Burma, my Gerry addiction has been with me since Dec, 2004 when I saw POTO and drooled in my popcorn in all of Gerry's scenes as the Phantom. As I've said many times, if there's a cure for my addiction, I don't want it! :p

Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking of GB at this very moment! I have to say, when I need a Gerry fix, POTO is my favorite. He OWNS that film. Have you ever seen a man more photogenic?? I now own every film he's ever appeared in, but I sure wish I could find a DVD of Lucy Sullivan that would play in the US. Any hints?

Hugs,

Burma

Check with Stuart. He sets up all the movies. He tell you if you can actually get a copy. I never found one. And, yes, I think of GB everyday!

 everyone! I ended up working today after all, but only for 8hrs. Stopped at the grocery store on the way home and picked up the candy for tomorrow. We always have lots of Trick or Treaters, so I made sure we'll have enough candy. Of course, I made sure to buy stuff we like in case we have a lot left over. ;)

So glad to see people back in and about the Center!!!!

HELLO and HAPPY HALLOWEEN, ladies one and all!

Elissa, that kittie cat is the cutest! BUT

The little Hiccup! Andrea -- he is the cutest thing EVER!!! So clever of you with the costume and how amazing of you with the cute cute cute little guy!

I have been up to my eyeballs this month...teaching, teaching as an adjunct prof at a local university (nights), and then I just pulled a run away to go to the Jane Austen Society Annual General Meeting in Portland for this weekend. Not only were there classes and papers, but last night there was a full blown masquerade ball with people in every kind of costume (mostly regency)...but, goths, Henry VIII, ghouls,...you name it. I loved it ..... and knew many of you would too!

However, during one of the speeches (on the desolution of the monasteries/abbeys etc -- the conference was about Northanger Abbey --- the speaker was talking about some of the abbeys being attacked by hordes of vikings (cue really silly picture of very clean vikings that would have been better served by being the old Erik the Red Cigar commercial pictures). I'm sitting there saying to myself -- she should have used the pictures from Beowulf and Grendel when they are arriving to help Hrothgar.....when BOOOOM ,... there is Gerry in full Beowulf gear staring into mid-space to the left :yummy-1:

She says something about the prototypical pagan warrior, Beowulf at the same time I say GERRY.... loud enough for the 3 ladies around me to hear....

and question

and have me write down his name and GALS web address on business cards.

I love it when my idioms get all cross threaded!!!!

Have a wonderful evening ladies, and may his Gerry-ness appear in your most unexpected places! :beo:

Oh Jill, I love it! Sure wish I could have been with you...it sounds like so much fun.

Burma, I don't think any of us here want to do ANYTHING to mess with our Gerry addiction :cunning:

It has been an insane week for me. For those of you who have supported me these past years, through my step daughter's disappearance/murder and my beloved's death I just want to say how much I love you and thank you from the bottom of my heart. Lonnie was finally arrested last Thursday for her murder. I've posted a story here if you wish to read it:

http://www.gerardbut...8entry1453748

I have been kind of spaced out the past few days so I guess I had better try to get back to real life and get some stuff done today....lol.

BTW: My sister in law took me to the movies Saturday to get me away from telephone calls from reporters. We went to see Secretariat. It was WONDERFUL. I feel in love with Big Red all over again! I can't tell you how much this movie is worth seeing.

hugs to all.

love,

Sue

 everyone! We had fewer kids come around for Halloween last night, so we have a ton of candy left over. I guess it being a Sunday night put a damper on it. Of course, Erin and I dressed up anyway. We had an Andrew Lloyd Webber theme this year. :p

 Burma - welcome to the addiction known as Gerry Butler. I've had it since 12/31/04 myself, though admittedly I now have a 2nd addiction (seen in my first avatar). But that was a good thing since Gerry was off the radar for just about the whole summer while I got to follow my other addiction around the country on his first tour. Worked out well. Now what WILL I do if I end up with conflicting addictions feeding me simultaneously? Perhaps I'd call that heavenly!! Now my Adam-addiction is off the radar until he heads to Europe soon for the next leg of his tour and this weekend I get my Gerry fix with the Phantom Redux in L.A. Every year we get to see it in all its big screen glory one more time at a beautiful art-deco theater. I look forward to it all year, and I do the Phantom Pheast that we hold before the screening.

@Andrea - your wee Viking Hiccup looks adorable!

@Elissa - love your Phantom kitty mask, and you and Erin look fabulous in your costumes. My costume this year consisted of a black t-shrit that had happy halloween on the front of it in orange and silver glitter. Oh, and my jack-o-lantern socks!

@Jill - your Beowulf/Gerry moment was priceless! Glad you got to "educate" a few other ladies on the magic of Gerry.

Nothing new on a job front. I'm waiting to hear from a recruiter who was pretty sure he would get me an interview with a company I know. Just waiting for the call. In the meantime I'm trying to make some wise financial investment choices so that when that eventual day comes that I do retire I can do so with enough income to live on.

OH MY SUE!!! Good for the law -- sick'im.....sick creep. I'm just sorry about the reporters, and hey, next Jasna in 2012 is in NY! You'd probably adore it!

Susan, good to know you and the headhunter are following some leads. You are much in my thoughts as these weeks unfold.

