GBPhanatic
I want to say "thanks" for adding some additional pics of Gerry's lovely loft in NYC. There were some in there I'd not seen before! Also, I'd like to know what's up that stair case! I've heard rumors that it's just a roof top and some others that it was suppose to eventually be a spectacular master bedroom made of glass. Can you imagine laying there at night, looking up at the moon and the stars as you fall off to sleep? That would be magical and awesome, right up until the morning light woke you too early and the loud cooing of pigeons make you realize you best get the heck up and fetch the Windex and squeegie! Thanks, again, for the lovely pics! Delene
becozy
you're welcome, Delene! Things were so 'quiet' I made the rounds of 'sources' and found those additional goodies Wouldn't we all love to know what's 'up the stairs'... maybe it's The Stairway to Heaven link to new pics in Gallery here It is nice that the designer and builders have kept some of Gerry's posh place 'secret' though... good to have a little mystery

becozy
I did take a second look, and this looks like a staircase to 'nowhere'!
GBPhanatic
It does look like it just stops at a "ceiling". I think I like your description of it being a "stairway to heaven" the best! We'll go with that! Thanks, Barb! Delene
Rendita
I did take a second look, and this looks like a staircase to 'nowhere'! Could just be that it's a closed door. Unless they just used a light as an illusion here. http://www.gbgalsgallery.com/v/SpecialAppearances/NYapt/const/360view-11.jpg.html Actually, the story in Architectural Digest says it is a 2-story loft. http://www.gbgalsgallery.com/v/magazines/general/AD052010/AD-3.jpg.html It also says he has plans to redo the loft's second floor & adjoining roof terrace. http://www.gbgalsgallery.com/v/magazines/general/AD052010/AD-7.jpg.html Ren I meant to say, although I'm sure I've said it before, Gerry has a beautiful home. I really just love it. It's a shame he doesn't actually occupy it too often. Ren
Sara
I'm positively drooling. I love all the little details like the celtic design on the front of the sink and it looks like the towels have a kind of thistle design on them. And the chandeliers OMG. Phantom heaven! Thanks Sara
shirsan
Gerry designed all of this himself. I love his taste. Love him absolutely, Sandy
GBPhanatic
Has anyone noticed that the big bulky looking rustic work station table in the kitchen area was replaced by a black distressed work island with drawers later? Min@
I like his loft. Gerry has a very particular taste, unconventional, and then there's an air of old ... The scale where will it take? Will there be room?
terezoulini
For those of your wondering what they were planning to do with the floor upstairs, the designer's site had some sketches about the new bedroom and the garden they were planning. You can still see them on the Russian site, just scroll down quite a bit: http://gbutler.ru/photos/architectual-digest-may-1-2010/ In an interview with Scott Mills in 2010 Gerry said that he had just got himself a garden, so maybe they have proceeded with these plans. lovetheeloquence
I think his place in Chelsea looks absolutely fabulous. And it is too bad he doesn't get to spend more time there...at least I guess I'm supposing he doesn't get to spend a great deal of time there. It really is warm and masculine, also elegant and romantic. Hadn't looked at these photos in a bit, was a nice reminder of one of his beautiful homes. Thanks! Karin*
I absolutely love the new added photos of his NY loft! There´s not a corner of this place that doesn´t make my jaw drop, litterally... it´s exquisite leveled to the max, absolutely fabulous. Yet, it´s no surprise to me, since a house reflects the personality of its owner... I feel like hiring Elvis Restaino too, the man just materializes ideas, thoughts and fantasies!! GBPhanatic
Ran across this lovely fan video of Gerry's elegant loft! Sorry if already posted somewhere. I just love his loft and the music is pretty wonderful too! Delene Sorry about this link. It comes up double exposed for me. If you have trouble with it, just delete one of them.
