Job Front Update 5/10

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I thought I'd start a new thread about my job endeavor :) While I have no news there yet I have applied for some now I wait fun fun not!!

I would like to share a beautiful memory with you all. Today I attended my sis in law's college graduation and while there I couldn't help but remember my own.

I graduated with a B.S. in May 2004. I had a professor whose classes I loved because he had such passion for what he was teaching. When graduation came in May he was given an outstanding teaching award. As I crossed the stage that day he met me with a hug and "you finally made it". It was a special moment one I'll never forget.

Forgive me if I've told this before. It's amazing how unexpected moments happen and you never forget them.

:hugs:

Thanks for sharing, April, that IS a great memory!

Several years ago at one of the summer art shows I always participated in here in the Colorado mountains, an art professor from France spent some time closely examining my jewelry very quietly. Finally, before he left my booth, he told me that my jewelry was very artistic, well executed and beautiful. It is such a great memory for me and something that has meant more to me than the sale of a piece ever could. It was lovely. And those are the things we live for, aren't they?

Hugs to you!

Leslie

I have one. When Kaylani, my sweet little munchkin was 9 months old we went to Target. The one we go to, right as you walk in the door there is a little deli eatery on the right. We stopped to eat before shopping. She was in such a good mood and she was showing off for the people at the table next to us. She was cooing and giggling and squeeling and having a great time. And I remember watching the people coming in the front door and how everyone was looking up at my daughter and smiling as they walked in. She was actually charming these random people enough to make them smile. I thought, wow, that is so amazing. These people are getting a moment of happiness, even if it is only for a second, because of my baby. I saw God in Kaylani that day. And that is why I KNOW that no matter what may happen, he loves me, because he gave me her. And I think this is a great thread.

Also, just finished Dear Frankie. Liked it, but I wanted more of an ending. I'm not sure what, but I felt there should have been more.

Leslie - Absolutely :) Thanks for sharing :)

Kaylanis - I love children. I was just in Walmart the other day and a baby would look at me and give me the biggest almost toothless grin ever. She was precious and you couldn't help but smile back. Thanks for sharing.

Next??

Great thread, Ape!

Wonderful memories, ladies. Leslie I can vouch for your artwork since I have a few pieces. Every time I wear something you've made, all kinds of random people remark on how beautiful the work is.

Kady, children are such blessings to us. I was only able to have one, a son, but he is the light of my life.

On Mother's Day, I have a bittersweet but beautiful memory to share. My mother had a little male Yorkshire terrier she called (of all things) Dickie Boy. That dog adored her and she took him everywhere. I always wondered if he wasn't part of the reason they brought her home to die. After the end finally came, her little dog sat on the back of the sofa for days, looking out the front picture window, waiting for her to come home. She was his mommy, too, and I think his heart was broken permanently. The unconditional love of our pets is another great gift to us.

Hugs,

Buff

I really wanted another child, but now with this gastroparesis it's probably not an option. I am heartbroken but at least I have Kaylani. She threw up again today and I called the on call nurse at the pediatrician's office and told her what was going on. She's been throwing up off and on the last 2 1/2 months. The docs keep saying she had a stomach bug but I know its something else. But I've never heard of a virus lasting for two months, or of one going away and coming back days later. Nurse said it could be acid reflux and lactose intolerance. I'm losing my patience with these people. My baby is sick. I'm taking her to he Pediatrician tomorrow. I'm worried about her. Hopefully it won't be anything serious.

Sorry. I know that's off subject, but it just happened and I'm a freaking out a little.

UPDATE

Doc says Kaylani may have reflux. Her exam was fine, ears, nose, throat, height, weight, and stomach sounds all good. He also mentioned cyclic vomiting which is like a period of weak gag reflex following an illness or something. He says there isn't much known about it. He gave her some medicine for reflux and said if she is still sick in two weeks he will probably want to go ahead and send her to a specialist. She is handling it like a champ though. I'm so proud of her.

Yay April! I'm glad they're getting new directors. Erase all that irrational prejudice they had against you! I have a good feeling about this one. :)
