This is our GALS Mantra: Sink the Boat -- Ride the Phantom!!! A HUGE THANK YOU to QAZklh for making the graphic for us..." AND NOW.... the original thread. Being the compassionate person that I am, I can recognize a cry for help when I see one. Having said that, I have decided to start a new support group for those of us with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome - from now on, all with Gerry Addicted Lust Syndrome will be known as GALS. This group is open to all GALS and non-GALS alike who believe they are in serious need of support and guidance as they realize how serious their addiction has become. This is not a support group which advocates traditional intervention, as the failure rate would be astronomical, but merely a group whom you can turn to who share in your addictions or withdrawals, whichever the case may be. Some of the signs that you have GALS include, but are not limited to: 1. You buy every magazine on the rack looking for photos or articles of Gerry and start to get the jitters when there has been no sign of him for weeks. 2. You drive 500 miles to see a Gerry movie. 3. Your significant other (or just someone you're dating) gives you stark reminders they are SOOOO NOT Gerry. 4. Co-workers, friends and/or family start teasing you for your addiction people can be so cruel... 5. You become addicted to caffeine because you can't pull yourself away from GALS...."'cause just MAYBE he'll be on Chat tonight." 6. You obsess with much glee, "Gerry has a computer...and he knows how to use it!!!!" 7. You find yourself asking aloud, "Did he REALLY mean what he said about the 3:00 a.m. thing and does he REALLY wear a size 11 shoe?" Then smile broadly. 8. You catch yourself speaking in a Scottish accent for no apparent reason. 9. You change the decor in your bathroom to accommodate your new yellow towels. 10. The "G-Spot" takes on a whole new meaning. 11. You spend days wondering why a Scot would be named "Andre." 12. You buy "Mrs. Brown" just for the skinny-dipping scene and play that one scene in slow mo and super slow mo, over and over and over again. (Okay, so maybe that was just me.) 13. You have a picture of Gerry in your wallet, and refer to him as "your man, Gerry." 14. You spend your hard-earned cash assigned for other "non-essential" items (phone bill, power bill, etc.) on essential Gerry related items. 15. You go shopping for your "real-life" man and finding yourself thinking, "OMG!!! Gerry would look so :censored: hot in that!!!" 16. You have to buy a new hard drive to accommodate all your pics and videos of Gerry. 17. You search through a couple hundred $5.50 DVDs at Wal-Mart because an employee said Dracula 2K might be there. 18. You can't possibly walk past Starbucks without dreaming that maybe... *sighs* 19. You refer to the Gerry wallpaper on your computer as your "happy place." 20. While looking up at the clouds you SWEAR there's a cloud in the shape of a "G"...funny thing is, the GAL next to you sees the same thing!!! 21. Multiples (Gerrygasms) are an every day occurrence!!! This list will continue to grow as you tell me your addictions... Below is a very simple 10-step program to help foster our addiction. 1. You must admit you have GALS. This is so important to further your addiction. Yes, this support group wants to nourish your addiction, not starve it. We are here for you. 2. Come to believe the Great and Powerful Gerry is greater than ourselves and only our visions and/or fantasies can keep us addicted. To truly become addicted, however, one must at one time in ones life made the Gerry Mecca Journey (GMJ) and meet him in person. 3. Make a decision to turn our will and lives over to our addiction to Gerry. 4. Make a searching and fearless immoral inventory of our fantasies of Gerry. 5. Lend your support to those who have GALS, but are yet unable to admit it. 6. Watch every movie (more than once) in which Gerry has a role. To be truly addicted, you must develop a love of all Gerry genres (yes, this includes "Tale of the Mummy" and "Dracula 2000"). 7. Frequently quote lines from Gerry films. Memorize them, use them, replace old phrases with new Gerry lines. This will prove to all your serious commitment to your addiction. 8. Know Gerry's biography better than you know your own. True GALS will know all Gerry's trivia. Study it, soak it in, become one with Gerry's biography. 9. Give generously (money folks) to the website which has fostered your addictions and allowed your fantasies to take flight. 10. Convert all who are convertible to this syndrome. This is the true mark of GALS. Do not judge - for your next recruit may be your boss! As this is a relatively new Syndrome, the above guidelines are subject to editing, amending or scrapping all together as we GALS deem necessary. The first step to true addiction is to admit you have GALS!! I will begin the group. "My name is Dr. Em and I have GALS." All are welcome to join in our group. GALS, we must not suffer in silence!!! We now have a voice!!! Let it be heard! *Disclaimer: We GALS appreciate not only Gerry's royal hotness for which there is no rival, we indeed, also recognize his abundance of talent, soul, passion, spirit, sense of style and humor, sincerity...can I stop now? Our addictions are all-encompassing and we embrace Gerry EVERY WHICH WAY WE CAN!!!* To Cleobethra for our "Warning Label." Susan~Sporran

