said about the 3:00 a.m. thing and does he REALLY wear a size 11 shoe?" Then smile broadly.

8. You catch yourself speaking in a Scottish accent for no apparent reason.

9. You change the decor in your bathroom to accommodate your new yellow towels.

10. The "G-Spot" takes on a whole new meaning.

11. You spend days wondering why a Scot would be named "Andre."

12. You buy "Mrs. Brown" just for the skinny-dipping scene and play that one scene in slow mo and super slow mo, over and over and over again. (Okay, so maybe that was just me.) :D

13. You have a picture of Gerry in your wallet, and refer to him as "your man, Gerry."

14. You spend your hard-earned cash assigned for other "non-essential" items (phone bill, power bill, etc.) on essential Gerry related items.

15. You go shopping for your "real-life" man and finding yourself thinking, "OMG!!! Gerry would look so :censored: hot in that!!!"

16. You have to buy a new hard drive to accommodate all your pics and videos of Gerry.

17. You search through a couple hundred $5.50 DVDs at Wal-Mart because an employee said Dracula 2K might be there.

18. You can't possibly walk past Starbucks without dreaming that maybe... *sighs*

19. You refer to the Gerry wallpaper on your computer as your "happy place."

20. While looking up at the clouds you SWEAR there's a cloud in the shape of a "G"...funny thing is, the GAL next to you sees the same thing!!!

21. Multiples (Gerrygasms) are an every day occurrence!!!

This list will continue to grow as you tell me your addictions...

Below is a very simple 10-step program to help foster our addiction.

1. You must admit you have GALS. This is so important to further your addiction. Yes, this support group wants to nourish your addiction, not starve it. We are here for you.

2. Come to believe the Great and Powerful Gerry is greater than ourselves and only our visions and/or fantasies can keep us addicted. To truly become addicted, however, one must at one time in ones life made the Gerry Mecca Journey (GMJ) and meet him in person.

3. Make a decision to turn our will and lives over to our addiction to Gerry.

4. Make a searching and fearless immoral inventory of our fantasies of Gerry.

5. Lend your support to those who have GALS, but are yet unable to admit it.

6. Watch every movie (more than once) in which Gerry has a role. To be truly addicted, you must develop a love of all Gerry genres (yes, this includes "Tale of the Mummy" and "Dracula 2000".

7. Frequently quote lines from Gerry films. Memorize them, use them, replace old phrases with new Gerry lines. This will prove to all your serious commitment to your addiction.

8. Know Gerry's biography better than you know your own. True GALS will know all Gerry's trivia. Study it, soak it in, become one with Gerry's biography.

9. Give generously (money folks) to the website which has fostered your addictions and allowed your fantasies to take flight.

10. Convert all who are convertible to this syndrome. This is the true mark of GALS. Do not judge - for your next recruit may be your boss!

As this is a relatively new Syndrome, the above guidelines are subject to editing, amending or scrapping all together as we GALS deem necessary.

The first step to true addiction is to admit you have GALS!! I will begin the group.

"My name is Dr. Em and I have GALS."

All are welcome to join in our group. GALS, we must not suffer in silence!!! We now have a voice!!! Let it be heard!

*Disclaimer: We GALS appreciate not only Gerry's royal hotness for which there is no rival, we indeed, also recognize his abundance of talent, soul, passion, spirit, sense of style and humor, sincerity...can I stop now? Our addictions are all-encompassing and we embrace Gerry EVERY WHICH WAY WE CAN!!!*

To Cleobethra for our "Warning Label."

Stopping by for a bit:

Thankyou Melodie.I need'em.Hugs and prayers.

Found out today that legal aide can't help me(they don't handle civil cases) but she told me what my options are.,so I'm trying to find out who can and how much is it going to cost me.

And your nephew is adorable Melodie.

Oh Carter looks so big (and so adorable). How is he doing Melodie? Thank you for sharing his picture. I'm adding it to my prayer journal so when I pray for him I can look at him.

Andrea, that sucks that legal aide won't help you. I'm praying that this all works out ...

hugs,

Sue

Thank you, Sue. He's doing well, thankfully. Having fewer sezuires and his medication seems to be working. Right now we're just taking it day by day but things are stable now, so hoping things ease up a little, but it's not as easy when it comes to crunch.

Andrea, sorry to hear about the rough stuff with legal aide. Keeping you in my thoughts still and hoping it turns out better. (((Hugs)))

 everyone! I hope you're all having a good day! After Erin gets off work this evening, we're headed down to the coast for the weekend! :yay: We're going to stay at our favorite inn on Aransas Bay in the little sleepy town of Rockport, Texas. It's not even on the main highway. You have to know where it is and go there on purpose! No one just passes through Rockport on the way somewhere else! It has some of the best seafood this side of Galveston! Yum! We'll also drive over to Corpus Christi which isn't far away to go to the Padre Island National Seashore too. I hope we don't see tar and crap on the beach from the gushing offshore well. I wish we could stay more than just two nights, but Erin has to work on Monday.

Suzie-your idea of being bad is putting extra chocolate sauce on your ice cream!

Melodie-your nephew is a cutie-pie!

Andrea-

I'm still trying to find friends on Twitter. My user name is irishoperaghost. Please follow me if you Tweet. :D

 everyone! We're back home from our weekend trip to the coast. It was nice to get away, but the weekend could have been better. We were disappointed in the food at 2 of our favorite places. We had really been looking forward to eating there again and the food and service just weren't up to their usual standards. Then, Saturday afternoon Good Sport started feeling sick...stomach bug! :bleh: so instead of going to Padre Island seashore, we took him back to the motel in Rockport and Erin and I went to the little city beach there while he spent the rest of the day in bed! He didn't feel like going to dinner, so Erin and I walked across the street to another of our favorite restaurants. At least the food and service were good. Bill feels better today, in time to come home! I knew he was sick when he didn't feel like going to the beach to surf fish!

