SandyW
Gerry is going to be on The Graham Norton Show on BBC America on Jan 7. It was advertised yesterday during Doctor Who. Karen Gillian will also be on (Amy Pond on Doctor Who). I looked it up on the internet today, and it says Jan 6 on BBC. But, I think because of the time difference, for BBC America, that makes the date Jan 7.
shirsan
I tried to post this yesterday, but didn't succeed. It said the 7th on the Doctor Who show. Love him absolutely, Sandy
Texas gramma
BBC America usually broadcasts the Norton show one week after the British presentation, but it looks like they are changing the broadcast schedules by showing the BBCA presentations one day after the British one. I'm not going to complain! Suzie
sofietje
I will watch it on 6th since I'm in Europe. I will post hjow it was so you know when it aires. I have already loads of Graham Norton shows and it will lots of fun. Graham really makes a funny show. I just hope he doesn't ask the same question as all th others: "So you trained to be a lawyer and how did you became an actor". I have heard this one in every Gerry interview since 2005. Journalists don't really have a lot of imagination regarding questions. They should ask us for the questions, I think that we have some original ones

SandyW
I'm hoping he talks about the wave holddown incident. It always very interesting to hear about things from his perspective. And, this one, there are definitey some details only he really knows. Also, to see his attitude toward life right now. (My brother-in-law was shot at 3 times when someone tried to rob him. He went around hugging everyone for weeks afterwards.)
MyObsession
Hi Gals!! Thanks for posting about the Graham Norton interview. This is the first I am reading about it and definitely don't want to miss it! Does anyone know what time it is scheduled to air in the U.S. (East Coast)? Also, channel number would be most helpful, too!! Happy Holidays to All, Kathy (GeorgieGirl)
SandyW
Hi Kathy, Time on East Coast will be: 10pm - 11pm (on Sat night, 1/7) As far as what channel, it will depend on how you receive your TV channels. (Direct TV ,Brighthouse ,Verizon, or others: depending on your area). Just look for BBCAM or BBC America. I doubt it will help much because you live in a totally different area, but for me in Tampa, FL, I have Brighthouse, and BBCAM is on Channel 123. BBCHD is the High Definition version on 1278. shirsan
I have Time Warner Cable in NC and the channel is 327. Why don't they make the channels the same everywhere. It is even different from here to Myrtle Beach, SC. It is all Time Warner Cable. Can't wait. Love him absolutely, Sandy

I have seen so many interviews with Gerry and it's always the same old questions ... Gerry must get so fed up with this. I would love to see him on 'Inside The Actor's Studio'. In my opinion, I think that James Lipton is one of the best interviewers around. I recommend watching 'Inside The Actor's Studio'; they have fantastic guests - you might find it on Youtube. terezoulini
Tonight I was lucky enough to attend the recording of the Graham Norton Show. Gerry came right after the red carpet event for the special screening of the film. He was wearing the same clothes but let me just say that the photos I have seen so far from the screening do not do justice to the real thing. Both his clothes and himself looked 100 times better. In fact Gerry looked better tonight than he has in many months. I dare say even better than in Toronto. He has put on a little weight in all the right places and the fresh sea air has done wonders for him. He was beaming with health and for those who missed the thighs let me just say, the thighs are back! The hair is still long but the beard was under control. He said he is still not done with Mavericks so I guess those who love the current hair will enjoy them for a while longer. Those of us who prefer him with shorter hair, hope is not lost, we just have to wait for his current filming to end. I don't want to give too much away until people have had a chance to watch it on TV or the internet (on Friday in the UK and Saturday in the US). The filmimg lasted for a full two hours so unfortunately this means that some stuff will not make it to the actual show, we'll see. Once we have seen the show, I will feel you in on the bits that didn't make it. He talks in detail about the surfing accident. It was as bad as we thought it was and the papers made it to be. He actually becomes emotional while talking about it. It was a close call and we have to thank God for getting him out of this hairy situation. He said he was hoping to be back tomorrow to catch the really big waves. Of course they are not allowing him to go back there but I guess he wants to at least see those Mavericks! It wasn't clear if he would actually manage to leave tomorrow though. He discusses kilts, mentions the incidents from his sister's and