Terry's Witch
Hi All Yes, I know, it's been a while. That doesn't mean I don't think of you all often. Just that I've been busy with writing and singing. I joined a community choir and we have been practicing and doing gigs around the place. Lots of fun. I've been keeping up to date on all Gerrylicious stuff going on. Unfortunately it takes extra time before any of his movies hit Australia *sigh*. I hope you are all well and huge hugs from moi, Cat

Susan~Sporran
Thank you Irish for starting the new floor! I'm falling down on the job as the Erection Supervisor Admin, aren't I? I'm glad we have such a great team that someone always steps in when I'm asleep at the wheel. Cat - so great to hear from you! I hope that you weren't affected by the horrible floods. Sometimes it feels as if the world is coming apart at the seams. I have been at my new job for 3 weeks now and I absolutely LOVE it! If I could have sat down and created an ideal job for me this would be it. I've usually been a basically happy person where ever I've worked but each place has had its share of issues, until now. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who need them, asked or unasked.

We did alright,it went around us,thankfully. My kids are on the mend and i'm hoping I won't become ill next. Lady Elissa
everyone! I've been working me arse off at the hospital lately! Lots and lots of babies being born! Anyway, I've popped in and out here but haven't taken the time to post. Bad, Elissa! I promise to do better! Two of our little kittens, Phantom and Stanlie are being spayed tomorrow, poor babies. Our feral mama cat has had another litter! There's an adorable little orange tabby out there that I've named Seamus. I have a feeling he's gonna be in the house as soon as he's weaned. I had a very sweet orange tabby back in the 80s. Her name was Jeannie and I was devastated when she died. I always swore I'd get another orange tabby, but never have seen another one for adoption until now. This one was born in my cactus/rock garden, so I guess that means he was meant to be mine. Susan, I'm glad you love your new job! Andrea, hope your boys are feeling better. Hugs to all!
stacey32
Hey all! It's been a bit, thought I'd pop in! Still stuck in Kansas, waiting for things to get done so that I can transfer to Houston. The wheels of the Red Cross turn slowly. I should be settled in Houston by the 1st week of June. Meanwhile, I know this sounds strange, but I am so turned on by the pics of Gerry from the LAC photoshoot. You know the ones where he is all dark and brooding, looks like violence barely contained. I always have loved a badass! I think it's that kinks side of me. Although I realize that Gerry's character was a vengeful sociopath, (is that an oxymoron?)the looks he shoots at the camera is just too hot. When a man gives that kinda look, it either means he's gonna f*^$ you up, or he's gonna sex you up until you break the boxspring!!! It's not often anymore that I can be so moved by just a look. Okay I'm gonna go back to work now.

Andrea~mc
Hello everyone.Wow...what a night. The storms didn't go around us last night but the Lord sure was protecting us.I was in the bathtub(we don't have a basement or storm shelter) with the boys at 11:10-11:30 last night, while wind, hail and debris pelted the house and the window to the bathroom. We had a tornado warning for a long while...then I heard a loud *BOOM!* and something hit the roof...we are surrounded by trees...I started praying "Lord Jesus, please protect us and keep those trees off the house"....once everything was clear, come to find out,one of our trees lost it's top and it landed 2 ft from the roof of the bathroom we were in.Close call.Had a hysterical 4 yr old for awhile...and more storms...so..I'm pert near exhausted today. And I did a bit of gardening too...But...I'm so thankful we are all safe.I hope everyone else is too. The boys are well now mostly, thankfully and thankfully I haven't come down sick. Elissa,we've got wild kitties too.But they need homes...I've 3 black cats,1 gray tabby,1 brown tabby and a tortoise shell calico with a white tip on her tail.I need oh about 5 of them homes lol 2 of the black ones are from her first litter(the Mama is a black cat) and the others are from the latest, the calico will have to stay here because she's crazy. Can't be tamed.I've tried, she let me pet her belly but she took off the minute I let her go and runs everytime you get near. gerard's galway girl
Oh no! I'm glad everyone is okay and that the storm didn't do too much damage. We had bad storms here as well. Lightning struck one of the trees and brought it down over the powerline. It sparked fire but thankfully couldn't light because of all the rain. The fire department had to be called, they came with full sirens and my three youngest(all boys) thought it was just the most fascinating thing they'd ever seen. I'm the one who wanted to crawl under a bed and hide. Is it sad to say that I already miss winter?
auntm
Oh goodness! I am so glad to hear that you all passed through this night safe and protected. May all of be so. Much love to all. Jill
Lady Elissa
I pray that all who are in the path of those storms will stay safe! Here in south Texas, we're in the middle of a really bad drought. Some parts of the state are having a big problem with wildfires right now, so I'd like to have some of that rain, without the tornados, of course. Andrea, we've tried multiple times to catch that mama cat to have her spayed, but we've never been able to, even with a humane trap baited with food. Now she's nursing kittens, but we will try again after they're weaned. Of the current litter, there are 3 that we'd like to find homes for. A friend of mine from work told me that she took a feral kitten to the animal shelter and they wouldn't take it. They told her not to bring any more and to either keep that one, or let it go, that the feral cats weren't doing any harm. I guess at least they do perform a service. Since we've had all these cats around we haven't had any trouble with mice! Hugs to all!
Forbes girl
Elissa...I saw a map today showing all of the fires in Texas. I couldn't believe it. That, with the tornadoes all over makes this a very dangerous Spring all around. I hope everyone here stays safe. Andrea....That was too close for comfort. Scary for your youngest boy I'll bet!! Toni...Don't you just love boys! Everything is COOL with them. ~HUGS~ Kathy