Awww, Elissa, I'm sorry you haven't really had a great weekend. Bill being sick really sucks. Tell him I sent hugs. (Whaddaya mean I'm not bad? I could be once I figure out how!) LOL!!

We drove up to Bastrop to visit with my brother Robert. He is having a followup with his liver specialist in Houston on Wednesday. It looks like they will wait six months before putting him on a transplant list after all. It was Sooo good to see him and just give him lots of hugs!!

Then last night I got a very sad call from my stepson, David. His brother and only sibling (who is not close to the family) has been found to have stomach cancer. David is understandably upset. He lost his mother and father to cancer, now his brother has it too. I feel so bad for him and for Danny who is only 42. Not a happy situation at all.

Hope everyone had a better few days than Elissa and Me! Hugs to all who need them and even for those who don't - after all, we all need hugs, right?

Posted Image to you Suzie and you Elissa and anyone else who wants one.

This is going to be a rather rough week for me. Next Sunday will mark the one year anniversary since my hubby went to be with the Lord and I'm already starting to feel so sad....I don't know what I expected a year into the grieving process but I guess I hoped to be stronger than I am. I lost it at church today and afterwards just sat and cried with my Pastor's wife. The pain still feels so raw....oh well....I'm sorry. I don't want to be a downer. My Bryan is planning on coming up with the boys this Thursday and staying through the weekend. He wants to keep mom busy. It won't take away the pain but it will help I'm sure.

Suzie, I'm so sorry to hear about your step son Danny. I will pray for him and for David.

Elissa, I'm so glad that Bill is feeling better but that sucks that your get away wasn't all you expected.

My Bonnie and Butler are certainly keeping me busy....why do puppies always want to play right at your feet? Around my ankles look like they've been through a war!

Posted Image

Speaking of which...I left them outside for a little while. I guess I had better go see what kind of trouble they are getting into.

love and hugs,

Sue

I am so sorry so many of you are having difficulties in your lives and within your families.I'll be praying for you.I really sincerely will.

Elissa,my now ex and I experienced something similiar on our alone trip to the Bahamas while I was expecting my younget.( I was 6 mons preggers).I personally blame the water(he drank out of the tap,i didn't,i had a feeling I shouldn't) but it could've been something he ate.He ended up sick and in bed for over 24 hrs sick at his stomach and throwing up.I walked all over our hotel and an Nassau hunting down ginger ale and chamomile tea got him.he was nearly as good as new the next day.But he was in misery being confined to his bed with the ocean outside the window.

Oh my, my Gal friends. So many things to pray about, think over, and keep in my heart. I have you all very close to me as these days go along. Keep healthy, keep well, and keep you heads up.....it makes it easier to pray (it really does seem to...for me at least). All my love to you all and hugs to those who need them.

Melodie, your nephew is adorable. If you are like me, he is the light of your life. What a joy to have him there.

Bonnie and Butler! What two happy little ragg mopps! Sue, I am so glad you have these to delights with you, now and always. You have my love and prayers, this week and always.

Suzie, I am so sorry that the hits just keep on coming! I am very happy though that you had time to spend with your brother and you were able to give him that big hug. May this sudden change in your step-son's life work to the power of good for him....and may his brother be clear-eyed and supported as he faces this too.

Elissa! Nothing like getting your weekend spoiled by a tummy bug! Dang the thing and dang it in general. There is nothing for it --- you just have to have another weekend away to have a better one! Plan it soon and let us know!

Andrea, you continue to be in my heart. I believe this situation will be worked out--- even if you must walk through the storm first. Do you know that song from Carrousel? It is amazing and so true.

Ok, lady bugs.....I'm outa here. Tomorrow is the first day of school. 32 years this year. I have a feeling it might just be a very very long year (internal district issues, bosses etc....) however, the kids never fail to take the stuffings right out of you and crack you up on a daily basis. They are the reason I keep at it.

Love to all. So nice to drop by the Center and find it neat, tidy, full of friends, and NO CRICKETS!!! (I really hate those nasty things!)

Love you all. Jill

Just got back from picking the animals up from the vet where they were boarded. Everyone seems ok and glad to be home. Their boarding bill was almost as much as our hotel on the bay! :faint:

Suzie, I'm sorry to hear about Danny. I'll be praying for him. I'm sure this will all be hard on David too.

Sue- :hugs:

Jill, good luck with the start of school.

Cassie! Good to see you!

Andrea, nothing like seeing the waterfront view from your sickbed! Kinda takes the charm out of it for sure!

Andi, when I'm feeling down, I download some of Gerry's interviews like Leno or one of Bonnie's Tribute interviews. I just look at that face and listen to that voice and I'm in MY happy place. Gerry is GREAT therapy!!

When my children aren't home and their father is upsetting me(like he is this morning) I used to watch 300 lol Not for the abs but for all the butt kicking action. Gets me ready for battle.

I found out this morning that my ex has tricked yet another woman into co-signing for a new house that was just built or is having it built solely in her name.So my kids will be moving.I found out from my 4 yr old. I am tying to pray for him instead of chewing him out. It's becoming hard.Really, really hard.

Oh Andrea, what a snake he is.

Make sure that you let the bank or mortgage company that is after you for the mortgage on the last house is aware of this. It could really help your case I would think (or hope).

When you say you're kids are moving...what do you mean? The live with you most of the time don't they?

hugs,

Sue