Elissa, I love the themed Halloween giving. I on the other hand had my own theme....GO GIANTS!!!!!

Sorry about that.....but this little northern CA girl just had her 1962 dreams come true! (as in I was a second grader that time!)..... love to all the Rangers fans....but goodness it's been a happy week or so! I'd sing you the fight song...but I won't.

I'd still like friends when I come back on line!

Love to you all!

Hi everyone. I've been gone a very long time and am not sure if anyone remembers me at this point, but in the event that someone does, I'll just give you a synopsis of what's happened to me.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) in late '08. I was already on disability for emotional/mental difficulties, and this diagnosis depressed me more deeply than one can imagine. I want to find a part-time job, though ~ something involving animals ~ to get me out of my head and the house.

What has depressed me most, however, is that I lost my precious sister, Ann, a year ago. She had MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome), an uncommon blood cancer also known as "pre-leukemia." She underwent a stem cell transfusion as my brother was her perfect match in that regard; she didn't want her condition to mushroom into leukemia. A year ago at this time she should have been feeling better and able to drive, et al. Instead she was in and out of the oncology ward and then, finally, in the ICU as her immune system could not withstand the newly harvested stem cells. She died right after I kissed her goodbye and left her with my brother-in-law. I miss her more than the English language will allow. She was my rock and my best friend. Now absence has its own zip code.

I am currently living with my folks and my cats. Which reminds me that I also lost Aurora, my beautiful little minx, a day after my last birthday in March. I miss her terribly as well, but I adopted Benji (Benjamin) when he was two months old. Now he's eight months old and, along with Zoey, they are quite a loving duo. My parents' Russian Blue, Frodo, is also a fixture in the house.

I haven't kept up with Gerry, though I've seen him in various previews of different movies. Can anyone recommend one of his latest films to me and I'll rent it?

Thank you for reading my post and God bless all of you. I also apologize profusely to anyone whose toes may have been crushed the last time I was around. I have no excuse. I am sorry.

Finally, Dr. Em sent me a congratulatory note as I've been a member of this forum for five years! I can't believe it's been that long! :)

Love,

Christine

Posted Image Christine. I'm sorry that you are going through so much and I will definitely keep you in my prayers sweetie.

Thanks Marcie and Jill....yes, it's taken a long time and just the thought of going through a trial makes me sick to my stomach ... but this is what Dan'l and I prayed for ... that justice would be done for Danna.

hugs to all my sister GALS.

Susan, I'm still praying that the perfect job falls into your lap my dear~ Doesn't Gerry or Adam need a bookkeeper???

love,

Sue

Ooooh, I loved "Secretariat"! I'm such a horse fiend. I also bought the book, and it's just as wonderful as the movie. I love the way they filmed Big Red's win at the Belmont Stakes...thirty lengths, he resembled Pegasus! It still shocks and thrills me!

Thank you, Mousie!!! I did see the preview for "The Bounty Hunter" but I never got around to seeing it in the theatre. I will dutifully rent all three as soon as possible! And thank you for the familial blessings. We appreciate them most assuredly.

Hello ya'll.Taking a moment to read up on all the posts I've missed while the boys are watching Little Einsteins and eating their supper.

Christine-I wasn't here when you were last probably but welcome back.I hav fibro.too,it can take it's toll on a persons emotional wellbeing as well as their physical self. Hang in there. Sorry for your loss as well.

Elissa-love the costumes

Irish-I'm glad they finally arrested him.

Hope those who are looking for work find the perfect position for you.

Halloween is over but I still live with a viking everyday, the child sits with shield and axe in hand most days.Had a full on fightlast night.battle axe vs foam sword. It was crazy. They've taken to wrestling/fighting...and because they are boys,I just have to sit there an referee it and let them go at it till someone gets mad or almost hurt, then I send them to their corners lol

There is other stuff going on,alot of decisions to pray about regarding future employment, place of residence etc..next year I'll probably have to move in order to get a good job once the boys are in school 98% of the time.decisions,decisions.

Well,ya'll all have a good night! *HUGS*

Thank you so much, Andrea. Yes, it certainly does take a toll on one's emotions in addition to the body.

Christine, welcome back. I was just joining when you were around a couple of years ago -- and I want to send out a big hello!

Great suggestions, Mousie, for Christine to get back into Gerry viewing...I think they are all spectacular choices!

Well, Andrea -- little Vikings have to do what little Vikings have to do, I guess! or as one of the girls in my class said today (with deep sarcasm and utter frustration in her voice)....."BOYS!!!"

and she was talking about the principal when she said it! I laughed up a storm.

Love to everyone....it's been too long since getting together Elissa, Suzie, and my Redding Buddy Sue! I'm starting the Vegas fund on the left overs of the Portland fund.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.

Love, Jill

I finally finished my office. Dan'l and I planned on having built in bookcases built when we first bought the house but never got around to it (lack of funds to be precise) but this year I finally got it done (of course now I'm totally broke...lol).

Beautiful pictures, Sue! Wish I could be there! :)

It's finally getting a little cooler here. Our lows are getting down into the 40s and our highs are in the 70s and 80s. I've put a couple more blankets on the beds and we actually had to turn the heat on once! :p
