Lady Ski Bum
Is that DVD sales overseas? I haven't been able to find it here in US. Found release date of June 2012 in the U.S. Why not give it a wide release in the U.S. before then, especially with the video on Youtube about the same subject? The video on Youtube has gone viral around the world and MGP could do the same if given a chance. Edited March 10, 2012 by Lady Ski Bum
scotsmanstuart
Is that DVD sales overseas? I haven't been able to find it here in US. Hey there no its not to do with sales. This is the description of what the moviemeter shows - "Weekly MOVIEmeter- MOVIEmeter rankings provide a snapshot of what movies are hot based on the searches of millions of IMDb users. Updated weekly, these rankings also graph the popularity of movies over time and determine which events affect public awareness." So I am guessing that due to the Kony2012 video and all that talk MGP movie has been having more people search on it on site etc
raynbow
Now all of us have to contact Relativity and bug them to re-release the movie. I just went to Relativity's home page, and this is the contact address: pressrequests@relativitymedia.com Maybe if we all just bombard them with requests, they might do something. Don't know how the fans did it for Beowulf and Grendel, but something worked for that one. What do you all say?? Rayna
Forbes girl
I got to see Beowulf in Denver because of the large number of fan requests for it to come to the states. Maybe it can be done for MGP too. I was one of the lucky ones to see MGP in Boulder, Colorado. Only two theaters in Colorado showed it. It needs to come back to the states at a wider distribution. This MovieMeter shows there is interest in the movie. Why don't the distributors pay attention to that? ~HUGS~ Kathy
GBPhanatic
Although it might show better interest if it was re-released some might feel it would be too opportunistic for the benefit of profit but I definitely think it would do well now. I believe, and always will, that MGP played a huge part in this new focus on Kony and the situation. It should have had a better release and promotion the first time around. We may never understand the reasons behind it's poor showing. Delene Edited March 10, 2012 by GBPhanatic