brother's wedding and forgets that he actually premiered LAC in Glasgow in a kilt. Good thing Moira and I reminded him. It was hilarious, I hope it makes it to the final show. There was talk about his body and Gerry thought Graham would show the Barbados photos. He doesn't but Gerry really seemed terrified of them, I got the impression that they seriously bothered him, silly man. I shouted that those photos were lovely and he made fun of my (sort of) English accent. If it doesn't make it to the final cut, I will give you a description. They asked him about the convention and he seemed a little embarrassed to talk about it in the sense that he is too humble to deal with a convention in his name. Moira was asked about it and she handled it lovely. Moira was the other star of the show, I hope we get to see her bits, I will report more if we don't but I don't want to spoil it right now. All I can say is that Gerry compained because Moira doesn't send him postcards! :-) They did remember to ask him about Coriolanus, not as much as they should have, but still they were encouraging about people going to see it. The only sad bit was that Gerry did not sing with Noel Gallagher alhtough Graham and Gerry mentioned that Gerry loves Wonderwall and sang it at his birthday party. There was talk about when he was drinking and smashing wine glasses on his head and trying to impress the ladies. Having said all these anecdotes, he really wanted to stress that these days are in the past and underlined the fact that he was drinking water when everyone else there (the other guests) were drinling beer. The cutest thing was when Gerry was not answering questions. He was adorable like during the Howard Stern interview. A big, adorable boy, fidgeting and rotating his foot and that sort of stuff. Still, he is multitasked and was paying attention to what the others were saying and had a few funny comments here and there. I will write more once we know what made it to the final show. Rendita
Thanks Theresa. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your story. Hopefully, the most important parts make it to the actual show that airs. You definitely miss a lot of the fun when you're not there live. framolamdu
I forgot about the postcard bit it was a great recording and like Theresa pointed out he did not make light or joke about the accident and it's obvious it's affected him. The funniest bit for me was him forgetting he had worn a kilt on red carpet. I really hope they keep it in because his realisation when Theresa and I jogged his memory was classic. I'm sure it was at that stage he makes a funny comment about us knowing better than him. He always jokes "did you not move to US" He did look horrified at the thought of Graham showing the Barbados pic. When they showed that gorgeous pic of him coming out the water in black shorts I think Graham asked where it was taken or when was that, Gerry didn't seem to know and looked our way and I said Hawaii. From Graham's expression and Gerry just laughing I quickly said "I wasn't there honest" - come on Gerry most of your fans because the pics are so great know when and where Graham did bring up the convention when he was asking all his guests about fans and turned to me to ask my name and a question. It was very funny and I only wish I had the chance to have elaborated the good things about it but Graham changed the subject. It will be very difficult for the editors to know what to cut out with it being a group interview opposed to individual. I just hope they keep everything related to the accident. shirsan
I hope so too, Moira. I think all of his real fans are still concerned about it and want to know how Gerry really feels. Maybe if it gets cut out, someone will have recorded it and puts it on facebook. We still also have Leno, and he is usually pretty good with Gerry. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It seems so real when one of you are there and can see and hear him in person. Love him absolutely, Sandy
NordicGirl
Thank you so, so much for this added info! I just knew he would be emotional when asked as he is so very honest and human and not shallow at all. Again thank God it went well... I know I stated my worry about the risks in another thread long before the accident but cannot seem to find it now. He is blessed by being surrounded by love and prayers, - as he should be. I'm SO looking forward to these shows!! hugs from me PS: For peeps that may not be familiar with the Graham Norton show: CLIPS FROM EARLIER SHOWS Edited January 6, 2012 by NordicGirl
Dragon Slayer
Thanks so much Theresa and Moira! It's great to have a first hand report. It sounds like it was a riot and I can't wait to see the show tomorrow night! I have Fios...here on the east coast it's 189 from 10-11pm. I'm glad Gerry spoke about the accident...I've been most anxious to hear about it from his point of view.