Texas gramma
Sweet Betts! It's wonderful to see you here. We miss you very much. Please don't be a stranger! My brother, Rick, and I are flying to Houston tomorrow. My wonderful niece works for a car dealer there and has made arrangements for me to get a lease on a 2012 Volvo S60 at her employee cost. It is a very cute car and Rick says it just looks like me! I'm hauling my brother with me to pick it up because there is no power on earth that could force me to drive an unfamiliar car on Houston freeways to get it home! Rick is being very indulgent to his chicken sister! The last time I bought new was in 1968 and it's been a string of used cars since then. But this deal was just too good to pass up! On a sad note note, my step-son Danny who has terminal cancer is now in his last days. It's so very sad as Dan is only 47 and had so much life still ahead of him. We've never been really close but he is dear to me. His brother, my David, moved Danny into his home to care for him in his last few months and the stress of the situation has been very difficult on him and his family. Dan's heart is now failing so we know it won't be long. If you could remember them all in your prayers, it would be wonderful. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend! ladyfran
Oh suz, I'm so sorry to hear about Danny. I'll be adding him in my prayers my friend. Just wanted to stop in and check on my Galfriends for a minute! Betts! It's so good to see you Sweetie. It's been a long time but I see you have been through a lot ......that RL does seem to interrupt us to the point of having to take some time away from Gals... Hope to see more of you now! Went to the specialist the other day and I really think he might help me. Although I won't have any new news til after the next couple of weeks as he has ordered more tests and you know what that means......waiting! I just hope in the end it will be worth the wait! Once again I want to thank you all for your kindness and condolences during these dark days in my life. I am taking it one day at a time. Bless you all and hold your loved ones as close as you possibly can! :hugs:Frannie
GBPhanatic
Just thought I'd stop in to wish everyone a Happy Earth Day! I was reading about all the storms affecting everyone. I live in the heart of tornado ally but I'm one of those "girls" who's mother had to jerk her downstairs to the basement! I have always been fascinated with them and love to "chase"! Some say I'm crazy but there is something so exhilarating about seeing that monster and defying it! Guess that's my little dance with the devil I suppose. I'm most frightened of taking cover! I think I feel more in control if I'm watching the thing and can just get out of it's way! But I hate lightening! For all of you dear animal loving ladies with the feral kitties, what I do is take a "HavaHeart" trap, load it with a little canned food and trap the mommas. Then off they go to the vet for spaying. It also works for the guy cats too! It's low cost or free in some vets. If you don't have a trap, call most animals shelters and they'll be happy to loan you one to borrow. You know me! I'm a big advocate of spay and neuter! Best time to catch her is when her last litter is eating solid and you can get her before she gets knocked up again! LOL! So I'm glad everyone seems to be doing well. Sorry to hear about the illnesses, etc. Nice car, Suzie! I've driven my Jeep now eight years! Longest I've ever had a car because I ususally lease! But I've got my eye on the Lincoln Hybrid one of these days. Frannie, so glad to see you here! Your strength of spirit never ceases to amaze me! Everybody, hug a tree today and Happy Easter to all!
